Sloth

To be indolent cannot apply to me For I was raised on a farm to work, I will not condone laziness you see It’s not in my better nature to shirk.

Thank you. You, too. Yes, my best friend is a farmer, and I can vouch for what you say. He has little to no free time during the summer season.

I was brought up on a farm, it's not just work it's discipline, couple that with a Dad who had done 3 years National Service, it was discipline in overdrive, I kinda love my sloth moments as long as you don't get caught . . . ; )

Good for you -- unlike those smarmy city folk who smirk, from Jack Paar to Steven Colbert: Can't stand any of 'em. ~ Country Boy

Well, I was born and raised in Chicago. But my formative adult years were on a kibbutz in Israel. My heart never left... And now my youngest son lives there.

Between fungus, mildew, insects, thieves, vandals, and the weather, farmers need most a god! Aloha!

I'd say she does, Rico. Not enough rain when needed, too much when it's running off. Farmers have a hard time...and they work hard!

Well, I"ve been on a farm once or twice. Does that count? And, although I do have a bit of a lazy streak, I wouldn't equate it with slothfulness....necessarily. Best of luck in the contest, L M.

Hmm...well, Jim, if you'd been raised on a farm, you'd know on the farm there's never a down minute. Hey, all of us have a bit of a lazy streak, we just have to make sure it doesn't control us. Thanks, Jim.

I grinned so big when I read this that my face cracked. I was raised by two "farm kids" - my parents.

I'm glad you could relate, Caren. All kids should be raised on a farm, IMHO.
