An Open Fire

I miss an open fire.
Warmth, these days, 
is breathed out of the thin lips
of a plastic vent commanded 
by a button.
There is nowhere now 
where I can sit 
and stare into the depths 
of a dancing flame, 
enter that sacred space
where thoughts and mystery 
meet and reconnects something 
in me to its earliest roots. 

I miss how an open fire 
centres life around its glow, 
how it works to draw us in, 
gathers us to share 
in its living warmth. 
I miss how it fills in the silence 
with its sounds,
the crackle, the whispering hiss, 
the sudden bump 
of a falling log.  I miss
poking and prodding 
the charcoal remains, breaking
them apart and seeing embers
ignite into a bright spill of flame.

I miss the smell 
of burning wood, the incense
that first sanctified our ancestors
humble homes and awakened 
a wonder that set us off
on our human quest.
I get it that an open fire is now
not an environmentally friendly
choice but a polluting relic 
of the past. I know 
the romance of it
no longer thrives.
It's rather like old religion,
better gone, but it leaves
a hole in our lives.

Say it like it is

Dead of the night, when we should be asleep,
we feel soma nectar drip through our throat 
and as refrain of bliss plays on our lips 
feeling God in each electron of space,
as thought forms stall, we see our false self fall, 
being of course, benediction of grace, 
the breath of God that enlivens our form, 
reconnects our core essence with the source 
and as we are swept away in this storm,
God speaks to us and childlike heart listens.

A FRAGRANCE FROM THE SUMMER RAIN

  When the first drop of the summer rain

touches the dry soil

there springs a fragrance

stronger than sandal wood

eucalyptus or elaichi.



It's a treat for the senses

that longs for the season's sensation

It's a earthy scent that

reaches far and wide.



The joy of feeling the rain

along with an earthy odour

is like a free trip to a fairy land



It is the smell of earth

that reconnects us with the nature

The smell of mud in the air

lifts the spirits to an extent fair



Its the grandeur of  "Geosmin" that lingers around

blessing us with 'Petrichor"

the perfect partner for a cool summer abound.

Show me God

Beginning with body-mind we ensoul,
our heart tells us our true form’s love and light
and so do ancient scriptures we extol,
but what is the path that bestows clear sight?

Concepts serve no purpose, so we must see
directly with our eyes, sans thought flow crutch,
for it’s God’s grace alone that sets us free,
transmuting our form, that we learn by touch.

When we are still, awareness self-aware,
reconnects our core essence with the source,
setting love aflame, as head and heart pair,
drawing in bliss mists, without use of force.

In timeless time our false self falls away,
upon which we see God’s light, clear as day.

Virtues of Empathy

Who would have unconditionally warm eyes
to see and appreciate this sacred grace
you have to offer
Beauty?

What Tribes
not yet extinct
have boundless warm inviting ears
to hear
and invite
this wisdom you have recovered?

While binding Trust discovered
with Others
to compassion's Left
and Right-sided
Truths,
waxing communal therapeutic thoughts
and waning isolated trauma feelings

Communal cultured experience
usually in-between ecstatic and entropic
virtuous rounds of resonant
resilient Indigenous Wisdom

Feeling while touching
win/win work that reconnects play
in sacred EarthTribe minds

Unitarian Yin temporal flow
absorbing
secular AnthroPrivileged bodies
born of EarthMother wombs
forming universal Yang places.

Who has not touched
and felt
circulating blood
and revolving Earth
and warm tidal waters?

MonoTheistic enlightenment
from FatherSun above
and PolyTheistic empowerment
from MotherEarth within,
reconnecting bipartisan
LeftBrain dominant 
spirited resonant minds
with RightBrain prominent
naturally resilient bodies

Reconnecting 
one EarthEmpowering
enlightened 
multi-regenerational Body.

Your Essence

Your essence radiates sunshine within.
Our tenderness fills the crevices of my soul
For when our two spirits meet.
Life begins and the earth stands still.
For the heavens above open up our innermost desires and dreams.
For the dream is what we share.
This is more precious than any earthly value.
The core of my inner soul stands alone within the darkness at times.
Our love is the light that leads me back to our path.
And reconnects our hearts as one.
Without it I am lost.

Encounter

I've seen it before, lovers long parted
 gone their separate ways, forgotten over the years
 lost in time;
on occasion as if destiny waits
 a connection slips thru the hourglass, floods of memories return
 and the heart reconnects;
just for the moment, the brief encounter surges
 old feelings and emotions, experiences and memories
 rise to embrace the encounter;
then in a second
 the moment passes, 
 lost in the cloud of having been.

First Place

Of Water

To be on water is to be of water I'm told
The sea a deep blue and unsettling cold
Offshore waves roar in and relentlessly roll 
Cleansing rounds that forcefully come and go
In many ways water is what makes me whole

Sailors proclaim water eases mental pain
Replaces rage and grief and peacefulness remains 
Water's spirituality is a blessing to maintain
It never fails to deliver me from a life mundane

Rhythmic ocean swells crash wildly to the shore
Powerful breathing reconnects my inner core
Time spent on the water passes time of before

I savor opportunities to be with water's universe
With great respect for the sea and all this incurs

Time by the sea effects the body, mind and soul
  
Water's medicinal effects are wondrous to behold
All negativity evaporates and serenity sustains 
It always leaves me thirsty, coming back for more
Men of sea have useful knowledge to disperse
If all these waters abandon me, life would be painful

Camping beneath the shimmering stars
Makes me realise how insignificant we really are

The moonlight gently caressing the world outside a canvas door
Such a beautiful, calm picture, I often find myself longing for

In the wilderness, back to nature
Far from the ever growing lights of the town
Away from the hussle and bussle, far from every thing that makes me frown

The peace, the tranquillity 
Time to consider your own reality 
Following the natural cycles of the earth
Some how reconnects you to your own self worth

Sleeping from dusk till dawn
Being woken by the birds morning song

My insolent heart
is audacious.
It dives into your words
Feels your presence,
Makes love to you
Shamelessly. 
My insolent heart 
Knows the truth
That 
you are unreachable.
still 
it ventures around old memories, 
recalls ,
recollects and 
reconnects 
Irresistibly. 
My insolent heart
Takes me away from sanity
Gives me a false hope.
Makes me irrational
Causes irreparable 
Damages.
My insolent heart

It immigrates to a forbidden land where

Restrained flow of ink expressed from a dusty pen,
to the faded paper creased like a wave in an angry sea, 
tucked inside a tattered notebook,
closed until another bittersweet day when the golden sun will rise.
