Sidestepping Poems | Examples

Premium Member Dweller of our heart

In the cave of our heart, God Himself dwells,
as the light that lights all lights in this world.
God’s language is love, which ego misspells,
hoping we’ll be in winds of desires twirled.

So dark lust or love, which one do we choose,
determines either descent or ascent
and by sidestepping each ego spawned ruse,
our aura glows on granting joy consent.

Look not at form but at God’s light within
the heart of every living thing there is,
the sinless intent with which we begin,
breath by breath, we radiate a bliss fizz.

We’ve said to the ego our last farewells ~
In the cave of our heart, God Himself dwells

God’s magnetism heightens at the fontanel
but because we have now become receptive,
we remain in staid stillness in body shell,
sidestepping each of ego’s fears deceptive,
encouraging divine mists of bliss to swell,
vaporised presence remaining attentive,
to the flame divine that in each cell does burn,
transmuting us as light in mind-body urn.

(a silly series of Senryus)

It’s time to cram for
final exams, again, so
here we go, mug up.

My mind, coffee dark,
drifts in academic dreams,
—think roiling oceans.

A ‘mandatory’
society meeting? You’re
not the boss of me.

I’ll shun or eschew,
if I want too, sidestepping,
like a tap dancer.

I'm not lazy - I'm
high tech and in energy
saving mode now.

It’s a pointed and
conscious decision—I’ll do
me and you do you.

Premium Member so spake simple Simon

what’s revealed remains concealed
for those who as yet dwell in the dark
but if they wish, they too can be healed

truth is simple, straightforward and stark
voids within fill if we choose to be still
ascending along love’s upward arc

easy becomes soul’s ascent uphill
upon surrendering, making heart pure
in stream of bliss we then drink to our fill

sidestepping the web of desires that lure
make eye mindful and touch demure

Premium Member In life’s eventide

During life’s sunset years, in slowdown mode,
sidestepping environs that provoke strife,
our tranquil soul dwells in God’s heart abode,
invoking love mists that make us bliss rife.

Kindly eye looks at all with compassion,
tolerant to fault even if we’re scorched,
because where we dwell, love is in fashion,
wayward ego having long since been torched.

As dawn turns to dusk and night shifts to day,
with thoughts at rest and no load on our chest,
to the light that lights all lights, as we pray,
our presence is ensconced in heart’s bliss nest.

Having renounced desire, soul free from stain,
has broken free from earth life’s karmic chain.

Premium Member Soul’s scream

How still are we if thoughts persist,
scheming about our to do list?
Even during the sleeping state,
dream forms conjured do not abate,
since we’re identified with form
and so succumb to this thought storm.

As long as tied to our mind tree,
light of soul can never be free,
aglow in the cave of our heart,
so that’s where search for peace should start.

We each must choose without excuse,
bliss beats, sidestepping ego’s ruse,
because we’re not this body-mind;
we’re living light, blissful and kind
and so with this recognition,
let’s focus on our soul’s mission.

Memorising scriptures was all in vain,
since symbolic words but addressed our mind,
whereas our soul wished to walk the terrain,
to vanquish demons of darkness that bind,
enabled on becoming love aligned.
Breath by breath thus, we chose to walk the talk,
mindfully sidestepping desires that stalk
and in no time at all, felt a bliss squall,
imprinting truth with indelible chalk,
revealing light of true Self standing tall.

Premium Member Cave of our heart

Cave of our heart is God’s abode
Fold hands here in prayer
Drenched in bliss mists, pay Him an ode
Our soul’s lifelong affaire

With thoughts, words and deeds just
Sidestepping ways of lust
Transform this form of dust

God search here start

Mimicry

When I analyze the lyrics
I see everything that the world mimics
It’s the easiest of diagnostics
That unravels the mystery of these mystics
How we tamper with the sacred relics
Cutting and stitching tapestries from solid fabrics

Watching while your hearing wastes
Numbing nourishment out of your tastes
You try to keep up and so forsake your rest
Stretched to the limit, you have no zest
And you wither in the haste
For at high cost you copy and paste

Who lived well if not your fathers before you
With timeless counsel they try to hand you
But the old gold you trade for the new dew
The rich color you trade for a pale hue
Forfeiting and sidestepping blessings well due
And then flood your tears on the pew

As the world pulls its strings
It matters what a man sings
If about worldliness and things
Onto the strangling cords he clings
If to God his longing, belonging and belongings
Then he is one among priests and kings

Premium Member Endless Bliss

Night or day, we’re engaged in play
Joyously heeding our soul’s call
To the rhythm divine, as we sway
Our essence, in time we recall
Rising swiftly after each fall
When with love, we choose to align
Our aura glows and we stand tall
Bliss drenched, under the oneness sign

Upon granting truth right of way
We see God’s light in one and all
Free from desire and fears at bay
Porous heart lowers ego’s wall
Inviting within, a bliss squall
Dewdrops of love for love do pine
Heart feels Holy Spirit enthral
Bliss drenched, under the oneness sign

Upon earth realm, short is our stay
With God’s laws as our protocol
Debts of love owed, with cheer we pay
Sidestepping ego spawned pitfall
Preventing thus, our soul’s downfall
Each breath graced, we see as a sign
That it’s time to fly, not to crawl
Bliss drenched, under the oneness sign

We dwell in silence, thought flow stall
And so with existence entwine
Allowing rapture to snowball
Bliss drenched, under the oneness sign

Premium Member Follow the Scent

In between the start and the end
Our heart's intent, to God we bend
Granting pulse of love our consent
That thus mind, body and soul blend

By simply following love’s scent
For pure souls, assured is ascent
As divine bliss beats grant traction
We see God's light, luminescent

Futile's action and reaction
Save bliss, where lies satisfaction
Throbbing within when we be still,
Sidestepping ego distraction

Bow down oh hermit, to God’s will
That voids within, on their own fill
Innate awareness self-aware
Feels within, soma nectar spill

Love enabled, for all souls care
Same inside out, joy freely share
In timeless time, God’s truth is known
With the universe, gently pair

Premium Member Awareness Self-Aware

We cannot often enough
smoothens out our edges rough,
down to the subtlest layer,
in gentle, mindful prayer.

Continuous correction
steers consciousness direction,
aligned with the throb of love,
as tidings of God’s peace dove.

To this end, our will we bend,
that we may here now ascend,
transmuting form as God’s light,
bliss ensconced, to heart’s delight.

Each breath grants to us a chance
to make erect our stooped stance,
sidestepping ego borne ruse,
doable if we so choose.

Premium Member What Is Love

Love begins with joy,
sidestepping thought ploy,
sharing and caring,
with all souls pairing.

Love is not a trade,
nor assigns a grade;
it's a warm embrace,
akin to God's grace.

Bliss bubbles passion
is love's compassion,
holding each soul near;
all to our heart dear.

When true love's seeded,
no echo's needed,
for the flame burns on,
each breath a new dawn.

Like the pristine dew,
each love hue is new,
magic on display,
making earth life play.

Fires of love let's stoke
in heart to invoke,
bliss fragrance sublime,
to heavenward climb.

Premium Member Prayer Is the Humble Doctor

I gaze into the Mirror of Love
hoping to see an added brightness
in reflection, ourselves often kept
in dark when it comes to measures
of inner light – one sees where the
eyes are...they and their glasses tempered
by spirit's silvered backings.... Alice
went into the mirror and traveled –
Freud bounced off his image and
back into touch...Christ shattered
the glass of separation, passing
resurrected beyond, while others lost
in man's heavy fragments...sidestepping slivers
of transforming possibilities.....

I pray....for prayer the humble doctor....

Premium Member Heaven On Earth

Heaven on earth, ours for asking
Sidestepping stagnation
In God’s light, joyously basking
Time stretched meditation

Like the fresh morning breeze
Flowing with carefree ease
Just embrace and release

In blissful mirth
Heaven on earth
