THE TASTE OF TWIN
On toast-bacon twin
Butter sheen
My taste buds they win.

Day at the Beach
on a beach girls play
flaunting sexy bikinis...
grinning sharks circle
on moonless park bench--
language from deep glimpses tell
of ardor aflame

on Valentine's Day
the price of 'true love' rises -

On the last seat of a school bus
A boy and girl were making a fuss
Driver was alerted
Attention diverted
Hit a pole causing one last thrust
On the river Styx,
Charons’ boat moves quite slowly;
the passage solemn;
it will cost you for the ride.
Charon does not work for free.
on a white sand beach
lie scattered fragments of shells--
my unfulfilled dreams

For Shadow Hamilton's "Traditional Haiku" contest
on the veranda
sounds of raindrops, twirling leaves
scurrying squirrels
gunshots in the distance boom
- deer to decimate garden
On the day after Christmas, bam!
The tree hit the floor once again
That was it, all I could stand, wham!
Ornaments in the attic slain
on prairies lovely
combed with moth wings emerald....
barbed pines prick clay's flesh
(( for Charles Henderson's
Strict Haiku 2 Contest))
Sunset painted glow
silhouettes a CLOUDED sky...
on far horizon

on his regal waves
galloped by my gallant knight
marvel to behold
his daintiness is a prize
I wish for a tandem ride

On the beach, a cute girl I passed by
I decided I must catch her eye
I tripped on a rock
Went face down in shock
And I wished I could curl up and die
On a cold wintry day of December
a praying owl with jewel eyes of ember
helps the stars in heaven dismember,
as the moon prays to remember.
On the Savannah, animals co-exist
Why can't we, what did we miss
Part of our brain
Missed the last train
Twas the last train to Memhis sealed with a kiss
on a summer breeze
sweet scent of blooming flowers ~
hummingbirds feeding
sultry and humid
heat carried on zephyr winds ~
parched earth needs quenching
on the mosquito
before spruce biting fleas flies
the cottonwood tree
once again bitten
all over my arms and neck
by those mosquitoes

On a ferris wheel enjoying the love
An opportunity to propose thirty feet above
A thrill enhanced
A wonderful chance
To ask the big question didn't need a shove
On the age old scale of one to ten
Today is happy and started out as an eleven
It's a matter of choice
We all have a voice
Perseverance is key to winning out in the end
On Feathered Wings
dispatched to heaven
on feathered wings of angels…
a child’s fervent prayers
Inspired by SKAT A’s contest.
On the age old scale of one to ten
Today is happy and started out as eleven
It's all a matter of choice
We all have the final voice
Perseverance is key to winning in the end
on the horizon
red then orange peaks through clouds...
sun plays hide and seek
cold rain saturates
pale pink running rose's blossoms...
tears for fall's demise
On top of the food chain
Ocean’s great predator
Of dolphins orca’s prime
One clever hunting pod
Outmanoeuvres its prey
Onslaught starts on signal
Over once flesh devoured
On a sunny day we sit by a stream,
I offer him a cherry cone ice cream.
Seeing how melting one drips
as supple pink down my lips,
he says he’ll lick those instead and I scream.
on a wilted branch
follow the hovering crow~
waiting patiently
it is turning dark.
boot birds go back to the nest~
rows of drooping eyes
