Rising To The Occasion
Awakening peace,
yearning resurrection,
lays in depression:-
We must respond to her needs
with enlightening awareness:-

The cardinal went where the other birds missed
A robin, blue jay, and sparrow had their misses
But aimlessly flew around the garden of roses
Yet so oblivious to the creation of beauty in their path
While this rose stretched her carriage to the sun
The cardinal moved forth and introduced himself
The door was open and the cardinal frenzied in
It was just small talk of unopen presents
And making new discoveries between them
At seeing this the robin, blue jay, and sparrow sank
Like boys at a high school dance that were tongue-tied
There's a spark in the air and a candle waiting to be lit
For the cardinal found a match
The next day the robin, blue jay, and sparrow are saddened
As the rose was no longer there
Two hearts intertwined.
Branches merge into one tree,
Families unite.
Why did you have to go as soon as you did?
Why did you have to go and leave a hole in my heart when you went away?,
Why can I never ask you for advice again?
Why can we never do the crossword again?
I was so upset when you died,
I still went into school though,
just to get my mind off the pain that I felt,
I know you would’ve been proud of me,
My teacher talked to my dad,
Said I was quieter than normal,
But I think maybe I was trying to be strong, for you,
Maybe I was trying to be strong
I still sort of remember the funeral,
We were all in black obviously,
but at the same time,
we were trying to make it a happy occasion,
A celebration,
Remembering the life, he lived and the fame and experiences you had,
All I wonder is?
All I wonder is?
All I wonder is what life would be like now, if you were still here
Night breaking up for the sun to fall,
Its colorwise veil disperse on her snagged back—
By morning, she lays her black cup down
For she is the will of light.
Its colorwise veil disperse on her snagged back,
Dark worthy of van Gogh or Kinkade;
For she is the will of light—
The night becomes daybreak.
Dark worthy of van Gogh or Kinkade;
By morning, she lays her black cup down;
The night becomes daybreak—
Night breaking up for the sun to fall.
The Lord made him Asian,
colored him a light brown raison,
with pearly whites that shined a glazing..
The Lord made him Asian.
He rose to the occasion.
No time for idly grazing,
many new trails he was blazing..
The Lord made him Asian.
He was bold, absolutely brazen.
This man was so amazing!
Love I have found thee
in search of Love
might we remain decent
whilst we
filter out
selfishness, obsession, deceit
and external desires.
Might we define our intimacies as love
between us never
allowing even our own
to pry loose
our togetherness.
In search of love
might we two together
seek remedy in a peaceful
and encouraging way
that even as one might be disappointed
we both might understand
that know one but you and
I shall define us as beginning or ending
that even those close to us may never
speak of what days
we had begun to start or crumble
as freind love
and even helper might we stand together
in love
needing not to search that
what we have together
is enough to move us through
the ages.

You are the special occasion
You are the light of my life
Being with you is a blessing
I love you with all my heart
Our time together is magical
Our memories are a blessing
I thank God and the Universe
For our souls' eternal connection

To mark a big occasion
There should be a special meal,
Most often in a restaurant;
(At least that’s how I feel).
Today’s the anniversary
Of when I met my mate,
So therefore we will dine somewhere
Outside to celebrate.
Without a reservation
We’ll just stroll around the ‘hood
And peek at menus, noting
If the food and drink sound good.
It’s not our usual routine,
But after all these years,
Most anyplace will do to eat
And toast this date with beers.

May all your days be filled with bliss
May nothing ever go amiss
And every time you reminisce
May every memory feel
... like this
Occasion does not creates the thief
the thief is the one who demands the occasion
and exploits it...
In Jerusalem's Holy Temple
the High Priest entered
the Holy-of-Holies once a year
on that Holiest of Days, Yom Kippur
From the top of his exotic, oriental turban
dressed for the occasion was he
Dazzling gems on a breastplate of gold
bells ringing from his cloak for you and me...
...to know when he'd entered to beseech of the Lord
forgiveness and pardon for every Jew's sins
Uttering the Name of the Ineffable One ~
a most solemn proposition
And though dressed for the occasion was he
how humbling to stand, as if naked, in front of God Who
had custom-stitched every inch of his garments ~
commanded him on Yom Kippur what he should do
exquisite affair
by invitation only
with valet parking
revelers come bearing gifts
want to make an impression
