The Frog That Became King

He took an oath beneath the chandelier palace,
tongue lapping at furtive moth wings.
A crown of collectible bottle caps
balanced on his warty brow.

Lilith bowed as he passed,
her petals muttering oaths.
Tadpoles formed a scepter’s ascendency,
guiding his webbed ascent.

In the court of cattails and reeds,
he declared dominion over ripples.
Bullfrogs drummed a royal cadence,
while dragonflies danced in tribute.

But power is an annoying fly,
buzzing just beyond reach.
A heron’s aperture loomed large,
eyes shined with hunger.

Final words stung in the chasm:
“Long live the king.”
Then muted,
as the throne sank beneath the reeds.

As we move through life, decisions we need to take
Some sound and some, in hindsight, a bad mistake

In different times from a different age
The stories are told from a differing page

Life is full of light and shade
Dictated by events and decisions made

All too brief moments of joy
Confined to the box like yesterday’s toy

Dealing with life and the waves of emotion
Turning the tide of our own personal ocean

So when the time comes to decide and choose
Consider what we gain, rather than what we lose

When Ocean Dries Up Will Be A Bad Plight

In that old house something seemed not right,
the hammer hits the nail right on the head.

The moon lost its bright golden glow that night,
the hammer hits the nail right on the head.

His old grandmother was losing her sight,
the hammer hits the nail right on the head.

When ocean dries up will be a bad plight,
the hammer hits the nail right on the head.

Neptune Eyes

All I can distinguish from this tapestry of a world
are the different hues of blue within the little threads
The rain that falls when the tears of little neptunes
cleanse the world from any form of optimism
The ocean where all that sadness is drained towards
that many find themselves drowning in

No matter how many lenses of yellow
I tether to my eyes
The life from the green is incapable to satisfy
as there is simply no life or happiness to be found,
even within the baby blades of grass

Life never lasts anyway
it always seems to die
And unfortunately, death is the foundation of the floods
from little neptunes

Premium MemberIt's Done

when my life is done
i assume my soul
or immaterial part of my being,
will leave the physical structure
of bones and flesh

as the two part will i
have a chance to look at myself
see who i was
or as someone i
never got to know
or will they be the same

i’ve never been comfortable
in my own skin
literally and figuratively
mostly overweight,
rarely fit and never skinny
insecure often reticent
to express how i really feel,

what will i look like tomorrow
in some sort of box,
whole en route to a hole
or reduced to ashes
spread on the ocean
or in an urn, on a mantel

will i feel disconnected
more so than in life
unable to communicate
unable to be understood
did i make good use of my time
who decides that anyway

right now, today, i regret little
i believe every action in life
led me to where i am
right now, today,
i am mostly satisfied
but is satisfied enough

would i do my life over
if i had the chance,
and if so, would i change anything
what if i found out
this is as good as it gets

Big Job

There's a big job breaking out
Time for smelling salts and focus
There is no magic wand this time
No top-hat hocus pocus

Time to wheel out heavy gear
Flex our muscles and get busy
Pick ourselves a loyal team
With dreams so high they're dizzy

There's a big job breaking out
And it's clear we need to fix this
Sticking plasters just won't do
For this world defining crisis

Labourers to garden,
Experts in their field
Anyone who cares enough
To bring this crop to yield

Shoulder to the grindstone
Knuckles cracked and ready
Wrestle with the challenges
And climb to heights so heady

Engineers and carpenters
Housewives,  teachers, leaders
No time to waste. No shirking off.
Ask everyone to heed us

There's a big job breaking out
Blue lights are flashing by
Too much plastic in the ocean
No more ozone in the sky..

We need healers for creation
For neglecting all our duty
The reflection may be ugly
So it's time to bring back beauty

Sprinkle of Love

the beach is nature's playground
building sandcastles and splashing in the sea
as the wind blows through the beach
as cool as the gulf of lepanto
the waves washes away my stress
like water washes away, and leaving you pure
as it makes that beautiful sound
the waves lapping at my feets
feeling the ambience
i stood up looking into the water
the vast ocean has beauty all its own
i can feel the calmness of the chilly sea breeze on my body
i can feel each grain of sand
the warmth of the heat wraps me up
evoking the earth-mother in me
i can hear the grafting roar of the pebbles
it was a beauteous evening
the wind wafting my hair
the birds flying overhead and soar
a better place for a long walk with your soulmate
as we Nestle together
as i move towards the edge of the sea
bringing out the child in me
my feets leaving a footprint
as the beach never loses its inherent charm

Premium MemberLove You Like

Can you believe
we were put on his earth
like Adam and Eve.
We were made for each other.
I want to love you like
the romantic couples
in any of the Hollywood movies
you care to name.
Like the crazy insane
and the untamed
like Tarzan love Jane.
I want to love you like
there’s no one else to blame.

I want our love story
to go down in history
like happily ever after.
As we re-write the next chapter
in the Hall of Fame,
with me screaming your name.

I wanna love you like
Barack loves Michelle Obama
with an impossible love
like it’s the easiest thing to do.
And before I’m through,
I will have swim
the ocean of your love
and going down like the Titanic.

I want to love you like
going through hell and high water
is what I gladly do every day.
I want to love you for all the reasons
people fail
to love each other.
I want to love you like
the old songs
of the Captain & Tennille.
(Love will keep us together,)
(Do that to me one more time.)
And with this poem
(I write the songs.)

Monochrome

Aged glacier, gentle ice,
forever you remain.
While our torrent sacrifices
memory for fame,
forever for a name.

Lofty mountain, overseer,
you never condescend.
We beat a track on broken back,
and fail to comprehend,
means justify an end.

Immortal ocean, secret deep,
Such treasure must you hold.
But footprints found along your shores,
speak of futures sold,
of pockets lined with gold.

Open sky, you beckon freely,
offering your home.
We seize your canopy of stars,
and take it for our own,
make it monochrome.

Ocean Spirit

Ocean Spirit came to life;
From an Aboriginal gentleman's past life.
We yarned a lot with reciprocation;
Societies problems and invasion.

This he stated with no remotion-

"We are the first people, We came from the Ocean"

For this dedication; I drew this spirit
For his story is requisite.

"Since the beginning of time we walked around Australia-
Telling the same story of where our people came from"

Since the beginning of time...
This is no pantomime,
But truth from a true man who spoke proud and tall,
A traditional gentleman whom is Aboriginal.

Much Respect To The People Whom Came From The Ocean.

Stormy Cloud of a Poet's Mind

Words like rain dripping,
creating pools of poems
one after the another.
Stormy cloud of a poets mind,
only what is right is written down.
It’s not fame sought
but the truth
that is trying to come out.
Sea of words like droplets in the ocean
their modicum maketh
the greatness of emotions,
like tidal waves sweeping
through the mess
of a human mind shining
light on the dark.
It’s not fame sought
but the unity
of a world apart.

Scared Love

She was like an ocean
He loved her waves
But was to afraid to swim

Wishes of An Old Writer

I wish I could write everyday
Of my life

In some way, shape or form
Some type

Some expression

My life is cool
At times
Especially my quiet one
From my quiet side of mind

Infinite emotions

Wandering this rippled-ocean

Of a morning in the woods

Bluish-light through shaded blinds

Spoken Word

I finally get it not because of what I see but because of what I know
Ocean sea side waves of glory rays shine they glow
Boats sail shimmering sands counted but winds blow
To show
To cover
To minimize
To recognized
Censored explicit scenes detected
I finally get I am protected
I am created built to last in this
Life given reason seasons change pain pushes me in this
I am broken to see true essence in this
Destiny awaken shaken grounds uncharted territory in this
Give this time chance now has risen in this
I am glad astounded reminded of a spoken word in this
Before ancient had days
Pyramids were made
Space ships UFO trades
Columbus false gave
Timbuktu had shade
Music had a stage
Cakes had glaze
Harlem had a shake
In this before this I was made
Benefactor benefits pass before Steve Job passed away
Who would say who would be the next to pave
Waves of understanding Solomon's wisdom in his days
Would be passed on to say
Techniques had temples tipped by grace
Who would say
In this I find peace this day
Revelation revealed a momentum of accuracy I must say!
In this I find rest in this
Sealed with love and with a kiss!

Beautiful 'But' Ugly

The beautiful ocean with it's roaming waves
The ugly trash, oil slicks and dying fish

The beautiful clouds of blue when I look up
The ugly haze and smog the air looks of smut

The beautiful rain forest with endless life
The ugly money mongrel crawling like lice

The beautiful Twin Towers reaching for the sky
The ugly rubble and waste as people cry

The beautiful child so full of life
The ugly ill mind that gives him strife

The beautiful man who loved and healed, our Christ
The ugly mob who crucified him for a price

When will we as a human race
                         Turn Ugly into Beauty
and learn to embrace and stop the disgrace?
