Freeloader

Cardinal peeking
Red flashes in my sunroom
Seeks window feeder

          Empty feeding box
          Attractive indolent bird
          Pecks at my window

                    Angrily flitting
                    Eyes industrious robin
                    Pulling at a worm

Excellent haiku, Milton! I have a bird feeder outside my dining room window and have experienced the same thing. Mine is usually emptied by those pesky squirrels and I'm still looking for the perfect squirrel-proof feeder! Bob

Hi Bob, they are hard to find because squirrels are very persistent and inventive. I myself have never been able to thwart them. Thanks for your read and your comment.
