Rope Poems | Examples

Lynched

A rope of rumor, a knot of hate.
tightens around a name.
It pulls and loops through mouths
like a saffron thread snagging on a needle's eye.

The rope yanks him from his doorstep
to the street's cold dock
and wraps around his right to exist.

The rope reeks of pasture,
of green fields that once held peace.
Then it tightens with glances
circling the cloth on his head.

The rope is coiled again
For the next name.

The end of my rope

You tied the noose that I hang from
I stare at the writing on the wall
I feel like all the words are written wrong
My feet can’t find the stall
I wish my thoughts would just be gone

I am the rope in which they tie
I can’t seem to shape the future of my life
Got me thinking am I the one who’s ready to die
I decided to roll the dice
Sick of living a lie
Why did I think twice
Now I’m begging for a reason why

Premium Member At the End of Our Rope

He never runs out of patience
gives us as much rope as we need

We can use it to climb our way up to Him
or hang ourselves with our misdeeds

The Rope Broke

The Rope Broke
By: Aundrea Methvin

Standing in the pouring rain
His hood pulled up, the warmth barely affecting him
As his sorrow engulfs him
Tears streak down his cheeks
He holds a single rose
Two centuries have passed and still he mourns
They had battled, hell, he still bore the scar from the freshly forged heated sword
Yet he loved her … still loved her

Even if the only proof of her was this stone carved with 1666 and the word Hung
She had been condemned, and he had been at sea
His foolish mind had been yearning for gold, yet his heart had been given to the blacksmith’s daughter
Now he weeps for what could have been
Yet in the wind he smells the scent of Sweet Clover and Hawthorn
His heart skips a beat as he desperately looks around
Then he sees a shadow move just within the ruins of the forgotten cemetery
She stands and smiles … What did you think that I wouldn’t wait for your return?
He drops to his knees, scared to move, scared to blink
Surely this vision with her hair in the wind was a break in his mind
Her hand caresses his cheek as she leans in and whispers “The rope broke.”

Walking On Tight Rope

When walking tight rope
Use your heart and mind
To balance the situation
To never get fall
Don't look elsewhere
Focus your mind forward
While concentrating on the rope
Let the heart control the inner
Stretch your both hands sideways
Like a feather for wind control
Step the right foot forward
To leverage success
Until you reach the end
To victory and never came back.

THE ROPE

One end anchored in faith, and
the other in the solid rock, Jesus.
Fibers of love, mercy, hope, peace
strong strands interwoven.

A guide when the storms of
life beat against the soul.
A friend to grasp during the
deep drifts of depression.

It is always there for me,
never moving, never breaking.
I am the one who lets go, from
arrogance and self- centeredness.

Age has strengthened
my grip. I have no desire
to let go.

Premium Member Rope a Dope

Granny’s words like a blue bell ring true
How you get him is how you’ll loose him too

Playing with words phone sex as clarinet cool
When the reed becomes dull what will you do

When the instruments become familiar ground
Will pink passion be still fashion of solid ground

Are your high hopes and gropes like rope
Enough room to breathe enough room to choke

Premium Member Pumping Iron, Jumping Rope

    Pumping iron, jumping rope
      don’t agree with me
    mainly because
      I’ve two problem knees

    But 16-ounce curls
with a cold can of beer
    move me to sprint ~
      to any restroom that’s near

Rope of Hope

Grab ahold to the rope of hope,
Rise into your moment of destiny,
And change your world with heaven’s might,
For you are destined to shine forever bright.

In this leap year, your destiny is open,
Spring forth, for these are your moments
With you is more than those who oppose,
Together with heaven overcome the foes.

Let prosperity be your garment, with wisdom
Let out of boundaries, become your new boundaries,
Break yourself free from the normal routine,
Grab heaven’s moments, for they are so divine.

You are created for such a time as this,
To fulfill and build many legacies,
So keep stirring up the inner gentle voice,
For you are sealed with this Gentle Seer.

Rope around the heart

Choked, escaping existence
Tighten,
Beating heart skips
Burns that stretch
Painful
Hurtful
Dying bliss
Gathered like a lasso
I can’t breathe anymore
Tighten…
Breathless…

Premium Member Donkey Taps the Rope Bridge

Donkey stops to tap the rope bridge now
Tap Tap Tap Tap Tap Tap
The snowy owls watch, waiting, wondering,
Pondering what donkey’s next move will be

The girl on his back is a bit alarmed
The tapping continues
Tap Tap Tap Tap Tap Tap
No one else is on the bridge, but she holds her breath
Wondering what donkey knows that she needs to know.

Fears of An End

The taut rope is tightening,
Fears of an end heightening;
No hope of it loosening:
The craziest reasoning…

Yes, helping hands slackening,
A quite bright day darkening;
Now, a sight quite sickening,
The vigorous weakening,
Tough men turn the defenseless,
As tough women the helpless…

On could pick out the listless,
At that moment quite useless!
Only the crown free from scratch,
High fever never to catch;
My own world: a spinning cone,
My own home where one may moan…

Now, features are hardening,
Few remember gardening;
Why? Loss is widening,
Its horizon broadening.

ROPE

Belfast made so much rope
The factories could hardly cope
They were stored in great sheds
On big wooden beds
Then shipped to the Cape of Good Hope

Surprise of Heaven

Surprise of Heaven come to us
God is greater than each of us
What He does is beyond our grasp
We can only marvel and gasp

Break the alabaster box and pour
Giving ourselves to Him forevermore
Lavish love and lavish praise
Let our worship forever raise

Swap our pain and our distress
For His peace and spiritual gifts
Rise in His power and be certain
To put fear and confusion to the cure

God doesn't judge like us, He is love
Walk the tight rope with Him without worry
He will come to us and empower us
Walk in faith, no need to regress

Come to Him and manifest
As a new threshing instrument
Let God manifest His gifts through you
Our God is the champion of heaven!

Premium Member Rope Is Not the Snake

brainwashed we float
aimlessly adrift
in a sinking boat
wasting life’s gift

conditioned belief
in bondage to ritual
how’ll we turn a new leaf
living a life virtual
