Primavera

On this day, the light declares victory The Sun’s unrelenting march From its Stygian, icy fortress Has at last dethroned the indolent dark The pendulum swings into the black The metronome ticks maddeningly faster Life, the sleep sand wiped out of its eyes, In love again in its giddy mania Emerald mother unfurls to embrace The fertile seed of the victorious Sun A hint of pollen with each breath beckons, as The world spins dizzyingly towards its fevered peak. 3/20/16
