Touch Foot Ball
On Saturday, the L A Rams
Encountered the Monterey Clams
With no and, if, or but
It was open and shut
The Sopranos limped home like lambs!...

Made my name in Monterey
BB,Muddy ,the key to how I play;
Bell bottom fashion was my thing,
Little Richard was my king
like his voice,my guitar sings.

Driving To Monterey
Clouds cap mountains
Making them like models
My eyes see toys
Green paint and fuzz
Card-stock and brush strokes
But its real
And it makes me think that nothing could ever really be bad....

Monterey
 Written May 4, 2020

I can feel the sun beat down
O’er the sailors as they say
That we should have gone a different way
A compass if I may
Storms a brewin’ anyways

The horizon slowly fades
Silence grows as we slowly slip away
With an ocean between us
I never loved you more than Monterey...

Musical, analytical, religious, artistic.
Son of soldiers.
Lover of Nelly, ragtime pianos, and rhythm guitars.

From the Festival at Monterey
Through Woodstock and his anthem play
His Experience and Band of Gypsys days
To his icon hit, Purple Haze

We remember Jimi even today
His wah-wah pedal and feedback ways
It’s so sad that he ended his days
Far too young to hear the praise.

Entry in the Jimi Hendrix contest...

Premium Member C'Est La Vie
Left Monterey on Saturday.
Arrived in Paris early Sunday.
Driven to the Somme Cemetery Monday.
Job-interviewed and lunched on Tuesday.
Flew back home via L.A. Wednesday.
Recovered on Thursday.
Back to work on Friday.
Disappointed on Saturday.
Didn't get the job, but spent three nights in Paris at government expense.
C'est la vie....

First Rain In Monterey Winter
Gloomy's the yard covered with fallen leaves
Winter's coldness comes with winds wet with rains
Lonely souls dread most the lengthy cold nights
A quick-paced life about thin frosts complains
A cocoon imprisons the silkworm tight
Burnt out candles waste their flickering light
The empty house is a daily sad thing
Only the beauty's worshiped in painting...

Rest here
Weary Monarch
Though Monterey calls you
No flight for broken wings that seek
Healing
Born in this arbor - this hospice -
Begging release to fly
The wind express
Again!

Based on an injured butterfly, in our garden, that hitched a ride on the grill of our car. We think he finally made it to Monterey and we have had butterflies in our garden ever since that summer....

Premium Member What Friendship Is For
Why despair
  Instead repair

Wherefore cry
  Tomorrow's nigh

In hock or shock
  Don't sweat just yet

It'll happen for you
  There's luck all over
Near the Cliffs of Dover
  Sits your four-leaf clover

If not in a Parisian Cafe
  Or down Acapulco Way
Perchance by Monterey Bay
Face up on a California quay

Just think of me
  When your ship comes in
Of how happy I'll be
That you lit up my grin...

Loaded Baked Potato
When you bake these tubers unearthed from the ground,
many ways to stuff them can be found.
Onions, peppers, chives, and mushrooms can please.
How about cheddar, Monterey jack, or blue cheese?
Fill them with chili, bacon bits, or sour cream.
Butter with salt and pepper is good, it would seem.
There are other ingredients. Anyone can dream.
One of the most versatile foods is the potato.
Dress it up. Let your imagination flow....

Listen to poem:
The Midnight Fog of Monterey Bay
David J Walker

Yes, wet, and fertile
The air was like consuming sex
Forgetting to breath
	Forgetting any need
Forgetting the flavors of dry
Or what I remembered of the
The perfect hue of any other
Night sky
Monterey Bay was my first
	Dance partner
And I was its awkward first time
Teenager who would
Fall in love with the experience
Of fog
And would soon be gone
Retaining the memory
She would forget...
