Donald 2023

  Donald Trump could be
 doing Jailhouse Rock.
   DOJ has his head on
 A chopping block.

   Trumped up on
charges that
Include espionage.
   Donald trying to do
The duck and dodge.

   The ex-President
 has dug himself in
a deep hole.
   Things are starting
To spin Out of control.

   A Grand Jury of peers
Signed the indictment.
   Donald Trump could
Be wearing stripes
 in confinement.

   Mr. Jack White a
 vicious opponent.
   Trump is in denial,
He'll never own it.

   The Feds have a 95%
Conviction rate.
   This is Karma serving
Up fate.

   Trump is tweeting
Somewhere in Mar a largo.
   The Wheels of Justice
turn slow.

I wonder if they will
Try him as an adult?
He is claiming none
Of this is his fault

   Mr. Trump is starting to
Look a little jittery.
   One thing is for sure this
Will make history.

     Turbo1904?

A Harmonious Swirl

Fashion house store, jeweller
Bistro, awned tasteful -
Spin out each of your light's
Burnt orange, tactful

This chill eve's way, waist-wrapped
Mists two, affianced.
For this one fine purpose;
Conspicuous doth
Show up, honours a love.
Soft, warm, now enhanced.

*True Story

I’ve had many instances of divine intervention in my life
But, this one stands out in my mind forever
It was a snowy day, only a few inches had fallen
I went with a friend in a van to a store
I was driving slowly, when suddenly I saw…
A car spinning out of control ahead of me
It re-bounded off the guardrail on my side of the road
Then it came straight at us with alarming speed
I slowly stepped on the brakes, to not spin out too
I had stopped right on the yellow line, avoiding the other lane
The other driver slammed into the right front corner of the van
The van was totaled, but we only had minor injuries, including him
The next day I was at the rental car business for a car to drive
A woman was talking to the customer service person at the counter
She was saying, someone with my plates had saved her husband’s life
If I had not been there to stop him, he would have gone off the cliff
I told her, that is me and she thankfully hugged me in tears!

Oh! Light pollution
taking away the compass;
Lost, we just spin out;
Look up and maybe you’ll see,
We are smaller than we think;

A dark wooded night
sealing dreams in the silence;
We just keep spinning;
Celestial rotation
stars glow and light up wishes;

Loving this moment
you wish  a little harder;
A blanket of stars;
Celestial connection
pushing and pulling your heart.

The Purse

During my living
My melodic dream I longed for
Sprouted in me
The nature of the self-appraisal
With my life stunning in vivid shades
I scribbled the poetry.
In the blank paper
Of my innermost minds.

I grasped – you and me
Quite distinctly
Highest in morality
Topmost in significance
This lust of mine
Smashed these words
Of this poetry of mine
In numerous forms
In several fragments.

These words I etched
Shattered all over the grounds
may spin out in futility
I amassed them into my purse
And constrain meticulously its mouth.

Eventually,
At the moment when I set myself
Selecting and
Choosing each words
In the winnow of my inner minds
The similes of the words
Revive and breathe as it’s again
In the poetry of mine.

Premium Member Every Time

Every time the ocean reaches the shore
The sand keeps waiting and waiting for more
More of the touch that wets its entity
And gives it a whole new identity

Every time the sun shines at the flowers
They keep waiting to recharge their powers
More of the light that releases through them
And creates new breath like a diadem

Every time the wind blows through the tall trees
The leaves keep waiting for the gentle breeze
More of the brush that tickles their being
And moves them to and fro, feels so freeing

Every time I look at God's love and grace
He keeps reminding He's my hiding place
He gives me magic that keeps me going
And helps me spin out poetry flowing

I’m running for President
But this time I’ll win,
Without our dear Hilary,
That caused such a din!

You’ll see I’m the man
The one they need beat,
Whatever they serve
For breakfast I’ll eat.

I’m steeled for the task
My lungs fully primed,
To galvanize crowds,
Their passions to wind.

Remembering lessons
From last time around,
I’ll pummel my colleagues,
Right into the ground.
My passions undaunted,
No weapon too harsh,
They won’t know what hit them
As they spin out and crash.

Let not thoughts of age,
Nor leanings too left,
Fool you to think
I’m no longer that deft.

The other old man
That’s now in my sights,
May as well pick his grave,
As I read him last rites.

So just watch me work
As the contest unfolds,
For when I but sneeze
Others catch colds.

Premium Member Its Stellar

Swirling color wheel;
Spinning, spinning, oh so fast;
A toy built to last.
Spinning top in outer space;
This old Earth, it has its place.

Turning round and round,
I see planets, watching me;
And I watch them back.
Telescopic vision is,
Impressive, to say the least.

Coordinated,
Tops that spin in outer space;
Centrifugal force;
Keeps them spinning round and round;
Never seeming to spin out.

Colors on velvet;
Gemstones on a black canvas;
Distant whirling lights.
Majestic beauties, are they;
Dervish bodies as they play.

Premium Member Gears Spin Out a Provocative Question

spending time, charmed by all the goodies
...a weight room, pool and foosball tables and
a padded room with a wrestling mat and dummies.

a kids paradise. Little girls backflipping, colliding
with little boys. ...with choke holds and all.

upon disembarking this adventure, past the fountain,
and stepping on ritzy road of the very rich,

the school age thinker asks, with a gulp, gears spinning
in his overwhelmed head:

“What does someone have to do to live in a place like this?”

Madness

Mental illness makes my
Mind spin out of control.
Many voices clamor,
Make demands and threaten.
Medication numbs me.
Meandering through a
Maze of thoughts, I am lost.

A Simple Goodbye

A mere two days away
My life will forever change
You've made the choice to go away
The decision not to stay
My soul is on fire from hiding the truth
As always, I do not want to lose you
Cyber space and cell phone calls
Is what will be left of it all

Things will not change between us
But they will not be the same
You home will no longer exist
For me to rest my head
To sit in utter silence
While a million words are being said

The presence of your laughter
The rare form of your tears
Will not linger near my heart
The way they have for years

But I know I have to let you go
I've watched this place swallow you whole
And watched your life spin out of control

I will not pluck a rose from its stem
To own the beauty within
I know it will only wither in the end
So I will let you go
So you can live

Behind the Smokescreen

Behind the Smokescreen

Smoke screens on all sides;
Makes for hidden truths and purposed lies.
Imperfect vision clouded by events;
Distraction of human common sense.

Storm clouds, fog, and rain;
Confuses the masses in disdain.
Step outside the modern realm;
To stay is to become over whelmed.

Where truths are hidden and answers denied;
Go to where introspection applies.
Solitude away from all the voices;
You have many options and many choices.

Do not look for answers in the mire;
Or preach your sermons to the choir.
Silence your thoughts and let answers present;
Let spirit give you the final assent.

Take media with a grain of salt;
Staged events be not your default.
The answers you seek are not there;
They are within your own heart's prayer.

Student of life, Great Spirit the guide;
Lessons to be learned and then applied.
So let the circles spin out of sync;
As it should when awakening is at brink.

Be calm in the midst of the storm;
A new day is waiting to be born.
And while the world looks through the smokescreen;
Keep finding truths in the unseen.

Premium Member Where Is Your Crack Pipe

More to the point
What is your crack pipe?
In the heavy storm
Of getting a grip
On life
One could be excused
For looking for a way out
An escapism
Some people keep busy
Some people spin out
On all sorts of things
So
Where is your crack pipe?

Toe Valley Tom

"Toe Valley Tom will be right back!"

Cued the Mule Skinner Blues, as I finally took a break from my Bluegrass Show on WTOE, the radio station you could hear across the street--if you were lucky!

Its a very long story how I took a job as a DJ at a country station. Though, I will mercifully shorten this episode in my life!

			drive through boulders
			onto the slippery main road
			spin out to station

I was recently married and had taken on the editorship of a small weekly newspaper. Well, it folded after a few months and desperate for a job, any work that I could find in the tiny mountain village near the Estatoe River to support wife and myself! (the county and namesake river were shortened to "Toe"--hence the name given to me)

WTOE hired me as a morning DJ and reporter after a short audition--also I was the only announcer who could read the news and be understood.

You would probably be shocked to learn how I detested country music! Sheer torture for yours personally who only liked classical and a little jazz! But, I could tolerate bluegrass, which was the only saving grace!

			mournful music
			caught myself singing along
			immediately quit
