Dawn of the Sabbath

Sabbath rest hastens
sunset charisma lightens
my weekly burdens

Sabbath Morning

So that you will know
the darkness of flowers
I will kiss your lips at first light.
I will provide sweet morning rain.

Because you must have poetry
I will make breakfast
pouring jasmine tea
arranging what we both like
onto sky blue plates.

You should have music.
I will call for Mozart's little bird.
I will call the great hook beaked
seafaring gulls
to serenade these drowsy

Whispers in the Night

In twilight’s hush, where shadows gently blend,  
Glenn’s voice ignites the night, a guiding spark.

Remember The Sabbath Day - Exodus 20: 8-11

In today's world, the sabbath is just another day
no different from any other people say
but scripture makes it so very clear
it's a divine commandment all should obey

God calls this day a holy day
one which is devoted to God alone
for He commands six days to work
as the Lord did rest as should His own

Healing On Sabbath

As apes that muddled the streams rather than quenching their thirst
Pharisees went to the temple for mischief; not to pray.
Like death-stalker scorpions, in stinging, they were well-versed
In the man with a drooped hand, the predators found their prey.

Compassion, like nectar from the herb, dripped from Jesus.
He saw the withered-handed, by psychic worries, stranded
Empowered by the

Sabbath

As ravens, Pharisees were filled with destructive pleasures.
Termites of Puritanism had been eating up their minds?
They thought they had fallen from heaven as truth possessors.
Each of their ape-like actions, had endless evil designs.

Poor humans, unlike these, worked six days physically hard.
Shouldn't they rest to vitalize their physique and psyche?
The Sabbath was a day of rest.

Sabbath in the Holy Land

  The Sabbath has descended on the Holy Land
    Seven million Jews ‘midst a miracle in sand

  Tonight all look to the sky 
    to spot missiles aimed at the heart of God’s eye

For some the beginning.
For some it's the end.
For many; days just merging
Into the blend. 

But the concept of Friday
Is simply this;
It's the end of the work-week
Sealed with a kiss.

It's assurance of respite.
It's that glorious space
Loaded with promise.
It's the end of the race. 

That comfiest armchair
Those slippers so snug.
It's like greeting a friend
With a lingering hug.

Sanctified and holly day
All mankind happily rejoice
Browsing the bible the whole day
Bowing down to God with praise
Another day is on the corner
Thundering sweet temptations
Humans are crying for divine protection

Diligently watching and waiting
A trumpet to solemnly blow
