Shady Way

Your cheeks are tending to the ground
And I’m so slow today
Look at the memory I’ve found
Before it flies away
The lifeline furrow on your palm
Runs through the hills and dales
Inside the storm it could be calm
Despite the blowing gales
My glasses gleam with gold and brown
I have to go again
I cannot see what time is now
Could be the same as then
No winds, its stillness here today
Along the waters green 
I’m following your shady way
To let you know I’m in.

Willows In The Wind

We went for a walk, one windy day,
through the woods, and along the way,
she said to me, "If you please,
let's sit a while, it would make me smile, 
beneath these shady willow trees."
Yet, as just then, a gale-like gust blew by,
in apprehension, I asked her, "Why?"
And with a flirt, a lift of skirt,
the lady promptly did reply,
"On my first date, not to prevaricate
or equivocate, I don't osculate.
It's not the wind beneath my wings,
or a draught up the shaft I love,
but the breeze between my knees."

Sunny Side

Always walk on the sunny side of the street
where the grass is always greener
my advice... give a wide berth to the shady side
(unlike Little Red riding the 'hood)
as over there the streets are meaner
better yet focus on the good
where life is pleasantly serener
maintain a positive outlook
and keep a cheerful demeanour
please don't be annoyed vex or hex yourself
(so as to avoid a scandal)
like the wicked old witch on her broom
who when angry flew off the handle

Greedy

Don is my dear daddy,                                                        Daddy loves tasty toddy,                                                     Toddy drinking is his hobby,                                                    His hobby is high greedy ,                                                 Greedy overcomes his body ,                                                 And his body becomes shady.

The Shady Ones

Too bright the world maybe in eyes of different colours, 
but wicked eyes do fail to see the light in hearts of others.

With warmth the sun shall shine on souls that overglow, 
undoubtful faith in innocent hearts will add to the devils woe.

Signs of revulsion the hateful show on face and in every cry, 
with glee and pleasure they are quick to mock with hate in every sigh.

The prideful ones sparkling they are in reflections of shattered mirrors, 
but ignorant thoughts will surely lead to a life of a thousand errors.

Envious eyes disguise themselves behind their innocent looks, 
but some expose hidden cupidity as words in open books.

Too many shades the world does have for those with great require, 
but only colours that bring us joy are what our hearts desire.

Today’s world can relate
Separation
Black Man’s nightmare
All about fear
Tormented
Name calling
Woes
Blood that flows
The idea of being a minority
True reality
Just to survive
Attempting stride
No trust
Town of a past
Freedom at last
Shady Point
Didn’t inspire me
No dignity and honor
South scent
North went

Shady Kady

Ray met a wayward Lady. 
That swears her name is Maybe.
Ray said to tell Ya.
Maybe's some Fella. 
And wears a Shady Kady.

Sunny Side and Shady Side

Sunny side and shady side
They don’t usually collide
Reconciling midday sun
Makes them equal, they are one
Matters least which side you go
Walking fast or walking slow
Same is true for rainy day
Street is wet, each side can say
Walk on here, passerby
Other side’s not worth to try
Its old pavement is uneven
It has nothing to believe in
Crooked houses, beaten slabs
Puddles, parking lot for cabs
Same can say the other side
But it’s pointless to decide
So whatever side you’re on
You are there, then you are gone

Brady Loved By Shady Lady

Tom dug deep in dell
had been on the way to hell
would sit for short spell

Brady we could tell
in love all the women fell
head started to swell

who would take Tom's place
down new candidate will chase
between ears short space

be big bar bouncer
a super sports announcer
some event sponsor

was Tom Brady
many deals may be shady
loved by each lady

need ability
to have much mobility
also agility

Ask not what you know about plutonium
- Ask what plutonium knows about you.

Naughty Lady of Shady Lane

Here lived the notorious spinster
Who seduced her naïve minister
An afternoon tryst,
Only happened twice
Back then, it was rather sinister.

Shade Tree

Occasionally we discover
a shady spot on this path we wander
stopping to rest and contemplate
how far we've come we begin to ponder
why we did what we did
or didn't do
Loved who we loved
or disliked who we didn’t care for
Would we be enjoying the journey more
had we decided on a different route
If we hadn’t ignored the warning signs
or if we had
If we’d gathered the guts to go off the path
and cut through 
What we may do or not do
as we continue on that we’ll later dwell upon 
at our next opportunity to sit under a shady tree
