Life is short

Life is short they say
So you better make the most of it
But what happens When that's not the case for everyone
Where there are some
Who are constantly changing freedom
Whilst simultaneously hiding in the shadows
Hoping to see tomorrow

So how can one live life to the fullest
When the odds are stacked against you
But when you're black this is your reality
A life controlled by anxiety

Where our life is a puppet
The strings are the shackles
The puppet master is a system
Where the audience are the racists
And their laughs translate to racism

Life is short but we have to spend it trying to survive
Constantly trying to hide
As if we were on the run from a crime
The crime at hand being black
As if our existence to them was an attack

So yes life is short, but for us It's even shorter
Where we are hunted for fun
And our main focus is survival
So I'll say it again
Yes life is short, but for us It's even shorter

a phase shift, rather than a
tilt, lean, sag or bend,
to shine a bright beacon light ~
to see, and be seen, in sync

A Very Catchy Phrase for A New Content

Imagine this,
I put up like this,
There is no end to it,
The night came in,
The creeps give the chills,
I wonder how to feel,
It is the sequel,
The storyline is captivating,
Very eye-catching,
The movie Serpent is in search,
For a more dramatic and chaotic impact,
In this hour of darkness,
I can still feel the sensational,
Of going on an adventurous journey,
Is this a survey,
Or a rental one,
I could be someone,
Looking through and through,
I spotted a feline,
Of a different kind,
I don't mind,
Give me the sign,
The next blockbuster in line.

I dropped a coin into the slot

And when it stopped all I got

A reminder of what I lost

Now once again be damned the cost

Premium Member Random Phrase Hiku

sounds of pounding rain

illuminate the sky

clearing my mind

Premium Member Fading Dream

too late to refuse
to be subject to abuse
of those long gone blues

the failure to comprehend
all that was needed back then

each makes their own way
emptiness unfilled by phrase
darkening some days

dreams shot at and downed
expectations run to ground
leaving without sound

of story with no ending
too long lost for beginning

dreams won't make it so
long past time to turn and go
where sad stories flow

not much left to mourn
what our younger selves had sworn
we too became torn

sometimes we pluck a prize rose
sometimes we grab a sharp thorn

what the fates disclose
cherish the highs cast out lows
life is filled with to-and-fros

A calling for help
A calling for God,the almighty

Book

Let me read you like a book,
Allow me to understand the hardest phrases in your vocabulary,
Taking all the time to smile, laugh and cry like you did,
And when am done, allow me to be a part of the next chapter.

One Phrase

Call me a Poet,
but I’m just a writer
these words that I breathe
respoken much later
Call me a Poet,
my couplets in rhyme
each stanza to shorten
with meaning sublime
Call me a Poet,
my retinue sounder
to live by the moment
my squares getting rounder
Call me a Poet,
I’ll call you the same
if one phrase you’ll tender
—attached to your name

Thinking Outside of the Box-Buzzwords

"Thinking outside of the box keeps you from suffocating inside of one."Matshona Dhliwayo
Thinking Outside Of The Box-buzzwords

The four tall walls
Suffocate me.
I can no longer,
Breathe.

I kick and scream and cry
I need the light
Please, I beg.
Oh, I beg.

Rocking in the corner,
I see the light I so crave
I run and run and run
Never looking back again

Once the light is hitting every part of me
Only then I realized
I'm outside of the box
And the four tall walls collapsed to nothing

In My Own Way

How many times have you heard someone say
You take my breath away?
I would never recite such a cliche
Lacking in rhythm and rhyme
And is hardly sublime
No, you are worthy of greater for sure
You, the only one I adore
Deserve words of beauty pure and raw
Neither would I give you anything poor
Wanting in elegance and so much more
I promise to pledge a greater array
Of a beautiful phrase not dull or grey
And you will exclaim, tell me again
Hence, I shall convey in my own way
Powerfully elegantly I will say
My Breathe You Take Away.
