Southwest
It was a soft rain -- yes, I stated soft,
for rain has many texture -- some even
color. Imagine a spectrum-brush dragged
across a well wetted, primed sky, which
muted technical, dully call~ a Rainbow.
It was a long anticipated rain:
Saguaro Sentinels weary, dryly
on guard -- bristled their natural pins and needles
A night, of many,

Monsoon passion when spells
Sky when with dense clouds abound,
Seeing which peacocks dance around
On tender-green-dress-bedecked a hill,
In such a stirring scene, love-bound,
Which wayfarer wistful would not feel?

Summer Sojourn Serenade
Your song serenades
A whisper, a prayer
Light as a feather
That's breathing fresh air
Clouds can't discern notes
A pitter, a patter
But they mimic your song
Midst raindrop clatter
Like tears from Heaven
A whisper, a prayer
Light as a feather
That cleanses dispair

DAILY GRATITUDE LIKE A CHILD DANCING IN THE RAIN
Today I’m grateful I’m still able live a life
like when I was a child dancing outside on a rainy day
smiling
laughing
arms waving freely
unafraid of getting wet
enjoying every raindrop
and ever step along the way.

A Small Crowd
Fallen leaves knuckled
below eddies float again
swiftly shimmering.
Rain withers with gray
asphalt rising. Curbs cement
puddles running still.
Sunlit raindrops stop
hissing at guttural moans
tickling us for laughs.

Rustling winds
always precede a winter storm.
Ice, as sleet, comes next,

SOIL SOAKER
SOIL SOAKER*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
rain
weighty, intense
piercing, soaking, saturating
refreshing earth’s firmament
soil soaker
Capricorn rain
Across the great plain with sun sprinkled path
they frolicked with the golden buffalo clan.
Dodging black powder chaps along the way
they moved about strong and steady
like a necklace of runaway slaves.
They were cornered at trickster's cliff
guardian angels were on permanent hiatus.
I guess it just wasn't a prosperous gig.
Many leapt to their misty valley fate
Rainfall Reflections
A hush of gray descends, the world outside a blur
Of weeping glass and dancing leaves, a gentle stir.
The scent of wet earth and cooled pavement climbs the air,
As warmth from a steaming cup soothes away all care.
In her hands, a porcelain hug, the tea's floral grace,
Sweet steam whispers against the skin of her face.
The book
The sky didn't rain enough
I opened the door
it was unfamiliarly wet outside
the water eroded the memory
I have opened the wrong door
each door has a history
didn't know that
so I accidentally changed the story
now I'm entangled
it feels like drifting through the ocean
while seagrass has taken over your body
pushing you back
I don't want to go back
it is dark and wet
Falling Winter Sends Rain
Rain follows the fading winter's breath
In the tangled field,
where bristly ryegrass sways
Emerging green, the blades do rise
glimmer in the verdant hue of shamrock
like the lively notes of the cuckoo's call
Whispers dance upon the undulating meadows
The fragrance of the soil—
its charm, a whisper of rain-kissed ground
Silver whispers of yearning
Softly sung, a memory lingers still.
Between dream and memory, I dance on the rain that falls slowly
Between dream and memory, I dance on the rain that falls slowly,
I didn't run from the cold drops, but caught them on the tip of my tongue,
Laughter and chaos spun in wide circles of joy,
I stepped on water with bare soles, and the sky was close to us.
We whispered winter stories under the gray and
