(a time piece in space)

behind yonder face
the fat queen lays indolent
subjects scurry blind
a hive of activity
driving each day into night.

Imperfect
Indented by harsh waves
Injured by cold sharp rocks
Inflicted by failures
Irate at injustice
I come to you naked
Indolent, extinguished
Illuminate me Lord

Sanity Found
I found sanity in tragedy undone in a silent walk under the scarlet sun with silent reflection in a crystal blue pool I saw in the mirror the ripples of an indolent fool

The clamor heard
In the urgent awakening of Spring
Slowly dies down
During the indolent lethargy of Summer,
But quickly revives
With the crisp tanginess of Fall,
Only to be subdued again
By the icy brittleness of Winter....

Fascinating flight
glowing green in pearl moonlight
of red rose rapture
Indolent June moon, treasured
and shrouded by starry night

Fireflies of summer
Come and go, mysterious
at indigo night
just past the purple sunset
with its dazzling, fading gold...

To be indolent cannot apply to me For I was raised on a farm to work, I will not condone laziness you see It’s not in my better nature to shirk.

The Fruit Without the Tree
Empowering the indolent,
  the fox is now inside

The vermin on the loose,
the truth now plagued by lies

The takers stalk the givers,
those on the dole now scream

“We want what you have worked for,
 —the fruit without the tree”

When Night Had Veiled My Foe
Like a great parodied indolent
Such illusions of meaningless digressions
Compliant with a game of chance
Purred for the sun to pass
And built a twilight barricade
Till hunger drew slack
Then like a flack of mottled light
Round beneath it
Time in hours
It moved the world.....

Doves
When angels sing
Love begets love
In fluttering hearts
Of soaring white doves
Praying over predation
Tarrying above indolent blues
Serenity rains calm
In the cumulus of heliocentric views
Harrowed by hate
Beseeched by a crimson dawn
Hope sways on an olive branch
Dangling over civilization’s lawn...

Cardinal peeking
Red flashes in my sunroom
Seeks window feeder

          Empty feeding box
          Attractive indolent bird
          Pecks at my window

                    Angrily flitting
                    Eyes industrious robin
                    Pulling at a worm

Weather
It was dawn
The weather was cold and chilly
I peep out of the window
And found the streets empty
Everyone seems indolent
'Cause they're addicted to the life's pleasure
But I have to go
To earn my bread and living
The days are tough
For the people like me
Causing gloomy forecast about the economy....

Cat
A marmalade throw
dangles paws in indolent ease.

Atop a garden wall, limbs stretch,
as stiff as table legs.

Eyelids flicker, whiskers, and ears
sense the flutter of sparrows,
muscles tense in their bed of fur.

The drowsy head falls once more,
pillows itself on the warm brick,
legs loosen, limply dangle,
a ginger cat dreams of pouncing....

Cat In the Sun
A striped marmalade throw
dangles paws in indolent ease.

Between the sun
and the garden wall, limbs stretch,
for a moment as stiff as table legs.

Eyes squint under closed lids
as whiskers sense sparrows,
muscles tense in their bed of fur.

Then the drowsy head falls once more.
sleepy joints loosen ready to dream
of a marmalade cat pouncing....

Morning Welcome
To wake without alarm--
That would be nice.
To go out early once
Where the cardinal
Is already up,
To shed the night wrap
And swaddling house
To go out early once
Without a cigarette
Or coffee cup,
Before some obligation
Calls me indolent
And back inside
To compromise
On schedule,
To go out early once
To feel the leisure
Grace of welcome--
That would be nice....

I Fret the Holiday Season
I Fret the Holiday Season

I invited it in:
insipid, insidious
holiday hoopla;
and now rue
my indolent heart
As time escapes
I inveigh aloud
a tirade of syllables
that berate my
immutable,
irascible self

I pine for insouciance,
iniquitously doled
to some
not to others,
and wear the ignominious
crown, self-bestowed
upon my head:
“Intransigent Queen.”

I’ve only myself to blame....

The Indolent Wind
the indolent wind
dances in a gentle rain
could the problem not be of another
but an internal failure to find within
your real soul mate
and all trials and errors
belong to you
the absolute failure is abandoning you
dreams you follow
become the roadside kills
ignored in the mirror
we do not demand happiness
we choose to live it
I can share passions
but not for the crucifixion
one of my own

A little muse on our myopic views
“Somewhere Ages and ages hence”
Past all attempts towards defence
Of our doings we begin to see
For both our eyes, we did not see

A little is often taken for too much
That we can’t but be imbeciles as such
Is a sore lesion to life’s beauty
Seldom do we see sense as duty

We think we know while we do not
Immured we live in our cosy cot
This is all life has, thinks the simple mind
Indolent to seek a superior find

COPLA 104 RESOLUTION : This Bad Guy World

Ethnicity geography parent
Ferment in spiritual cauldron :
Breed gods violent

Who wants to serve gods heirs apparent
Can believers be made to reason :
God indolent

Gods thus get imposed on others
Through violent spiritual conquests :
Meek must submit

One Way of Life spread over borders
Not by sword nor by royal behests :
There gods must quit

Sleeping
I meet a woman on the woodland,
sleeping underneath a willow tree.
Her face is serene, that is all I see
while I stroke her indolent hand.

“You will not be roused by the sun,
even the skylark will be hushed
and if your cheeks are flushed
I shall call you spring blossom…”

There I waited all night long
keeping the daylight faraway,
just like I did yesterday:
humming an old nursery song,
strumming slowly her silky hair,
captivated by her face fair....

INCREDIBLE

When just you left,I cannot remember.
               I cradled incredible crying moment.
I could not protest, but to surrender.
When just you left! I cannot remember.
How could I know? You were going forever.
               I was confused,just sat indolent.
When? Just you left! I cannot remember.
               I cradled incredible crying moment.

Strangeness
Indolent yet, constant, the feeling persists of no feeling
How do I do what I had no idea I would be doing?
Dreams are now nothing but wishful thinking
More like a thirst of unquenched drinking
Going through the motions unsure now of things I
had felt certain about, in my mind and almost in my heart
Its a different place, shadows emphasized by brightness
Strange familiarity of how life usually is, its contrariness
This is the constant, that I am not used to, this is strageness...

Primavera
On this day, the light declares victory
The Sun’s unrelenting march
From its Stygian, icy fortress
Has at last dethroned the indolent dark

The pendulum swings into the black
The metronome ticks maddeningly faster
Life, the sleep sand wiped out of its eyes,
In love again in its giddy mania

Emerald mother unfurls to embrace
The fertile seed of the victorious Sun
A hint of pollen with each breath beckons, as
The world spins dizzyingly towards its fevered peak.
