Premium Member THE CORRUPT GUTTER

There’s a constant hammering
Alongside my bedroom window
Repercussions of a corrupt gutter

The maddening drain
Obstinately and persistently has refused
All rehabilitation efforts

There are no
drip drip drips
Only
Pound Pound Pounds
As water clashes with wood and metal

The clangor must be amplified
By a loudspeaker
To make such minute water drops
Sound like a crazed gongsman
Locked in a metallic chamber with a battle mace

With no distinct pattern
The piercing pattering
Thwack Thwack Thwacks
Proclaiming,
“You will find no peace here!”

And yet
Its constant monotone irritation
Somehow
Lulls me to sleep

Spilled Ink

When inspiration obstinately runs low,
And ink stains drench an old copy.
Yet verses silently deny to flow,
While thoughts are damn sloppy.

And ink stains drench an old copy;
As she aspires to get rid of her blues.
While thoughts are damn sloppy,
Seeking desperately for a muse.

As she aspires to get rid of her blues,
Her eyes slowly alighted on ethereal aesthetic grace.
Seeking desperately for a muse;
Rhapsodies of praises she wishes to embrace.

Her eyes slowly alighted on ethereal aesthetic grace;
Motivation imprints the poetess to properly play her role.
Rhapsodies of praises she wishes to embrace,
But situations are skillful to sway a poetic soul!

Motivation imprints the poetess to properly play her role,
Yet verses silently deny to flow!
But situations are skillful to sway a poetic soul,
When inspiration obstinately runs low.

Premium Member Ms Calico

Ms Calico, who comes to me
only on her terms~ obstinately not
at my beck-and-call. Ms Calico
arrives demanding her tuna, fresh from
the can...purrs like an angel
dreaming, her glossy coat licked
proper and gleaming.

No, is never my option when tending
to her needs, myself feeling quite under review
when performing orderly deeds; seen her torture
mice and birds appearing for no other reason
than sadistic fun, affectless leaving their limp
carcasses when her gross pastime done – though,
next to my own, there is no more caring a mother,
nearly died protecting her kittens, my fondest
the runt I named Mittens.

I have found with dogs it is all about
love...and with cats it is more awe and
respect. I became frantic when she
went missing 3 days, my heart
was an abysmal wreck.

The Unforgiving Race

The horse sped by, restlessly galloping
The train disappeared in a blink
The cars are obstinately racing
For a moment, I forgot to think!
The gushing wind is loud and unforgiving
The ground under my feet is trembling.
With an untamed and ambiguous force
Everything is filled with speed and remorse.
I halt to hear, listen through the wildeness
Too slim, too fat, too small, too big
Too lame, too cool, too dumb, too successful!
Too many things, nothing but boredom
Too many restrictions, too much freedom!
Too little time, too much potential
Too ugly, too pretty, too many credentials!
Too mediocre, too ambitious
Too naïve, too pretentious!
Too early, too late
Too bland, too great!
Too timid, too strong
Too right, too wrong!
And I lost the count
When I took another look around.
The never-ending race goes on
So does the constant competition.
Only for a split second, I stopped running
Everything managed to let me down, with the hint of a warning!
This race to please the world is overstraining
You're lost, you're nothing
If you take breaks, you're not the chosen one
The race is ongoing, only focus and RUN!

Premium Member Weeds Will Win

Between fence metal hexagons
Vibrant weed vertical weaves
Leaves poke gaps obstinately
Battle with wire web pattern

Because it can get through,
will get through, determined
To prosper within challenge
To reach potential during tough

Bitten by bug of bad luck
Crammed in pebbly pockmark
Threatened by shade smother
Bedraggled weed creeps up

Bemoaning status wastes energy
Positivity welcomes growth
Rehearsal bears bigger talents
Lustrous jungle is triumphant

Inharmonious Worlds

Inharmonious worlds

We are two inharmonious worlds as a cry.
As if we like sins, deliberately happened,
As if we were obstinately juggling
The calmness of water and moment

Two divergent epochs we are
Between wilderness and return,
So especial and so distinguished
In the width of text and amazement

Listening as if we heard our voices
Runaway from our mouths and burn
Crying, as if their comebacks like lightning!

So miserable this life will be-
If it's not "gathering two separated person"
Misled by echo, not longing!

It Happens

It sucks...
when your owie
remains disregarded
because your adhesive band-aid
decides to stuck itself
obstinately
mid tries,

It sucks...
when the lights to
your preferred restaurant
flicker's off when you all arrive
and its sign says open
daily twenty
three hours,

It sucks...
when our autos
license plates custom-made
said, "HIS" and "HERS" and after our
divorce, she then changed it
so now it reads,
"WAS HIS",

It sucks...
when I go to
the zoo to throw peanuts
to the elephants to feed them
but because of my size
they throw peanuts
at me,

It sucks...
when I was at
the airport to buy a
plane ticket for a noontime flight
she says, "Is that twelve noon?"
I said, "No, it's...
two noon?!?!?"

Ugh!

Reluctant to Being Repugnant and Recalcitrant

Are many times that we may be reluctant,
To ever think about becoming recalcitrant;
Hard to accept,
Even if inept;
Never include someone who is repugnant.

Premium Member A Silent Prayer

PRAYER FOR MY HEART

With evil motives provoking me
Hardening my will obstinately…
My God, I entrust my heart to Your control
For You indeed know that out of it are the issues of life.*

With negative reactions causing my faithlessness
Drowning my soul into doubtfulness’ depths...
My God, I submit my heart to Your grace
For You alone can thwart its deceitful schemes.

With foolish counsels pulling me down to frustration
Leading my spirit to wallow in despair...
My God, I yield my heart to Your authority
For You surely are my Master and Lord.

With haughtiness keeping me unyielding
Weakening my moral-spiritual fortitude…
My God, I subject my heart to Your discipline
For You can smite my stubbornness of arrogance-origin.

By faith in You, through Jesus Christ's name,
I entreat for Your answer, believing...
Thanking and praising You...
...Assured that You hearken to my silent prayer.

*Proverbs 4:23 “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”

Premium Member The World's Unbelief of God and His Word

The God of eternity past and future
has revealed Himself in so many ways
He walked upon this place called earth
performing miracles as God all His days

In the present days, He's given His word
the holy scriptures tell God's perfect will
sending out His call to come to Him
leaving sin so in His presence be still

In His son, we see God fully
being pure kind holy so divine
Jesus Christ begotten of His Father
reveals the heart of God to shine

So God has shown all of his counsel
yet man continually rejects His word
apostle Paul says they suppress the truth
like long lost sheep part of their herd

Oh this so burdens my old heart
man is lost themselves they don't know
they obstinately will not at all believe
no matter what defiantly say no

Satan has this world in his grip
leading them down the road to ruin
all the while God appeals with grace
do they know what they are doing?

Selfish Solitudes

Selfish Solitudes

Dragon demons once possessed
Lingering lullabies of earth’s obsessed
Fallen Angels in the great abyss
Fractured fallacies of love’s first kiss

Emerald eyes parasitic pose
Seductive sting of the red-ed rose
Thieving tears that steal your dreams
Selfish solitudes of sensual streams

Dormant doorways of the deep
Obstinately open when we weep
Scurrilous shadows of nestled night
Sagacious shades of blackest white.
