The night Sky glimmer high above,
     Radiating hope for the young lover,
           Distance seems no problem 
While the horizon is beyond their vision.

If Loving You Was A Sin

If loving you was a sin,
Then I’ve sinned in silence every day since you left.
And I’d do it again.
Every lifetime. Every breath.

They told me,
“She’s not yours.
This isn’t right.
You’ll ruin everything.”

But they don’t know what it felt like
to hold a world in my hands
and have to let it go
to keep it from burning.
They don’t know what

My Own Heart Is My Enemy

Each time I’ve loved, the wound ran deep,
A crimson truth I could not keep.
So now my heart, in self-defence,
Builds iron walls, immense, intense.
When someone stirs that fragile flame,
I whisper harshly, call my name,
And drag myself from passion’s shore,
To guard the ache I’ve felt before.
I scold the spark, I dim the light,
I shun the warmth, embrace

Letting Go Of Past Mistakes

Pictures there upon the wall, each person once held me dear.
At times we were living together, now not one lives near.
Each has a life they must live and thoughts on which to ponder.
My life goes on, I grow old and still I can’t but wonder,
How different things could have been, if love we didn’t squander.

and the doctor declares
all your battling and history
has been for nothing.
I still remember
your first hospital stay,
I bought you chewies
that were your favs,
You said "thank-you for this"
With a cheery smile,
though it was the storm
of what was to come.
I asked God to forgive you,
so many fricking times!!!

How We Can Learn To Love

When you see others hurting and your heart doesn’t cry,
Look inside and ask yourself the answer to your why?
The path we’re given here on Earth is so we can learn.
To begin the learning process, we must feel concern.

For each to evolve while on this Earth, each must transform.
Right choices made along the way seldom cause

they all speak my biggest truth of
the night we both held each other close

Tongues of solar flare  writhe  in combat kiss
     —flame-throwers unleashed

The darkest hour comes with pain that's insane,

The sobbing and gasping are so abrupt.
