the woman that almost was

she had the dress
the ring 
the future

she had dreamt what their life would look like
a house filled with laughter
and beautiful memories 

and suddenly the future she spent years imagining 
because something she had to grieve 

she never walked down the aisle 
she never heard him say I do 

she became a woman
who grieved not for him 
but the woman 
she was supposed to become
