Rewrite Your Story
By Michelle Morris
31/12/2024

Let this be the moment
Let this be the year
Rewrite your story
Stop living in lack and fear

Release the past to the past
Bury the ghosts and the baggage
Choose your Path and your Destiny
Make a Life of weight free carriage

Remember that you get to choose
Every moment of every day
Adjust your crown and seize the day
Adjust the sails to horizons unnamed

May the magic of your Life find you
May you create it through your actions
Igniting Joy and Happiness forever
Through the Love and Light you imagine

Der Spiegel news possible a rewrite

Der Spiegel In Kashgar

Where the Silk Road begins, I bought an apricot
saw a young Fidel Castro on a bike
The woman who sold the fruit wore a red shawl
over her shiny black hair knotted under her chin
and yellow silk dress
Do you see this man on a bike?
I asked the woman who sold fruit by the road
he is Fidel Castro of Cuba and is a famous man
except in the USA.
Kashgar is the biggest outdoor market in the world
Europe is puny, colorless, and far away
why was Fidel doing in Kashgar, so far from Cuba?
I tell you, he is looking for a tobacco dealer
to supply him with cigars, the USA is too close
to Cuba
A longer Silk Road is being built with pipelines
and trains to Hamburg's famous market of whores
selling flesh from dimmed-lit rooms
If you want to buy a peach, you have to go to Kandahar
or make a movie.
The man on the bike was a secular pope
his enemy tried to murder him for sixty years.

Anxiety: Rewrite from my free verse

I couldn’t shake this feeling, so surreal,
In a dark tunnel, air begins to steal.
With the air, the light fades away,
Choking, gasping, clawing, I sway.
It’s not a tunnel, it’s water, I sink,
Slowly slipping, on the brink.
Pulling, struggling, to rise above,
A siren sounds, am I losing love?
Can’t breathe, can’t move, can’t think, can’t fight,
It’s not a siren, just a constant plight.
Beep, beep, beep, thump, thump, thump,
The beep fades, the thump a gentle bump.
A slow glow of light, above my head,
Then the realization, I’m not dead.

When others
play by the rules,
in their comfort zones,
my spirit
craves
the unknown.

My soul
only knows
to disrupt,
to innovate,
to rewrite
the game.

It's imperative to alter the narrative,
so get out a round of ream.
There's a knot in the plot,
a lost theme with out a seam..
You pause and you pivot.
The script leaves you livid,
falling short of your dream.
Stopped, stalled between acts,
little time to retrack,
as your pen is running out of steam.

Bring back the taste of homemade gifts
normalize giving straight from the heart;
A look back is how this mindset shifts;

Time together is a good place to start,
the best present is to be in the moment;
Life is so much more than a flip chart;

Hanging for hours as the clock’s spent
is more priceless than a diamond shore;
As it happens know what it meant;

Be grateful for every grande adventure;
Start now! Let’s go rewrite December.

I Wish I Could Rewrite the Past

I wish I could rewrite the past
(Give humanity another chance)
By Michelle Morris
23/08/2020

I wish I could rewrite the past,
Remove all the heinous
Atrocities, destruction and loss;
Give the wisdom of connectedness,
Collaboration and peace;
Goodwill and integrity,
Friendship and freedom...

I wish I could rewrite the past,
Give humanity another chance,
To become one happy family at last;
No more borders, wars or games;
No more egos, power or gains;
No more sacrifice, suffering or pain,
Only the best of our hearts,
To create heaven on earth in His name.

Separated By the Sea Rewrite

Separated by the sea they say, separated by the water, but that will never be true as love can’t be slaughtered!”

“Love can’t die! Love always stays alive! Love is everywhere you go, love never lies!”

“Love is always there, you can feel it even if I am not there!”

“In my heart you will be, no matter how far you are, no matter if we are even separated by the sea.”

Anathema Woman

Her independence deferred
          History wipe, silenced in denial
          Component of family unit secure
          Current form stands as emblem
          Entirety kindly quiet unheard

          Cleansed of horror occured
          Corpses buried won't stand trial
          Heinous parade she could endure
          Hosts pretense without problem
          Outline dent, identity blurred

          Safe matriarch role preferred
          Sedating sandarac sent via smile
          Dizzying aphrodisiac calamine cure
          Disarming smooth cabochon gem
          Exhibits traits 1950's referred

          Dissolved scrag, unburdened
          Drama curtains pull closing titles
          Screenplay prosperity props are pure
          Scripted mid century holds them
          Outcast character murdered

This Land Is Your Land But With a Quarter Life Crisis

This life is my life
Why is this my life
So I shout YOLO
Maybe I'll try van life
Cause escapism
And romanticizing
Are all that's really driving me

And maybe one day
I'll really do it
I'll quit my job and
I'll get right to it
Because they told me
That time is money
So right now I'm rich as I can be

America the Beautiful But With Millennial Angst

Oh dutiful, foreboding debt
That I know I must pay

For education I must get
To pad my resume

And yet I feel like I've been robbed
For now it sadly seems

That I can barely get a job
Let alone one of my dreams

My Country Tis of Thee But Relatable

I have anxiety
I can't sit quietly
Inside my brain

Cause part of it is fried
And part of me has died
I said "I'm fine" I lied
I am in pain

Premium Member What a Token Can Be Rewrite

I hear the song of Magic Sleep
On Soundscapes during the night
The days now are so quiet
Neighbors next door vaccinated with children
Have short parties and cookies and juice
But then cars disappear and sounds suddenly are reduced

And as silence returns I ponder
When and where can I retrieve
What I was and now can be
No more driving — careful of seizures
And medicines which make it harder to see

At this time of life where can I
Leave my mark and where can my
Token of an existing life truly be
Yes I take care of my pets
A crow and squirrel and I
Meet for breakfast regularly

Perhaps after the next shot of vaccine
I can return with food and puppy treats
For pets and veterans' lunch pleasant and serene
But pain is always there so I seek help and heat
And on evening Wednesdays I will listen to the hum
Of meditation with others and the Teacher's welcome

And so my token of life may be
A badge of acceptance in a small slice of life
But not diminished to any great degree
Elements of change a union of soul and body
A living token of the great branching tree
The tree of life both active then still

As all living things will be.
