The adult equivalent of children losing their innocence
is when adults come to find a much greater, broader open mind
because they've lost their ignorance....

As the clock of war is loudly ticking

Broader the smiles of death become

For the passing away of souls is thinking

Onto the oblivion’s horrific land!

Stardust
As sun’s rays start to dissipate
the evening stars can hardly wait.
Bit by bit, their sparks of hope
rouse the night to broader scope.
Rubbing sleep from opened eyes
they cast stardust from the skies
as sun’s rays start to dissipate.
The evening stars can hardly wait....

Premium Member Artist and Nature
Strange how
the artist and nature
are at odds--

I would portrait
every moment,

while her broader brush
is one of constant change;

I pause,

listening to wind's
rolling crackle,
the pummeled leaves,
thrashing branches
on weathered eaves--

snapshots of
my defiance.......

More than a handshake
a passionate kiss and
embrace,

we are connected in ways
even broader unseen –

connected in our labors
and dreams…

in our joys and griefs

in our compassion
and blistering briefs~ how we petition
our god

our forgiveness
and our sentences

we share our prisons

both the Jailer and thief...

You'll find it is a good idea,
now and then,
to look at the bigger picture:
see with a broader view
the workings of your fellow men.
A word of advice, if I may,
please, don't stay too long,
be sure to always come back soon!
One learns next to nothing
about mankind
by looking at the earth
while standing on the moon.

NOTE: Another oldie....

Probable Options In Life
Within mundane days
Countless options haunted once
Until best opted

Nothing rise nor fall
Only learning lessons gained
Real experience

Time and space don't bind
Anything comes in mind's eye
Heights and slopes achieved

Sparks of lights mingled
Consciousness creates matter
Reality without

Broader perception
Discerned beyond paradox
Life is a pattern....

Jimi's groovy guitar leaps
Psychedelic anthem beats
Certainly a broader reach
Than what banal mainstreams seek

Janis sang in passion rough
Too much for the upper crust
Voice of insistence and rush
Love songs with a gritty touch

Jim's strange Doors opened destined
Music of scant time's lessons
Fallen stars burn in legend
Breathless at twenty-seven

The Devil Loves a Do-Gooder
The devil loves a do-gooder,
One who expects everyone to come to order,
Because their vision is much broader.

The devil loves those with good intention,
As they are likely to have a poor sense of direction,
Which could lead to an insurrection.

The devil loves those who rely on a faulty compass,
Who hang around campus,
To make sure everyone catches the same bus....

…waiting’s knife
slices time in broader swaths
stacking jagged moments
chaffing minutes raw, in existential unease
…one second snags the next
                       …the knife dulls
moments fray and shred
tomorrow folds today; time’s teeth - rounded
memories meld a transcendent balm
deeply rubbed by fading voices

a hospice hallway dims…
one light - grows brighter...

Nickel Big
Poems about Sudbury, Ontario, Canada

There's a nickel big that I feel small.
A coin to wonder where you'd spend.
One broader than your shoulders.
One much to large to lend.

There's a nickel big in Sudbury.
A city home to miners.
Where mining for our nickel
is not meant for the whiners.

There's a nickel big from in the Earth.
A coin come from the heart.
Where money is for spending
and nickels for the art....

Premium Member The Deeper Reality
Beneath the busy theater,
a little trap door,
modest and illusive,
opens to a space
infinite and peaceful—
a broader dimension,
resonant and real—
the silent birthing chamber
of all possibilities,
including, by surprise,
the gears animating
the action on the set.
One may find the door
and bask in this continuum
by stepping out of character
and shrugging off one’s script,
releasing and recasting
preconceived props....

The Most Authentic Life
The man lives with what they give him,
being one of those needy people
 who can't construct his own
or even select from a much broader range
 of things to be.
 The man is awed
when he gets the signal to be awed,
 when he receives signals about
 enormity of this and that
 his eyes should be disbelieved.
 The signals might say
 "this dwarfs you";
or could say, "this is beyond you,"
or that "the beauty here will humble you."
 It will....

All That Read
these things that you write, vague and deep
fitting no one and yet all that read
inspiration, interpretation
as you write about life and needs

you told me once not to obsess
much inspires but it's never direct
I still read, but with a broader aspect
it is about you, when I reflect

these beautiful words written on a page
drawn from your heart and God above
experiences learned and thoughtfully penned
written emotion, a labor of love...

Premium Member Negative and Positive In a Few Words
If you and I have a negative attitude we will not have a positive latitude or reach a positive altitude. God Almighty wants us to reach out and to reach up. He wants us to spread out and to spread up and through Christ Jesus and the Holy Spirit as our pilot, we will have a positive attitude, a spread out latitude and a spreading up altitude, meaning to stretch or expand to a broader surface to shoot to a greater distance in every direction. (Ephesians 1:1-23)...

Premium Member A Displacing Faith
Stalwart, salient, silent,
broader arms release / embrace
our metered miles.
Measured with the tenuous touch
of when to now.
So paused, we then invent, somehow
this time of shimmering moments.
As the darkness of dusk is lapped
by the edge of the day,
heads all bowed, the new nuns pray,
faces bathed in the blue-white
spiritual light of i-phones;
angels walking this new earth
with faces wearing the crowns
of haloes that have slipped down....

Mother Earth
Mother Earth has taken thou which heaven giveth
I dare not repeat, retreat, seat, top or beneath
Hurricane charges, yet feather-light heavily troubled soul
Soleless, yet aloof stands
Oh Earth! Oh mother! Oh murder! Oh death!
Cold are thy feet
Hold mine wrist
Chide mine drift
Oh scold! Bark! Shout! Speak! Shake! Move! Mother!
Farther towards father, thee sail
Further from mine brother
Broader to lands...spade, an aid
Not delayed that mine rite be paid...

Lurch
Scrolls raked along
the crevices;
limits of a breath
patched, thick.

Chiseled down the
rumbling bark,
brimming loops,
cross road nooks of
trembling passion,
scorching rues.

A crumpled hearth
of perpetual dormancy.
Raw upon the
lisping drones of the
bamboo,
broader than the
clearest black,
an influx- grim, vivid;
cryptic on
morsels of my
slumber, dampened
ears...

Flashes of detached
voices, intuitions;
monotonous as this
tread-
a lurch; different
yet whole....
