The Moulin Rouge at Night

At night, the Moulin Rouge bursts into life
with orchestrated music and bright lights,
where singers and cancan dancers excite
audiences who applaud them with delight,
and is a splendid place to patronize
for entertainment when in Paris, France,
where, by happenstance, people may unite
seeking merriment or discrete romance.

Why Would Anyone Buy A Tesla And A MAGA Hat

Why would anyone patronize Elon Muck?
Muck rode the coattails of his friend Donald Duck
Muck and Duck went up the hill
To serve us a bitter pill
Their fascism has left the country horror-struck

Muck's shaking of the tree, and kills the forest
His cleaning of the house affects the poorest
He's slashing a sword at regimes
And sending our country downstream
Muck pulls puppets strings, and Duck's the daffiest

We All Matter

Looking at us with the gesture of impudence
Seeing us often can't be an coincidence

Cup and sign in our hand, asking for help
Hungry, desperate and have not slept

Reached out to hug your family with a tenacious grip
Looking at us like we're contagious; hand over lip

Pass by quickly, nose in the air with a frown
Please, don't glare at us whilst we're down

So, don't patronize us with your dry, "Sorry"
Of course we don't matter; that's your story

Take time out to hear some of our stories
Many of our lives had plenty of glories

Frequent the area, get to know some or all us
Next time it can be a chat instead of disgust

Respect us, we respect you
We matter just as you do

Unity starts within the community
Love and compassion unite humanity!

Cutting the Pizza

Our final night in Montreal,
To take a break from fries,
We saw a nice Italian place
We thought we’d patronize.

We ordered salad, beer and wine
And, perfect for our sharing,
An interesting pizza
Which they took their time preparing.

When it came out, we were surprised
For, though it looked enticing,
It was a perfect circle
Which no one had started slicing.

The waitress then provided
Not a slicer like we know,
But a special sharpened scissor
Which went smoothly through the dough.

The pizza was delicious,
Cooked to absolute perfection,
Which we happily devoured
As we snipped each brand-new section.

A tiramisu finished off
A most amazing meal,
With our unexpected scissor-slices
Part of the appeal.

Cascading Consciousness

Oh painful pain lingering
throbbing unjoyously
flaunt that false grin again
bring me terror of the unstable mind
where rabid horses trample garden gates
where pampered vines bleed broth and sap
no food no flavors just herbal failures
not yet extracted
the untended tend to decay
“thank you no” do I ever say
I talk I think I never pray
gracious gratitude fails twice
to patronize with sincerity
I then bend as if to bow
in garbled words of paradise lost
I mumble hollow truths
to appease omniscient listeners
who know nothing but ideal fears
admire and adore their perfect faults
escape/avoid/evade the drought
desiccated hope like dust is blown
out of your mouth and into my mind
dreams become fossils
molehills colossal

Premium Member Truth To Tell

Please do not patronize me
Instead, tell me the truth.
I will not fall into a heap,
Or shout and hit the roof.

I will appreciate your honesty,
And treasure you as a friend
As long as you don't lie to me
I'll love you to the end.

Thank You For Your Servitude

The powers,
the powers 'that be'
wish to thank you
for your on-going servitude,
for your compliance,
conformity,
acquiescence,
gullibility,
subservience,
apathy,
disinterest,
inattention,
and your willful or blind ignorance.
We gratefully accept
your abject submission
as we strive to eradicate
all opposition
and discussion.
You are the very best of sheep,
the most loyal of lambs.
We applaud your
naiveté and lack of interest
in our secretive regime.
We keep your secrets
so you do not have to.
May you continue to serve us
as we
subject,
bamboozle,
hornswoggle,
flimflam,
demonize,
pander,
patronize,
denigrate,
dismiss,
disrespect,
defame.
derogate,
discount,
dishonor,
disparage,
vilify,
slander,
mislead,
misuse,
misdirect,
misinform,
malign,
smear,
conceal,
cover-up
and deceive you all.

I'm indulging myself by re-posting this poem from 2017
because it cracks me up and I thought we might laugh together

Oh, no, he best not patronize me on Valentines.
If I must dramatize appreciation, I shall agonize.

Each year, he thinks chocolates will rationalize
spending his time guarding the sofa so it won’t rise,
while my cooking and housework threaten to paralyze
all I am behind my victimized and exhausted eyes.
Unless he bears one, one way ticket for me to paradise
or procures a gift he ingests that will tranquilize,
he can stuff candy hearts in his behind so gelintized.

The last time I fell for that darned, deceiving cupid
I committed to him and living my life forever stupid.

Women Are Fighting Back

Women, sure, are fighting back:
Don’t rebelling energy lack;
For men’s vicious and hateful whacks,
Their sometimes murderous whacks.

Each time one is made to seem an imp,
Some male body goes down or limp
A confused one begins to sex starve
And can attack with what women have.
You don’t a woman try to jilt
And she sits back to watch you or wilt
A time to patronize men she would dump
Better that than a throat with a lump.

Premium Member Mastery of Mystery

How mysterious a force is intrigue - a poet's plight and salvation, a magnet of unyielding supernatural bliss to our muse. Captivating and drawing us to our mastery of mystery, impetuously impelling us as we patronize our exquisite enigma. We hold our breath to unique and incredible realities as its momentum baits and beckons in a spontaneous burst of exuberant fixation to navigate our tangible senses and eager heart - compelling our revelation to travel through our portal of questions to superimpose our being with magical poetic discourse.

Selfie

Digital dose of pixels, my world of intrigue
where a front camera flashes my pretty face
Shares a picture-perfect life of travel, friends, love
like supermodels patronize, in thousands of poses.
Naive wishes sulking ,"It's still not good enough"
navigate a cluttered gallery of clicks in mobile.
As self-kissing pouts get lost in a vortex of emptiness,
a never ending portal of glued fixation stays alive.
Virtual images tampered away from reality
easy to delete memories, not so exciting enough.
Don't the eyes look so piercing?
Eyebrows a bit too crooked ?
Unbrushed hair needed some more dye?
Oh! the smile is not so well-seasoned.
Charm and poise plain okay, no aura, no style.
I edit and crop using sepia tone filters
Spontaneous magic touches on a tangible screen
emanates infinite snaps of photoshop beauty.
As I keep taking selfie after selfie after selfie....
A revelation to proclaim," I am in love with me"!

Fake World

She has always had a fixation
For time travel
Until she accidently
Discovered a portal
Once she stepped inside
It was quickly spontaneous combustion
As her molecules traveled through time
While trying to navigate
The speed of her movement
After she arrived, and looked around
She was intrigue, when she saw
All the beautiful buildings and stores
She had hoped they were tangible
As she touched them
They were made of sponge
Even though it was a beautiful place
She felt patronize when
Surprisingly to her revelation
The buildings and the place
Didn’t feel real

Premium Member Someday I'Ll Rise

The bouncing butterfly you are
to my unfurled eyes,
leave no enticing film of touch
on the flower I’ve bloomed.

As your motif of intrigue stripped,
spontaneous revelation unveils the heart
for a few transient alluring moments,
generates the current of passion
on which the shards of my yearning navigate
to the portal beneath your eyelids.
You don’t perceive they change colors of desire
until you morph the eyes into prism of ardor.

I patronize my dormant instinct,
enfolding the fixation of longing.
In the depth of my soul I make it tangible,
albeit an entranced fly I fly blind to your fire,
turn to ashes.
In the whirlwind of the turning time,
sweeping the dust of memory,
someday I’ll rise in your sky.

Premium Member If Wishes Were Pure Magic

I have this fixation,
to navigate through situations
of intrigue that end in amazing revelations.

Oh how I love the thought of
 being spontaneous and
leaping through a magic portal
that’s deep in space;
where I’ll discover tangible realities,
magical islands where I can
create a place for me...
just for me, to be;
to exist, ever so carefree...
perhaps even own my own island resort.
Would you patronize me?
Come along and enjoy my private sea.

Premium Member I Have a Revelation

In this forest abyss, I navigate my tender to the touch nerves -
the finger tracing surface pain, a fixation on the all too silent footfall,
prints that talk behind my back. They patronize me with hyena laughs,
lurking tendrils that wind around my path.

tangible tightrope -
the lasso ready to hang
me on fervent branch

Intrigue finds me running, screaming through skeletal fingers —
branches tearing at my hair and clothes. I hear the forest floor
and ceiling laughing at me, driving me to the brink of insanity.
Pausing, I have a revelation...I recall a tale, a wild whopper
of a portal in the epicenter of the woods.

spontaneous thought
dare i enter a new world -
earth’s fraught with danger

I find a clearing up ahead once I step through dense fog. Funny,
I am suddenly all alone with the tallest tree. I know I must climb
into the clouds. I eat the fruit as I make my trek.
Aromatic, juicy, so alive this food.

empowered with strength
leaving suffering behind - -
must be tree of life
