I got me the low down blues baby,
The way down low blues
Singing in the rain ain't a thing I can do now,
Don't you know I've got it bad
So badly do I miss the wisp of lovely,
So much so, I've missed the candy corn
On the way back from the grocery store,
No happy All Hallows Eve,
No rocking in the chair on the porch
Cuz the way I feel is the lowest low
The highest mountain is invisible to me.
I got me the low down blues baby,
Don't you forget the way it feels
Cuz it feels like the storm struck
And left its mark on you,
On your soul and heart
Ne'er to depart from the low downs;
You can't get up from those
Them days is cold as ice in your veins
Or tea stains on your whitest shirt
That no man can erase,
So you must suffer the case!

holding back my tears ...
perhaps it’s for the last time
I give mum a hug
I walk from her room
who know’s when we’ll meet again -
corona virus
At midnight tonight mum’s care home goes into lock down. We do not have the corona virus on our Island but the elderly and vulnerable people have to be protected so it was inevitable they would take these precautions. It’s hard on us both as I try and see mum every day and I’m trying to arrange for skype to be available so I can continue to do memory games with her ... and just so mum knows I am still around.
WE NOW HAVE OUR FIRST CASE OF THE VIRUS CONFIRMED

Low Down Blues
Night was wickedly long and so sad
woman gone with everything I had
No recollection of this in the plan
this gal done left her loving man
crickets chirping to beat the band
This gal done left here for all time
took my heart and every thin dime
No sorrow floats in her wicked heart
no crying now, praying I don't start
lord knows this man sure did his part
She left a few plates with an old hat
took my fine dog, left her old cat
No worry how her man going to get by
no good-bye note, told no reason why
now this heart has started to cry
Night surely can not get any worse
so sure my life wrapped in a curse
No future hope in this tired old life
had sweet plans to make her my wife
see only darkness, misery and strife

An old write that I wrote while drunk on whiskey
the night my love Stacy took off for greener pastures!
She phoned me 4 days later from Houstin Texas.
Told me her uncle had died and she was about to inherit
a damn lot of money! Then said, I just didn't want to share
any of it with you.
Life is like that sometimes...

Do you love me
Do you think I am smart
Do you appreciate me
Do you look at me, what do you see
When you hit me does it hurt you
When you call me stupid does it emasculate you
When I comfort you Am I beneath you
When you look at me what do you see
It hurts when you hit me
It enrages me when you call me stupid
It empowers me to know I comfort you
Look at me now what do you see
I don't love you
I am above you intellectually
I am calculating, cunning
Look at me, my back is the last you'll see.
The Love of your life
The small contributions you made
The small man that you are
The minutiae of nothing
I walk tall, with a soulful stride
You walk fast trying to catch me
I am the winner
You're a survivor
I am no longer broken
I am no longer weak
I am a woman
Then I drop a coin in your cup

Those low down dirty blues again
remind me ‘bout bad times I knew,
when tears poured down like driving rain.
Those low down dirty blues again
that make me sing a sad refrain
‘cause deep inside’s so dark and blue.
Those low down dirty blues again
remind me ‘bout bad times I knew.
Don’t let them take what’s left of me;
it’s all I got, just help me live.
So strum it down now, set me free;
don’t let them take what’s left of me.
Just play it hard, don’t want to see
that pain is all life has to give.
Don’t let them take what’s left of me,
it’s all I got, just help me live.

Circumstances and situations in life
can leave us with a stench,
wreaking of pungent smells!
Dirty, low down tactics of others
devised to taint us in a bad light,
ruining reputations making us want
to flee or take flight,
Most of the times we are clueless
to the underhandedness of our
nemesis' until their devious acts
greets us by surprise,
The smiling faces suddenly get revealed
to be dirty, low down eels.
