Dear Mike,
I just wanted to touch base with you and write how I feel at this moment. While you were here, you taught us so much. I still play your songs because I like THE WAY YOU MAKE ME FEEL through your music. It brings me closer to you. My favorites are MAN IN THE MIRROR and BLACK AND WHITE.
You know yo boy BEN broke up with DIRTY DIANA and told her to BEAT IT. She began to SCREAM and yell I WANT YOU BACK. Drama, drama, drama. She always WANNA BE STARTIN' SOMETHIN' acting like she's all BAD. It must be her HUMAN NATURE and that could be DANGEROUS.
Anyway, he started dating this PRETTY YOUNG THING name BILLIE JEAN. She is a LIBERIAN GIRL. She told him he reminds her JUST A LITTLE BIT OF YOU.
Well, we all miss you. We feel you were GONE TOO SOON. By the way, there is suppose to be a concert in your honor and you know one thing Mike, I've GOT TO BE THERE. I will ROCK WITH YOU forever, for I NEVER CAN SAY GOODBYE to you and you will never be OUT OF MY LIFE.
You, your dancing and your music will live on and on forever and ever.
Love Always,
Colette Dright
For the skies so bright and blue...
And the Sun that shines at noon.
For the sparkling stars and Moon;
O Lord, we thank you.
For the light of life you renew
and your love so fresh and pure;
for your faithfulness ever sure...
O Lord, we thank you.
For harvest's fruits nice and new;
for the shrubs, trees and weeds.
For your hands supply our needs...
O Lord, we thank you.
For the dawn that breaks anew
and our days brightened with love;
for great help sent from above...
O Lord, we thank you.
For our friends...the faithful few
and the foes the make us grow;
for the storms and wind that blow...
O Lord, we thank you.
Pop may be catchy
But not lyrically deep
Case in point: Chris Brown.
(N.B. Poem written after hearing "Don't Wake Me Up")
days of benign stealth
lawns, gardens, orchards drink to my health
the road's been unkind
well it's gone, it's flowed on behind
let me recline in this boon
mellow noon
the bell might ring
spiteful and soon
days of serene sloth
cirri bind the sky in strips of clean cloth
and they barely support its weight of light
and i circle my core like a moth
tell me whose darned flitting hand
lit this little burner just below my head
that it moves higher up with each sandbag shed
and i never knew how far my land spread
now i long for something to make
now i ache for something to wield
earthbound and sunbaked
like a worker in the field
You helped me through a very tough time,
Retro melodies and lyrics put a mellow on my bind,
Found out about you two years ago,
Such a unique singer could work any flow,
Took your own to create such an influential sound,
From something you were never able to fully rebound,
You never comprised, you were honest and cool,
That may not be what everyone says but it's true,
You spoke and sang from the heart,
You always did, even from the start,
Honesty, humility, humbleness and vulnerability,
Traits made it easy for you to live your life publicly,
You set the bar for what many musicians strive to achieve,
You pulled it off with such ease, the stars aligned, it was meant to be,
It takes guts and strength to be your own,
That's why you wear this generations Jazz thrown.
"Thank you for being a friend", that's how it goes.
Blanche will fly whichever way the wind blows.
"Traveled down the road and back again", is what they sing.
Rose waits for a light bulb, clueless to everything.
"Your heart is true, you're a pal and a confidante", goes the next line.
Sophia shares her sarcastic wisdom, making rose trick a mime.
"And if you threw a party, invited everyone you knew", as the song plays.
Here comes Dorothy, intelligent and bossy, so set in her ways.
"you would see, the biggest gift would be from me" It's almost done.
The Golden girls bring so much fun.
"And the card attached would say" as the show portrays,
"Thank you for being a friend".
Sophia, Dorothy, Blanche and Rose,
for eachother, a helping hand to lend.
The show possesses what the song does imply.
The women"s friendship a binding tie.
A tribute to them as the legend lives,
Their warmth and caring continues to give.
April Wilson-"The Golden Girls"
How do I thank
The voice in the night?
Call of hope
After the world turned dark
How do I thank
The voice in the night?
Healing words
Made from
Angel heart
Oh, her chocolate whisper
Warm convincing breeze
Oh, her breathy laughter
In the shadow of my need
Don’t you hear the voice?
Save you from despair
Don’t you hear the voice?
Sent by ghosts who care
Don’t you hear the voice?
Rises like a prayer
Come to rescue you
From your earthly snare
How do I thank
The voice in the night?
Call of hope
Kissed my tears away
How do I thank
The voice in the night?
Now I dance
To a magic serenade
Don’t you hear the voice?
Memories of home
Don’t you hear the voice?
Pretty as a poem
Don’t you hear the voice?
Vivifies your soul
Bathes you in a pool
Love you’ve never known
How do I thank
The voice in the night?
Call of hope
After the world turned dark
Voice inside the darkness
Gets into my head
Lady caller,
Take me, take me
To your bed
Voice inside the darkness
Gets into my head
Lady caller
Raise me, raise me
From the dead
Voice inside the darkness
Gets into my head
day dreaming
beneath your ceiling
under your cracks of blue
on a cloudy Sunday
I was something
soothing you
Lying in the crescents
of a mystery
Am I spending
too much time with you
and we were a shoulder
alive and highly
candling the thoughts of two
oh, they say i was
spending too much
time with you
beneath your cracks of blue
day dreaming
in the streets of night
lights and colors
a shimmering absence
vacant promises
in these all night dreams
when day light seemed
to wonder and deem
until
the morning screamed
and i was crazy
how you crazed me
the jewels you gave me
drove me daisies
into hours hazel
crowded and hazy
and we were children
beyond a rhythm
waltzing in a melody
alive and highly
beneath the splinters
flowers rekindled
but they say i was
spending too much
time with you
day dreaming
in her cracks of blue
oh she loved you
she seldom left you
in the cracks of blue
across the avenue
it was nothing new
just day dreaming
souls were clinging
songs of signature
Honesty
Can't you see
I lied again
Against your whim
Following I keep on following
As you lead the way
My lowest friend
How we meet again
Oh yeah
Oh no
Oh yeah
Oh no
It's the top see baby
Surely you're not all alone
Safe baby
The place that you call your home
Front seat baby
Maybe I'm lost
I don't trust a thought
And i think to much oh come on
Come on come on say maybe
Come on come on see baby
Come on come on say maybe
Yeah baby come on
I betrayed
You and me
I messed up again
Lost another good friend
Stop pushing I can't stop pushing
Down on all your walls
Till your broken again
To severe to mend
Oh yeah...etc
It's the top see baby...etc
Trusting me
You're naive
Where do i begin
Starting from the end
Selfishly I keep on running and
Don't forget my name
I'm sorry again
All the words I spent
(I am still working on it)
Paradise of beautiful thoughts via heart
Ornamented with pure and serene art
Enlightening postings on varied themes
Teaching various paradigms supreme!
Intellectual writers love to spend days
Creations of delight coined in selfless ways
Sharing of common passion gets rear
Offers new chance to entrants in its sphere
Umbrella for world wide authors in one group
Long live the heaven with name Poetry Soup!
Branded, like a cigarette
crushing flesh to the bone
paralysed by fear
though you struggle on your own
your ego 's got you wary
while your mind's in control
shut empty and on edge
Oh Down you go
No formal introduction
to a girl without a face
arms stretched out wide
consoles me with her grace
she says, she's got the answer
to any kind of pain
medicated love
pyrotechnics for the flame
Guess i am
your muse my friend
oh Yes I am
she says ...

This Song Is About
Thanking The Dear Lord Not For Only
The Big Things In Life But Also So
Many Little Things Also To Be Thankful For
Dedication to unconditional love and soul
salvation
I AM the ONE who loves thee
The ONE who cared enough to die for thee
I AM HE who redeemed thee
The ONE who rose from the dead to comfort thee
I AM the ONE who will always be with thee
The ONE who will never forsake thee
I AM HE who is integrity
The ONE who imparts truth in thee
I AM HE who was sent to save thee
The ONE who bore all your infirmities
I AM HE who will come back for thee
Just be a soul who truly loves ME
