Premium Member They'll be no hop scotch

They'll be no hop scotch with a broken crotch.
No gyrating like Elvis with a fractured pelvis..
Don't plan on doing the hoot Chie cootch.
Better settle for a smooch.
No leisurely long car rides, not until the pain subsides..
If you are planning to stand, better keep pains meds. at hand.
Just want to sit a bit? It's painful until the bones knit..
Our pelvis supports our bodies weight, if fractured one
must rest and wait.
Two legs are less efficient then four, if there's life after life,
I will need two more..

Elements of a Dram

Earth, with her fertile ground used all year round
Strong and consistent and new growth persistent
A yield from a field, and a brood of oakwood

Fire, he strikes a match, we start a new batch
Set smoke in a kiln and give life to a still
Begin the real process and start to excite our noses

Air sends a gust that bares a friend, anaerobic right till the end,
We lay it down with care and let the angels have their share.
Let’s give it some time, meanwhile I’ll write this rhyme

Water is here so pure and clean, always from the “world’s best” stream,
Drop-by-drop dilution, phenols and booze in solution
This ancient refreshment takes us closer to perfection

Spirit, In the base of a glencairn, it’s time for my tastebuds to learn,
I’ll give it a smell, a wee sip, and I can tell
That this for me, is exceptional whisky

Watch Them Drinking Scotch

what we all would watch
him drinking bottle of Scotch
for each drink carved notch

became rescission
when we made a decision
to watch television

grass seeds we had thrown
causing the grass to be grown
grew around each stone

the affair did stun
and life had been over and done
was shot with a gun

Watch Scotch Who Would Botch

after drinking scotch
what we did do was to watch
plan they had would botch

up efforts will boost
while we watched a chicken roost
that they always must

we would like to wish
always again and again
free us from our sin

fight with an ally
worst was fighting without them
would prefer the first

wonder which is worse
living a life of leisure
struggle until death

putin ounce by ounce
bad news and on will pounce
also try to trounce

they played a tom tom
had a lot of RAM and ROM
sounding like blasting bomb

did learn how to drive
were certain we would survive
then remain alive

never gave a hoot
we prefer to prosecute
finding all the loot

we had heard a bird
knew was totally absurd
liked her coffee stirred

Premium Member Scotch Pine Guards and Sun

Scotch pine guards solemnly keep forest secrets
Walking steadily in the cold wet stuff, we marvel
At the beauty of Mother Sun shining above pine guards.
Sunlit glory protecting mystical, magical forest nuances.
With her full force dazzling light. Keeping us in awe
Revealing nothing, hiding her owls, foxes, and deer.
Keeping us safe from them and them from us.

Bonnie Scotch Ladies

Oh !
The swirl o the kilt !

The Maid
There was an old maid of Pitlochary whose morals were truly a mockery
For under her bed she'd a fellow instead of the usual porcelain crockery !

to the haunt o the pipe !

The Lady
Each time Lady Sutherland swooned
Her bosoms popped out like balloons
But her butler stands by with a gleam in his eye and lifts them back in with warm spoons !

Hopscotch With Some Scotch

"HOPSCOTCH WITH SOME SCOTCH"

there are times
when I wonder about
everything that has
happened, everything that has
put me inside
my current location in
life. when they
gave me air only
to drown me,
when the claws ripped
my life apart,
when the dirt was
thrown over my
casket with the lid
open, everything seemed
like it was fruitless.
here I sit
with these words. Here,
I sit with
the most glorious of
thoughts: I’m still
here, I’m still Chicano
Eddie and that
ain’t bad.

Clouds are nice and take many shapes
If you don't believe take a look
They travel fast and can reshape
Clouds I see like a picture book
Sometimes see angels or an ape
Observe in sky they can't escape
They're great to watch from site or nook

Clouds fantastic God's creation
Benefit man are here to stay
They're like marshmallows in motion
Moving fast or slow in clear day
They look so soft and bring emotion
Clouds bring rain can cause commotion
But they're fun to watch any way.

Short Snort of Scotch

Short Snort of Scotch

We will be going on trip week from tomorrow
And a bright idea I recently tried to borrow
Must be careful making sure I don't botch
By forgetting to bring along a bottle of Scotch.

Finally the ship so sleekly away had sailed
Everyone had to pass test after they exhaled
To see if any Scotch on their breath had been
And later would they want to drink more again.

Top of ship deck was marked for hop-scotching
Which is where we would always enjoy watching
After too much Scotch all over were jumping
With much anxiety their hearts were pumping.

After hopping and hoping were over and done
Each hopper and drinker became the only one
Who ended up without any secrets to hid
Now are members of crew and there they abide.

Ship hasn't sailed since in straight line anymore
Soon as it finally could near complacent shore
Had one more Scotch which was a short snort
And looks like they landed in the wrong port.

Premium Member Ode To the Scotch Broom

The hillsides are covered
with miles of Scotch Broom.
Pretty to see
but an allergy doom.

This transplanted weed
should not be here.
It causes allergy symptoms
most of which are severe.

Some one once decided
Broom belonged in the garden.
That person's now reviled
and should be begging our pardon.

Early Spring the citizens
with their spades go out
trying to eradicate all
Scotch Broom that's about.

But it grows and grows
and will not die.
Bad for the allergies
though pretty to the eye.

Beneath my window
is quite a display.
My sinus reaction
is the same as to hay.

I sneeze and I sneeze,
my eyes water and burn.
Lovely as it is,
I'd rather have a fern.

Oh yellow and bright
Scotch Broom you are
the most annoying plant,
and that is by far.

Go away, go away
back to your isle.
It's allergy season
and my sinuses you rile.

This ode to the Broom
is sincere and real.
Please cease and desist,
that is my appeal

Premium Member Scotch

How many brands of scotch whiskey do you know?
It seems its popularity continues to grow.
Scotch has garnered worldwide support.
It has become a big British export.
Distilled from fermented barley malt,
this is something connoisseurs exalt.
Scotch has a unique smoky flavor.
This quality makes it a beverage to savor.
Scotch is not a drink produced in haste.
Aging for many years gives it a smooth taste.
It can be mixed or enjoyed straight.
Any way you consume it, it is considered great.

A Glass of Scotch

She poured another glass of scotch
And gulped it down in one;
She knew the answer wasn’t booze -
But dying wasn’t fun.
