In its special serpentine style too deep to fathom
while submersed beneath I was surprised to see
the world's second most venomous reptile
a striped Dubois' sea snake swim by me
when forewarned of dangers quirky lurking in the deep
altho' arriving suitably attired with fins mask and snorkel
it was sufficient to almost scare me out of my diving skin
so severe as to make my heart skip flip or turn turtle
but being bold brave of heart and fleet of flippered-foot
swiftly did I surely doggy-paddle safely away
tho' no harm was done to me a close call or so it seemed to be
which I survived to recount alive here on this another day
quirky bats from lemon flats
rolled up into the orange mats
did not come out until Halloween
hidden until they chose to be seen
the children liked them right away
parents were not yelling “yes, hooray!”
but children are not fearful until they are told
by people who are prejudiced, staid and old
She's called "The Quirky Flipper"
Her countenance serene.
Vibrant, free and full of life,
Purple, blue and green.
She exhibits her flare from sea to sea
Entertaining all life marine.
She has a speckled underbelly
Stipes of black and white.
You will get a glimpse of it
If you time it right.
But only if she back flips
In the sun or moon light.
She is super friendly.
Her talent is second to none.
She swirls and dances every day
And this is just for fun.
She brings joy to the glum fish
And softens the scary ones.
Her difference is her super power
Unique, one of a kind.
You can search the oceans many times
None like her you'll find.
She wants to share a message
For us each to bear in mind.
You don't have to fit in to matter.
Your difference can be your beauty.
Make your quirkiness your strength
And the results will amaze you - you'll see.
Be content with you as you
This will set your spirit free.
I once had a friend named Kishore,
Who during sleep always did snore;
One day he went for camping,
He staged his feat while sleeping,
Eversince, friends called him a bore.
He’s called Santa, Fatman, at times Saint Nick
His flying reindeer are what’s truly sick!
Kids get Santa’s Naughty or Nice List drift
Kindness becomes them, for an awesome gift

Why Little Red Riding Hood
Seems you're steppin' out
Dodgin' bullets and pullin' clout
And what happened to the Grandma stop
Did she want you out?
The whole forest heard her shout
So come on, what was that all about?
Ohh my hooded and cloaked babydoll
You are a vision of vixen
An icon of dazzling brilliance, beautiful and thrilling
Your hot breath on my neck is chilling
Blackness, Darkness in a jar
Your Ying with my Yang
Playin' chicken in different cars
Together we could go so far
So why then are we slammin' shots in this dive bar?
Little Red Ridin' Hood, with thigh-high red leather boots
Long red gloves, blood-red lips, and eyes of black
A David Bowie moment or a panic attack
Take it all back
Cuz diz fairy tale been cracked
And a poetic daybreak is a matter of fact
So you go girl
Little Red Ridin' Hood hit that trail, I got yer back
And the brothers Grimm - well they'll be checkin' in
Dealin' Sin and with the help of all things heinous and supernatural
Let the games begin
White horse, black heart, Little Red Ridin' Hood
Take your start
Fairytales and Razorblades
Sitting here alone in my book
Waiting for the words to give back what they took
All of them just lying across the page
So nonchalant yet full of rage
Time is broken and when the pencil snaps
This becomes the beginning of the end
And then
The story is over and it all fizzles and fades
Never to be remembered
And filed between Fairytales and Razorblades
Yep - another one for the Books!
we call her quirky girl, but her name is Sue
She has striped socks and striped shoes
Her curly hair is in all kind of rainbow hues
She wears pink eyeglasses with hearts said Lou.
And a red cape, don’t forget that said Sam.
Sam has a bit of a crush on our heroine, he is a lamb.
She is so cutesy petootsie, you will love her too!
This was said by many who spoke of little Sue.
Quirky girl, I thought that was my own name.
But here was a girl who has much more fame.
The whole school knows her, and she is clever too.
She has a sense of humor and a big smile, our quirky Sue.
I met a creature at the park
that I did not recognize
in the dark
Its eyes glowed under its chin
and its schnozz looked broken
Its mouth was upside down
one-half smile, one-half frown
A mushroom hat covered its head
while its body was teeny-weeny
like Charlie Brown with a beanie
So I said 'Hello,' nice and relaxed
-- and sloooowwww
At once the creature fired back
'Do not eat the yellow snow'
At which point I decided
where the hell N. Ed Dibble AI can go
An old chow chow in Albuquerque
is often called odd, weird, and quirky
He drinks only prune juice
His best friend is a goose
and on Thanksgiving he weeps for the turkey
It flew into my yard one bright autumn day
Reminded me of feelings
Severed sometime back
As the burly tattooed man attended to his chores
“They're beggars of the Earth.
Revolting creatures at that,”
She said mockingly
As the burly tattooed man walked out of the shed
My life began to be renewed once more
“I knew of one that attacked a child,”
The old women said
As the burly tattooed man blew it away
The nun is taking coke,
the pope is getting mad -
he told her not to choke.
Her habit's getting bad;
her doctor's even worse,
but drinking makes him sad.
He sped off in a hearse
and gambled quite a lot,
then stole a robber's purse.
Today is very hot,
the judge is getting tired -
he smoked a ton of pot.
I hear they're getting fired...
(Will get round to returning comments tomorrow)
just some nonsense for Nina's quirky tercets contest, written 8th April
We kiss goodnight and close the light;
just moments pass, and he is snoring!
Why is this brain of mine still bright
with thoughts- oh my, this is so boring!
The same old process I go through-
once snuggled in, my mind's exploring
those things that I forgot to do,
like lock the door and pull the drapes;
turn off the plugged-in crockpot too.
This isn't fair, and I go apes
in second-guessing what I've done-
full yes or no somehow escapes!
So from my comfy bed, I run
without the slightest hesitation-
to find at last, that I'd missed none!
Now, back to bed- this aggravation-
for sure's my quirky aberration!

They said I was an “old fart”
But I hardly think that’s true
My boobs were done in ‘75
But my teeth and knees are new.
And since my eyes were lasered
I have 20/20 sight
Though I like to sit on 50 k
And hate to drive at night.
All in all I object to “old”
But “fart” is another matter
For I think the valves that seal the gas
Now leak as I’ve got fatter.
To add to the indignity
And make me feel antique
Sometimes when I sneeze or cough
I spring a little leak.
So if you’re feeling young and smug
With a body like brand new
Just remember in 30 years
This figure may be you!
The connections are brittle
And don’t work like they used to.
Sparks are a little dimmer
Sometimes don’t work at all.
She has quirks and phobias
She has to live with
Disorientation a familiar state of mind
Emotionally unstable
So easily distracted
Thoughts out of sync
With what comes out of her mouth
Thinking she lives to avoid people
And fight the headaches
She’s slow and suffers from anxiety
At her best when she doesn’t remember
What she can’t remember
