"murder me"

she whispered ...
lips pressed to my nape -
soft-nipping skin
for her betrayal of husband and
family meant as much …
we both knew the sacrifices
and we accepted the cost that instant
then, and for the scandalous
time to come …

she was lost in me -
straddling, pressing … and I, lost in her
so rooted that I was becoming
her in flesh - in all senses …
nothing mattered anymore but
passion and its pyre
torching all in its torrid wake -
all that had mattered
'til then …

it was a horrid
thing for her to speak aloud -
to place in such dire phrasing
yet it was ALL I wanted -
all that I needed and cared
to hear … "murder me”
she whispered again, pressing down
"for I am nothing now ...

“but yours."

~ POETRY AGAINST POVERTY ~

The end's hardly nigh

Twixt life and hereafter
Break out in laughter
The better side of sixty
Louder, if you're thrifty

Ponder the tired frame
On inflammation, blame
Cells and tissues run amok
Immune cells, called, flock

Surgeons beckon
A windfall they reckon
Invading, nipping. gently
They probe, intelligently

Negative biopsy report!
You can still hold court
The end's hardly nigh
In consolation, sigh

Premium Member Golfin’ with Uncle Scum

He bumbled round the front nine
Scrambling by the high bramble
Scum fumbled the perfect lie
After nipping his car trunk’s handle

With thwaps and pings and whammy’s
His blood turned transfusion hue
He blames his hooks on “bangin trannys”
The joke fell flat to the cart gal, regardless of cue

Crickets echo in daytime thicket
Uncle Scum sweat through his woolen plaid
He sniffed and swung, missing the ticket
Another failure at the emerald launchpd

His friends left after he swang too haphazard
But no, good Uncle Scum always has the last reply
“If Daly can do it then so can I!
Now excuse me while I swim in the water hazard!”

He swam and he floated all drunkenly bloated
But didnt note the flock of geese
all ruffled and slighted
Now Uncle Scum was banned, as he says “scapegoated”

All because the groundskeeper kept the geese around
“The ones on hole eight that are more
fight than flight”

nipping at your ghost

Nipper”

A small dog waits
beside the brass horn,
ears lifted,
body held in that soft readiness
only devotion can teach.

Once a wanderer,
he learned the shape of shelter
in the warmth of a single voice.

Now the room is quiet,
yet he leans
toward the horn’s bright mouth
as though a familiar breath
might rise again
from its painted metal.

Brush in hand,
he works the canvas again,
colours deepening
around the small dog’s frame.

The horn waits, bright at the rim,
and the dog leans toward it,
steady as breath before a word.

Nothing moves in the room
except the faint shift of his ears,
as though some quiet spark
might rise from the metal
and meet him halfway.

Premium Member Christmas

Nipping snowflakes light
Crisp whispered winter's cold bite.
Christmas still darkness
used absolute dazzling charm
on a crystalline white rug.

Above the snow clouds,
silence watched Jolly Santa
and his reindeer fly
with "Ho-Ho-Ho," and the thrilled
sound of light jingling sleigh bells.

The little children
And family round decked tree
on early morning,
with the halls decked with holly,
presents in the brightest wrap.

The Autumn Comes

It is gone — the beast of fire
has broken its spine
on iron storms.

Some argue the date,
the precise day,
when the burning circus
finally rolled off
the pitch and patch
of bald yards.

Now, trees are painting
imaginary flames
that warm our hearts
like a candlelit sky.

This side of the river
ferries carry shadows
from morning to evening.

On far banks
there are rumors of ice birds
hunting still blazing fish,
over raw nipping waves.

My cat can’t be happy

Ok God hear it is
I spent eons perfecting an animal that cares about nothing I call it a……Cat
Gabriel beams as he places it gently in Gods lap

Could you please remove it
It is making a weird noise
and is constantly nipping me with its claws

Sorry your Lordness
Gabriel lifted the cat from his maker

Before we begin the test
I hope this is better than your last attempts
What was it again….God stroked his head
Yes the Dodo
The duck filled platypus
Oh and let’s not forget the humans

So …., shifting back on her throne…..test 1
Obey your maker
Come here……his finger pointing just beside her feet
The cat drew its eyes and darted off in chase of some flickering light

Okay good start…but let’s not celebrate too soon
Gabriel

Her me Cat sit
she sat transfixed by the cat
as it curled itself into a donut and fell asleep he glanced at Gabriel………very impressive

The cat leapt from its prone position
It jerks in juxtaposition with its grunts
Finally ending its exorcism in a matted tuft of regurgitated fur

Premium Member Especially Sweet and Cold

Dark, black, midnight in my cup.
Cream is light, especially sweet.

Hot, warm, rekindle Winter’s mug.
Bitter chill, biting, nipping at heels.

“Baby it’s cold outside” teeny trees.
Tenderness handled in warm grip.

The pour fell into the cold-temp cup.
Warmth filled every space, then

my lips, my tongue, inside cheeks;
fills cherry mountains below eyes.

A caffeinated prescript aft’ “ahh,”
and Boston brown “molasses” bread.

America’s on a limousine roll
with presidential flags waving.

Transfer of power, balancing -
perhaps we can all be friends, again.

Premium Member Thought of the day

all is well, all is well
we are in ineffable peace
in tranquil, time stretched stillness
then an ego ripple surreptitiously arises
scarring the very fabric of our soul
watch all thoughts oh hermit
nipping them in the bud

Premium Member A Kiss In The Dark

POTD
How I wish I could have clutched
 vignettes of remembrance
on this bench in a park;
the same wooden one
which cradled our afternoons,
feeding little birds
as slices of pang gripped my marrow--

The sharp sting of her farewell,
right on this spot
drowned time's kohl of fate---
that now, I hold the seat's arms limply,
 if only to recall
how we kissed in the dark
exploring east, west of mouths--
my fingers messing her hair
nipping quick hours of rendezvous.

I forget not the windswept look
of her distant eyes... hours I have
 delayed with my misgivings,
my absence wretchedly crossed ---
and upon my woman's leaving
I on this park every sordid night

kiss her only in my thoughts ---forgive.

Premium Member Petty

A festive feast of aired grievances
faces maroon  and out of control;
Screams breed battered appearances,
this moment our tempers just stole;

Releasing all that tension with a kiss
now we are locked in a wild explosion;
A fine line between livid and bliss
in the end teeth, nails, and devotion;

Go on baby and let it all out
now let your fire burn all over me;
We’ll dig into each other and shout
nipping away all that is petty.

Echoes

Echoes of silence
	blown upon the wind
whispers that unheard
	steals the words away

flying dust touch
	slide across the skin
etching paths of coldness
	yet nothing does remain

heartbeats surge with fullness
	then empty fades away
whispers of the memories
	yet nothing does remain

pale moonlight could
	slip through the darkness
yet dimmer stars
	might softly glow

dampness lies lightly
	nipping chill bites
warmth not known
	was it ever there

pathway lost led
	did footsteps follow
was there once beginnings
	or only lost ends

stirs now the shadows
	where darker lies
fears there linger
	knowing not why
