DARK EYES, FAIR GOLDEN HAIR,
I saw her shyly standing there.
Ignored by all around,
Bewildered by the disco’s sound.
LIKE ME, NOT OUR PLEASURE.
Quieter ways to spend our leisure.
Nervously caught her eye
And then got talking by and by.
CHAT DELIGHT, EACH FELT GOOD,
Exactly as I’d known we would.
Talked non-stop until late
And pencilled in another date.
JUST KNEW; LONG MARRIED NOW,
Always meant to be somehow.
Gold hair I saw that night,
Just as beautiful now it’s white.

Our first date will be a night
That will forever be in my mind
A date arranged by our friends
With hopes love we would find
Not knowing what to expect
Or how the other one would be
Nervously we started our date
The joy it brought shocked me
This blind date we had gone on
Quickly turned into much more
I was always thinking about you
You were the one I had fallen for
Slowly our lives blended together
Until they had been turned into one
With the proposal now in the past
The wedding needed to be done
Now standing up here at the altar
Nervous again as I wait for you
To come stand up here with me
So we can both say that we do
Now we begin this new journey
Down a path we’ve never seen
We hope it will lead us to forever
If we make the journey in between

The Left and Right today
Are like East and West,
Different worlds that never shall meet,
Or if they do meet
Won’t hear or understand much
Of the other anyway.
Each is in a bubble,
Comfortable and secure.
The difference is,
And it’s a difference that makes all the difference,
One bubble is based in LaLa Land
While the other is at least grounded in truth,
As dirty and ugly as that sometimes can be,
Yet a truth that can at least call a spade a spade,
And not have to nervously glance over its shoulder
To see if someone thinks that’s somehow racist.
Shovels matter after all
In fact where would our civilization be
Without them?
And yet in our world today
Only half of us are needed,
And it’s always, never
The other half.

long nights
eyes wide
sky lights
heart racing
i am within my rights
to reach for your hand
without regrets or fearful plights
lips thrum nervously
i know your soul; flying high as a kite
never tameable
unless i tether you here holding with all my might
for i know it is you who easily falls away
and i would not let you go for truth bites
and lies are so easy to tell
i love you and isnt that my own fight?
please comment!!! i love to read them and have you guys give me feedback!!!

So nervously, upon this earth I tread.
Don't let me, again, go out of my head.
My fragile mind persisted yet unbroken,
ignoring all harsh words as they were spoken,
until shattered with a sickening shriek.
Done in, I was, as I heard a mushroom speak.

Nervously checking my hair,
Noting the silver is peppered with grey.
My hand trembles as I put on my lipstick—
My favourite shade of pink.
My reflection bears a frown,
But today, I turn it upside up.
The big interview with an angel
Will happen when the clock strikes
Midnight.
The mystery of the night
Is needed for the halo to shine as bright as a star.
I smooth my good dress,
Reserved for special occasions—
And an interview with an angel
Marks it so special.
As this angel
Is so very dear to me.
For you see, this angel,
Living among the stars,
Is my own little girl.
My first and only question,
That I will ask with tears in my eyes,
Will be:
When will I become an angel?
So I can spend the rest of eternity near you.

When a pastor asked a lady
if she was planning a trip
down under she hesitated:
Yes, I am, she said nervously.
It’s my first trip to Australia
if that’s what you mean
at least that’s what I hope.
Yes, that’s exactly what I meant
he reassured.
By-the-way, I’m a pastor.
I thought you looked familiar
she said eagerly.
And though I’m not
a congregant of your church, sir,
I have read a few of your sermons –
and I find them quite radical
given my little knowledge
of biblical Christianity.
“Really?” said the pastor
as the plane began its descent.
Perhaps we’ll meet again
somewhere in down under,
who knows he said.
Yes, who knows, she said.
But don't look too hard for me;
by saying down under
I didn’t mean Australia.

~Quince shaped houses landscape Julienned Street
where citric groans once molded a blue cheese night ~
In one home lives reclusive Graham and his wife, Coco,
two dilled, old pickles nervously living on the lamb.
Busted selling urine for addiction pee tests,
they agreed to flee from a legal barbeque.
Combining their bran, they landed on Julienned.
They peppered with fright when a repair man
fell down, done, dead and fried on their hall floor.
Even freaked, they managed to fully bake a plan.
They dragged his body with mixed moans and groans
to the cellar, filleted him and then designated
him the residents permanent cellar staple.

My eyes nervously cast a side glance
At the big clock on the wall above the table,
Marking the time in my mind,
Anxiously dreading sleepy time for all:
The darkness,
The quietness,
The aloneness.
Only with my thoughts swirling like a giant mess of wires,
Retracing each step,
Erasing and reworking,
Arranging and rearranging,
Talking to myself,
Crying,
Writing,
Reading.
Tick tock, the hourglass of life—
A startling reality,
The sand disappearing faster.
My hands, once young, were spent:
Rocking,
Embracing,
Caressing,
Toiling.
Each day, a new crease is born.
Tick tock, knocking on the door is the dawn,
Welcoming the gentle hand rocking me to sleep,
My body spent, finally relaxes and drifts to Wonderland.

Dusk,
depicted two silhouettes
Silence under the glow of a street lamp
Blushing and smiling a little nervously
A seemingly random touch,
breathless excitement
Passionate lips,
soft and slow
Fireworks display from the rainbow
The miracle was there for them alone
This kiss left both
quite weightless on pink clouds

It's the time since feeling sandy grit scratch between my toes
Transparently do I remember, although the years have flown
Chilling memories sitting here, Ice cold and nervously alone
Once a place was my escape, to flee a troubled home
I never liked the water, even now that I am grown
Only would I climb the rocks and carve my name in stone
The sharp edges of a tortoiseshell, engraving with its bone
Despite a life so undeserving, forgiveness I have shown
But I shall never forget their malice, nor their actions will I condone

I can come across as confident,
Always known for being too loud,
Sometimes struggle to cope with noise,
Become overwhelmed in a crowd.
Anxiously bite the skin from my lip,
Frantically fidget and tap my toes,
Can even have a sneezing fit,
From a nervous twitch in my nose.
At times can suddenly burst into song,
Even randomly scream and shout,
Nervously talk at some speed,
Or silently struggle to get a word out.
Tried my best to hide it all,
Hoping that people could not see,
All it did was make things worse,
So I gave up and let it be.
Then I started to write my poetry,
Owning the quirks that signify me,
No idea how healing it would be,
Bearing my heart for all to see.

When the heartbeats, are turning into apart streets.
,,Since every sideway you looked", people might thought, no, I watched my feet.
My feet.
I watched.
No i looked at them.
Yes, I wasn't searching in scare anymore.
Since, the streets are filled with owow trees.
And a lot of bees.
They hurt.
But why do they hurt when they later die?
Ah, to enjoy the taste, shall I too?

AN ACTING LIFE
A young, shy boy enters stage left.
The date, November ‘fifty-three.
And, though you’d not believe it now,
That shy young man was me.
I hadn’t wanted to be there,
I was convinced that I’d fall flat.
I spoke my first line nervously.
The audience laughed – and that was that!
I was hooked in that moment of magic
And knew I had to have more.
I’ve played a hundred roles since then,
Shakespeare, Wilde and Shaw.
I’m afraid you won’t have heard of me;
Few people know my name.
My acting is only a hobby,
But it’s theatre all the same.
Of course I can’t go on for ever,
I’m reaching the end of the page.
And besides, there’s a limited number of parts
For men of a certain age.

Its the sight waft of rotting flesh
That first hits you
While the smartly dressed
Smiling warden ushers you in,
Through narrow turnstiles
There are rows of enclosures
A maze of them, a maze of the wild
Its like a snapshot of danger
A dangerous predator-laden savanna
Danger enclosed
Lions...
You will hear their shouting matches
Royal majestic roars
Like cage competitions
Even the females join in
While one stares you down
Sizing you up
Like a piece of flesh
(Well come to think of it...)
Some males lie down
Nonchalant
Amidst the noise
The leopard paces in its enclosure
Waiting for its daily ration
While the young buffalo
Grazes nervously,
Its enclosure next to the lions
They have emergency exits
Just in case...
You will spot a Serval cat
A croc, bored
And nervous rare Sokoke cats
Terribly out of place...
