rewrite
Continuity
is assumed~
before and after
framing stories
which appear to
rewrite what is
spontaneously
happening~~
As lovely geisha
That can stop any man
With just one look
And is taught to move
To and fro
With fans n clogs
For all to say ah
I have anxiety
I can't sit quietly
Inside my brain
Cause part of it is fried
And part of me has died
I said "I'm fine" I lied
I am in pain
Be the enchantress,
Drive them to loving madness,
Watch the moon undress.

Run away
From the past
Run into the
Present
Run towards
The future
Wipe the slate
Clean
Erase the past
Rewrite the present
Create the future
When others
play by the rules,
in their comfort zones,
my spirit
craves
the unknown.
My soul
only knows
to disrupt,
to innovate,
to rewrite
the game.
A writer of flowery verse
Thought Shakespeare was much too terse.
Feeling that Twelfth Night
Could use a rewrite,
He made it a whole lot worse.
Yesterday is already old history
Let's rewrite how today's events will unfold
Together we can create magic

George Floyd's death surely pulled the trigger
On a rewrite of traditional American history --
Today's events, being part of a pitched battle
~ so very much bigger
To the rhythm of Spanish castanets
The tempestuous autumn wind
beat the mosaic of colorful leaves
into a twirling, swirling flamenco dance

Ready to embrace change
Relinquish the old self
Remember to be firm
Reach for the lofty goals
Resound the steps to take
Rewrite any strayed goal
Rekindle dim embers

NOVEMBER
November saying hi
October says bye
Valediction for succession
Enter like a magician
Moving things from best
Bringing them to your chest
Edit and expunge the worst
Rewrite the trailed test
However cheeky that sounds, that was the jolliest Lent of all times. All 31 times. Why not getting that? Wait a minute then, I'll rewrite that. That was the jolliest three months of all times. All 124 times.
I would love you again
and madly...
Would be again
for you hysterical...
Would atempt to be in heaven
without fear again...
Would not hesitate
rewrite our history
and again would repeat
the mistake... !

What did you expect
a monkey with a typewriter
can rewrite Shakespeare

Oh dutiful, foreboding debt
That I know I must pay
For education I must get
To pad my resume
And yet I feel like I've been robbed
For now it sadly seems
That I can barely get a job
Let alone one of my dreams
I wet my finger
with my tears
as I turn the page
It's time to close this chapter
and move on to a new day
I don't want a rewrite
because I learned through it all
but to make myself a better person
and for you not to fall
Words are shoelaces
string them right
and they allow you to move
else they can trip you up.

I rewrite it in Serynu:
Words are shoelaces
stringing them right so to move
else can trip you up
Sleepy- learning more each minute.
Breathing- trying hard till I quit it.
Blinking- seeing if i truly see that.
Thinking- is all I ever need and
Luck, love, living, loss and if I -
show you who I am,
Will you show who you will be?
Break out the shovels
They say that rhyming's dead
Let's plant one end in the ground
And through dirt on its head
But, before you do, remember
The classics that you knew
Rewrite them in a different form
Let's see what you can do
Never say that you cannot
Always be willing to give it a try
Believe that you can
Continue on before the water runs dry
Take things one step at a time
You can rewrite history
The harder the battle may seem
The sweeter is the victory
It was not easy,
to rewrite a dream poem
when you are bound and hurt.

A twiner
looms out, at my window.
Like a face, peeps in.

Do not want to tell,
about my sorrow,
before the dried up river.

Hazel the eyes that dim on flight
And gazing low, she pauses there
On royal boat to rest on quay.
Fair princess knows what to rewrite
While bridal court duly prepares
Against her will, she rows away.
Senses For A Sextet
Ashley Conte. 11/8/13
I wrote a poem that alleges
that I left her a little too rough around the edges,
and would I kindly try to rewrite.
So, all night long, I added and deleted,
moved around and repeated,
till she finally said, "Yeah, that feels just about right."
