Premium MemberMany Sides of Wolf

There are so many sides of a wolf never seen
Because of his teeth his reputation tends to be mean
He likes meaty dishes, served up by his wife
He has a howl that will shorten your life

He is also empathetic and kind to his wife and his kits
And he stays forever faithful, loves his family to bits.
He might look ferocious, but he is mystically sweet.
He will allow you to live when you see his heart beat.

The wolf is a loner thus the moniker lone wolf, right?
He is nocturnally alive and eager, prowling most of the night.
If you do not bother his wife or his litter of kits
He will leave you alone, and not chew you to bits.

Astral Travelers

Some astral jumpers land inside their flying suits
like skydiving parachutists,
others are thrown naked into places
where thoughts are fig leaves.

Then they shoot off like toothpaste from a tube
dragging bodies behind them as afterthoughts;
bubblegum minds chewing distance and time.

Their infinite star-charts are parochial,
they map the contours of neighborhood blocks,
trace the four corners of circles,
stroll in the park in the radiant dark.

Mind voyeurs all who travel nocturnally
and vicariously,
folks who can’t stay asleep in their own skins.

Some of their exploits may be read
at supermarket checkouts,
or as tales told to the forever grounded.

Those body flyers and nightly roamers
who ask only that the stars weave
more ways for them to go.

Premium MemberWish I Could Eat a Pear

I am longing for the spring and panting like a thirsty deer
too many days have past since I last felt the sun
beneath anemic skies my body shivers in the clear
I have not become immune to the cold that winter spun
so angling for heat I turn my collar to the wind and shun

the whipped willow tree with her gentle arching ways
her generous weeping branches frozen in mid air
a healthy thrill of scissor skates, a Christmas winter maze
perhaps I used to once but now, I got no Bartlett pears
and my sciatic pain has grown beyond compare

Craving for a slice of heat or a warm wet pool of water
I hanker like a hungry squirrel looking for a nut
hibernate of night nocturnally tucked away diurnal as the otter
perhaps I'm just an old woman falling in a rut
wearing double swim suits while being pegged a hoarder

I'm longing for the blossoms of yesterday's sweet garden
for the roses my father grew inside the lattice square
back in the days when I used to wear Elizabeth Arden
my braids were long and brown instead of barely there
wish it were spring instead of winter, wish I could eat a pear.

Premium MemberFighting To Survive

Dr. Robert Neville must take a stand and fight "The Family".
They are a few hundred mutants who operate nocturnally.
Biological warfare has decimated the world's population.
The Family is out to destroy remnants of the old civilization.
These deformed survivors attack Dr. Neville's dwelling each night.
Science and technology are considered culpable for their plight.
A deserted Los Angeles is the battleground for each fight.
If you are wondering how the end of this situation will be,
all you have to do is watch the movie.

Based on the 1971 film "The Omega Man"
I thank imdb.com for valuable information I obtained to write this poem.

15th Anniversary Poem of Nocturnally Oddball Reflection

My mind is lost, but I am happy
The mirror sees differently, but I ignore
My favourite colours are mystery, isolation, and quiet
My favourite rhythms are softness, softly, and softer
However, my straight walk is melancholy concrete hard
My yearn is in the Winter Snowstorm of a Pink and Green Anniversary
The tears are invisible, and the ocean crashes through my façade in multiple units of salty measures
Yet and still I present my head in this unique period of battered aging
My mind is found, but the 'x' is still the CAPITAL

Uncensored

Night swayed ,
                                smoothly; nocturnally
                             (UNCENSORED)

        Were stars of no decent,
                   (UNCENSORED)

beyond existence of Universe captured the dark souls,
                               beyond; existence
                                         (UNCENSORED)

                   Presently enjoy nocturnal moment's;
                     (UNCENSORED)

Cold pitch darkness surround a waterfall ,
                                   afar; hearing for those
                                 (UNCENSORED)

The Nights Sky

In the nights sky, The big round MOON amplifies
Nocturnally a journey set in motion, as my minds eye opens
Through the SHINING STARS so high, to the MILKY WAY I will fly
Hyperspace I'll travel as time stands frozen, a journey full of emotion
Exosphere has been reached its a convey, to the planets walkway
Nebula's fill the empty darkness, in the distance I can see VENUS
Inferior they say, but her light beautifully bright it takes my breath away
Gliding by MARS in its state of unwillingness, a red hue glows in all its wickedness
Heading by the gas giant I flee, for JUPITER holds his principles in a high degree
To PLUTO it has armor made of ice, the dwarf PLANET its toughness will suffice
So as I reach my apogee, the emptiness invaded by mystery was a site to see
The stratosphere in sight, to Earth draped in deep blue she can really entice
Knowing the journey must come to an end, God I must commend
Youthfulness builds imagination for tomorrow, something we must never outgrow

A Stubborn Flower

At home there is a stubborn flower

Sickening like yaws it is
Touch it and it curls
Undress and it laughs heartily
Break it and it rejoins itself
Beat it and the stick breaks
On her cheeks tears flow as I smile
Rain makes it happy and extra turgid
Night fall makes it twinkle like star

Fans nocturnally celebrate on her petals
Loose is her behavior as bees lick her nectar
On bed of sorrows I sleep counting stars
With this stubborn flower at home
Each day is a thousand years
Roaming my mind is more death than life

Highveld Storm

Oh Aphrodite! Mother of my two pearls
Venus of my night sky
Commander of my world

I fell for you like a comet
I burnt for you like Mars
Abide in my trajectory
While guided by stars

Your sonnet dedication metered
All is written in quatrain
I'm completed in your presence
In your absence I abstain

Diurnally blinded by fire in the sky
Cupped my hand to shade my eyes
And thirstily complain, about the lack of rain
Elongated animals on savanas and plains

Nocturnally beleagered but eternally yours
Seeking answers in ash , while staring at coals
no one hears my guitar so voicelessly strummed
Flames my desire , so forsaken my soul

A hundred thousand embers
Sparked a thousand million stars
Explosions in the ether
Flashing diamonds that we know

Unprepared for this journey
Undeterred my savage heart
Skies are ripped and torn by thunder
Clouds adrift and left asunder

Lonely cloud goes East and cries
The other West, and melted... dies

Artist Hour

it is 3 am....Mind overflowing...Pencil in my hand
Visions screaming out ;to be but on paper is their demand
Late nights and early mornings...best time to create
Nocturnally creative...I guess it was my fate.
With a sketch and a smile something beautiful coming to form
Spewing out my heart ...this paper I've adorned
Should be asleep..in the morning off to work
But nocturnal creating better justifies my worth.

Premium MemberBorn An Eagle

Don’t lose me in the tide,
Follow me through the dust.
I will rock through heedless waves,
Nocturnally beseeching your dead grandparents.
Die on your new definitions,
Retain the baggage of flesh you’ve dragged
As your own identity.
Just don’t forget to soar like an eagle.

OWLS

A Raptor who's lyrics are " who,who,who,"
and do we ever get to know who
These wise old creatures-
nocturnally displaying their best features-
soar in the black of night on silent wings.
Their eyes aglow-to their pray it brings-
much to late-a fear that only sings
all their songs,in tones of dirges,
as their life comes to an end and merges
with the essence of that wise old bird,
that before-it never even heard.
Pray,that all rise
within the heart of the wise,
on their long,and long journey
that leads all to the gates of eternity.

Alphasoup

Add some water
Bring to boil slowly
Condiments will come later
Dolloped desire dropped in
Edibles let her entice
Fresh with filled flavor
Grown lovingly at home
Heartily stirred to cooking
I read the recipe and see
Jelled images of repast
Kindly koshered believers
Larders of lowfat love
Milking a midnight marinade
Nourishing nocturnally
Organic ardoured nutrition
Potluck or purposefully
Quinoa ingrained meal
Recipes of relish
Soul food sweet and sticky
Unseasoned and unwritten
Victuals for vegans
Whole meal and rice
Xanthan gum aside
Yolks and yogurts
Zealously zigzag alphasoup

Nocturnally Yours

For you my love the time is near
to grasp eternity.
I shall suckle on your mortal coil
and draw the last of your humanity.
We shall pierce the night sky evermore
and clinch in this bed of stars.
Whom can prove and whom can deny
that darkness cannot bring forth love.

God has turned his eyes for now
his lambs are ours for the slaughter.
