Fortune alone is slippery, so sleek
It slides fast and vanishes so quick
Surprising us rarely, once or twice
Not from our tossed coin or rolled dice
But from sweats where we reap the prize.
Hostages to fortune are easier to catch
Like counting chicks in eggs unhatched
Coming frequently when election rise
So many promises over unexpected lies
Causing betrayal, cutting strong bonds and ties.
Hostages to fortune throw impulsive acts
Sorts of gambling taking risk to the max
It’s lighting hope on a melting candle wax
For a wheel of fortune to roll out from the box
In the end, business catastrophe or fiasco rocks.
I found myself in Japan,
somewhere on a highwire-bridge,
balancing two feet in a haze.
More than two feet above the solid ground, way up high.
My eyes dart to and fro. Where I started from, I don’t know.
In a country, not my own. Travelling with eyes shut.
I’m with someone - my spouse?
In a dream with forgotten baggage,
it seems - do I remember this clearly?
Clearly not, as I’m told to roll over,
and by the way I pressed the snooze
button half an hour ago, or
I’d not progressed over that bridge without rails and eyes.
Somewhere in Japan - having no idea where I am.
I woke up thirty minutes later, back at home.
I roll out of bed, instead of onto my side,
pushing the sheets, pillows, my spouse
aside for the coffee cup, wondering why
I remember this dream where I left my feet and my eyes.
Is there really a bridge of this sort - how can I find it?
Where did I leave my baggage? Back at home with all my clothes?
Who needs more clothes when you are who knows where?
My mind seems topsy-turvy, as if I’m three sheets to the wind.
It is not a puzzle worth solving; stirring cream in coffee. The end.
Once upon a time
In the context of a rhyme
I asked something of you,
If you would say, I do
No fanfare and no scene
Just cowboy boots and jeans
A flower for your hair
That evening in my chair
A Paris honeymoon
Roll out of bed at noon
Champs Elysees sweatshirt
A floral patterned skirt
A walk out on the rue
Hand in hand us two
A toast of Veuve Clicquot
Forever dos-uno
Outside Nashville somewhere
A cozy cabin there
Hidden out of sight
Lit up by bright starlight
Rustic wooden floor
Boho style decor
I'll bring you through the door
You're all I want, no more
“Beyond her limits, searching out new sand-
exuberant with life, she takes her stand.”
_by Poet
The ocean breathes with rise and fall of waves,
and with a passion, hunts the peaceful shore
to endlessly roll out her swell that craves
to crash the rocks, withdraw, and thrash once more.
Though calmer wind and current often paves
her tranquil scenes that turn around the score;
akin to peaceful flows of placid streams-
her ripples glow on mirrored moonlit beams.
Imagine sleeping on a roll away bed not holding steady
Overnight sleep ride
That’s what every roll away bed provides
It comes when a person turns over in twist and turn
The roll away Bed is not firm
It’s about move
You certainly wouldn’t be smooth nor soothe
You would find yourself somewhere all over the room
Travelling without ever getting up at no charge
Take it from me, I have experienced sleep being no option
Journey to anywhere within
Unplanned moment, but anticipate
The Roll away bed has the right name
There’s no telling where you will aim
Full of no sleep surprises heading for the door
Roll out definitely for sure
You mean so much to me
But at times I do not say it
Nor even treat you that way
So may this poem
Express to you my love, devotion, and appreciation
You are the star on top of my Christmas tree
The fire that warms me on a cold winter night
The song I hum when I am happy
That memory I cherish all year long
My social media favorite
My ultimate crush
The best daydream
I wish I could roll out the red carpet
Every time I see you
Because you are
My celebrity.
NOTHING MISSING, NOTHING BROKEN
With your head, roll out drums,
Mighty trumpets in their stead,
And like Eagles soar higher in the sky,
The skies of your mind,
Do not crumble on vain things,
And do not hijack your fights_
From within.....
Never you nurse or nature,
Thoughts of negatives
But like the lion, swim in positives
For the whole essence of life,
Is synonymous to dire softness.
For the Knower squeezes,
The oozing chant in her hue,
While the plangent solo dies
The strange strength of a fish,
Lies in its tender thoughts.
Make your thoughts tender,
For all is but a staged drama,
And sooner, we may leave.
As I tender to you
This tender foliage wand;
Undress these emotions,
Negative tongues waxing
In a pillock of confusion...
So, let’s zhuzh up our thoughts,
In this torrid and bogart spheres;
As I reverberate yet again,
Nothing missing, nothing broken.
Finally, I wave you all, shalom!
Roll out
Anywhere
Circling the room
Maybe a stop in Chicago
A good night sleep going left and right
Hard to sleep tight
All happening at night side to side
One could find themselves sitting at the front door
Rolling away twist and turn soar
Sounds more like a dance
A roll away bed doesn’t stop
Moving front and back
Next morning hard to keep of the rolling track
It’s a wonder that the rolling bed doesn’t eject
Let me roll back on that
It’s a set off
Roll out and on
Buckle up
In the quiet dawn of March,
When winter relaxes its cold grip,
The daylight stretches its arms,
While serving a dynamic delight.
The sun, shining vibrantly,
decorates the sky with hues of hope,
Clocks leap forward eagerly,
And daffodils happily endorse.
Daisies roll out wispy vows,
Their petals, intricate art pieces,
Cherry blossoms’ fancy bows,
Dance intensely with the spring breezes.
Birdsongs jingle the mornings,
A symphony of joy and rebirth,
Old wisdom is whispering,
To initiate and leap forward.
They usually show up early
Today some came an hour
Ahead, and its only Tuesday
What brought on that enthusiasm in this shower.
They could have waited until
The storm is over around ten
Staying at home and
Lying in their warm bed
But out in this horrible, terrible
Cold, wet weather
In those damp, smelly trucks
How do they endure it altogether
And yes, some of them are drivers
With special training with CDLs
And can use those joy sticks
To pick your roll-out carts up
It's barely midday and I'm here shaking
Shaking cause I've not had anything to eat
And I'm here carrying heavy things around
On an empty stomach..
The rent was due last month
And we into a new month I'm yet to pay
The landlord has me in he's radar now
I can't go back home early, I'll get here late
When he's already gone home
Cause if he waits me by the door
I'll have nothing to give him
Cause I've not had anything given to me
The heat is intense today
My body is heating up I feel like I'll blow
So I'm here panting, hoping to cool off
Cause I'm out of air I couldn't keep working
I'm hiding behind this pile of dirt
Cause if the foreman saw me
This would be my last day here at work
And all that money would just go, I have to stay
I never thought this is how life would roll out to be
But it's been rolling and I'm rolling like a stone,
that's lost course, I just keep going
Hoping to hit a wall and maybe my mind would be at ease

The Walker
Sometimes, there is a sense that the road doesn't
roll out further, there is no vista of a highland or a slow-running river of sweet water to lazily swim
while remembering Marilyn in Lazaro's jewelry shop, a dream so vivid, not dim, as the years roll by.
It is time to take the boots out of the cupboard try them on, and feel how they make your feet walk
Travel light, a rucksack will do, and a solid walking stick to fend off dogs.
The upland has no rain, although it might shower
on the way there; at night, you can seek shelter
in an empty bear lair and sleep well till the thrush
says it is time to walk on if you want to find the place you know is there, over the horizon
In the dulcet knowledge of the longer one walks
the younger one feels.
