Premium MemberDeanna's Waiting

Deanna's waiting
With all the emotions of a young women cascading
Now the bend in the creek
Makes her knees weak
And her thoughts of this man are
Filling a heart set to clamour
You bet her sighs matter

When we met in our eyes
It was love at first sight
So don't let this moment end
Or it's my heart that'll rend
I didn't know a dance
Would kindle romance
And Deanna would have to wait for her chance

Premium Memberfor a moment

In the rush of living my heart stops

between each beat

and for a moment
or maybe just half a moment

she is there.
Not once, but always;

Waiting for me
between those beats,

in every one of my remaining days.

“ I miss you.”

Written as if the sun’s passing mattered more.

As if being uttered with muttered words,

heard only in the hollow of a poets’ dream,

could bring the past to life

or resurrect a love.

Premium MemberThe bonfire

Was this simply a predestination or one fate made true? It all happened so fast, just as my eyes can blink from green to blue Paper flowers unfolding; artificial growth of life's prose that show rhymes have nothing worthy or anew Tampering with the speed of this time machine, I have lost the governor's screw I'm shaken by how heavy this hammer hits, and then the bell rings as though it was threw Maybe it's just the pointless pounding in my head or the hatred my heart has walked through? The sun's getting really low now, while my memories are shaded from its view Except for all the ones that you and I have faded to If you're reading this, also know that I miss you But like the fire I'm sitting by, my heart is broken, much like the sticks that started it; in two

Heavy clouds above me
Why don’t you leave me to be
Rain on me or leave
Let the sunshine be
If you’re clouds from heaven
Take me now
For my pain is too great
As you see my scars bleed
From heartache

Across the murdered meals,
cigarettes stabbed here and there
into sorbet,
bits of chocolate flake cake,
he will start to relate their story,
but she will-
	t-t-t-
and tell it over the uncleared plates,
coffee spills,
to others shiny eyes
and the eager nods of her friends-
Until he didn’t know her
or how they had begun.

Premium MemberThree Quarter Sad

Somewhere in the silence
Of what might have been
A memory walks to the Jukebox
'Drops a quarter in......

That old song was just waiting
For her sweet embrace....
But the edge of forever
Cuts deep down my face

Where hurt meets the dance floor
That waltz, we loved... flows
As hell has an encore
And heaven is closed

Reliving the dying
Of all we once had
I'll be dancing forever
To three quarter sad

Never forever
And three quarter sad.......

Somewhere in the silence
Of what might have been
A memory walks to the jukebox
'Drops a quarter in.........

Premium MemberBrenda Loved Brennan the Boatman

Brenda penned a story about Brennan the boatswain in Bermuda
Who had bought a Bavaria 43 barque for a sailing adventure.
The story began with the ballad of Brennan:
'Come sail with me, on see-saw sea
Becapped, bedecked, emblazoned blithely, a blast!
Your love becalmed in my arms embrace.
All aboard, all in, with my deck I beckon.'

As the rollicking tale unfolded,
Brenda fell brow over boots, besotted, in love with Brennan.
She found herself browsing more and more online
Searching for 'Bermuda', 'Brennan', 'Bavaria Barque',
Hoping to find a real Brennan on board, waiting becalmed, with arms beckoning
For her to embolden her text and join him.

Eve and Aiden, both 16, gave in to temptation to try the "hug drug."
Cuddling and kissing ceased when she succumbed to the drug,
Suffering an unusually bizarre reaction--just shy of death.
Two weeks later, unharmed by the drug but guilt-ridden,
Aiden sat by her hospital bed staring at the murmuring machines,
Silently praying for her recovery and for forgiveness. Eve and Aiden--
Young virgins who took a foolhardy risk to satisfy curiosity!

Premium MemberMagic Kisses and Valentine Wishes

The year my dad left for heaven
My mother made a valentine.
She decked and turned it into a pleasant one
making it for her special love divine
She looked at it as a devotee consigned.

She damped it with kisses sublime.
Then she cut its middle of the heart
and placed her photo in a slit with a rhyming
quintain and she wove a red ribbon smartly
I could thus easily read her wishes partly

“Love you dear, I’m happy to be your wife
To me you’re like a rock through bad times
Your love has blessed me blissful life
To me you're my cascade in all the good times
Waiting and wishing with you to reunite”

Premium MemberGoodbye Dear Child

Goodbye Dear Child

We will see you again

We will love and pray for you

Each night until then

Please find it in your heart

To forgive your mothers

Blasphemous heart

Please forgive her

For believing in “Pro-Choice”

For taking away your voice

She knows not what she has done

In this decision no one has won

Words can’t begin to describe

All the pain she's in

Saying she's sorry

Won’t wipe away her sin

For her decision she surely pay's

She surely pay's each and every day

Goodbye for now dear child

We will see you again

We will Love and Pray for you

Each day until then…
