The LORD is my Shepherd
I have ALL of my needs, wants
And desires met
To help others who come across my path.
As I lie down in my bed at night
I know that He keeps us safe.
He created us, not ourselves
I will enter His courts
With praise and thanksgiving
To honor His holy name.
He leads me in paths of His righteousness
For His name’s sake,
I will trust Him will ALL of my heart.
Even though I walk through the valley
Of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil
For I know He is with me.
I will say, LORD, You are my Shepherd
My refuge and my fortress
I trust You with ALL of my heart.
You have prepared a table before me
In the present of my enemies
And anointed my head with oil,
Covering my whole being,
Surely Your mercy and grace
Shall follow me
ALL the days of my life,
And I will dwell in Your house
ALL the days of my live
Because You are my Shepherd
And in Jesus name I pray.
There are moments when I feel so alone,
Lost in confusion – riding out the storm.
Then, there are times when I feel so sure,
Comforted by the presence of Jesus’ love.
There are days when I can’t find real peace,
Times when I’m filled with discouragement.
But there are those days when I am so serene,
Aware of the hope that is poured from above.
There are moments when I’m not self-assured,
Times when I don’t know if I’m truly that good.
Then, come the times when I feel so confidant,
Those special days of feeling comforted and secure.
There are days when I don’t have any honest answers,
The times when I’m undecided, lacking sure thanksgiving.
Then, there come the moments of faith and conviction,
Being so certain that I know what to let go and what to give.
There are moments of anxiety and worry that plagues me,
Those times when I’m not sure I can allow real give and take.
Then, comes the sweetness of believing with my heart and soul,
Discovering the answers that can only be found in Jesus’ warmth.
There are days when I can’t feel the intimacy I know is alive,
Burning with passion that comes from giving from my heart.
Then, there are the times when I’m so fulfilled by the assurance,
Knowing that the grace of God is with me, keeping me from harm.
There are moments when I don’t know up from down, in from out,
Those wearisome times of despondency when I haven’t a hope at all.
Then, there are the times when I know that I have it all and more …
A love that knows no end, love from God, Jesus and the Holy Ghost.
"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days
Of my life and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord for ever."
"i shall enter his courts with thanksgiving in my heart. I shall
Enter his gates with praise. I shall say this is the day which
The Lord has made. I will rejoice for he has made me glad."
"Oh give thanks to the Lord; for he is good and his mercy
Endures for ever." "Let Israel hope in the Lord; for with
The Lord there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption."
He will hear the cries of the righteous whenever they shall plead
For mercy. He will shower them with abundant blessings.
The cups of the righteous shall over flow because of his never
Ending goodness and abundant mercy. I shall sing of the
Mercies of the Lord forever. With my mouth I shall make
Known his faithfulness and his righteousness.
Throughout all generations. Over all the nations of the world.
His banner over me is love. His banner over me is love.
Bless the Lord O my soul and let praises spring forth from
My mouth liken unto springs of living water. As the deer
Pants for the water, my soul does long for you. Your
Goodness and mercy are renowned among all of Israel.
And the courts of the righteous will burst open wide.
Love in Christ Jesus!

On Halloween.
There are ghosts to be seen.
And a skeleton.
Candy disappearing by the ton.
Porch lights are on.
Costumes we don.
During this holiday.
I don’t mind having to pay.
For candy that spreads delight.
Or a costume that doesn’t fit right.
At the end of the night, I sit in my room.
My sister walks in, wearing a witch costume.
There’s time for the party tonight…
But I’d rather sit by the moonlight.
I don’t want to turn into a werewolf.
I don’t want to be a haunted doll, all by myself.
This Halloween night.
I give my sister the last candy bite.
Thanksgiving is the next holiday.
But why can’t Halloween be a thankful day?
With so much candy to eat.
And sisterly love that can’t be beat.
I have been finishing up Sacred Economics during this time of fall harvest and thanksgiving. I have enjoyed this read especially as I add in vocabulary and analogy from my background in Permaculture Design and Community Development.
Eisenstein's economics of a more beautiful world
follows the ecologic of health,
like a richly embryonic egg-yolk
pulls its developmental compost
from environmentally vulnerable,
ubiquitously transparent,
gooey natural norms.
So, this gives me cause for regenerative thanksgiving,
in this Earth-optimizing time
of Co-Falling and Co-Arising Harvest.
One illustration, my additions in brackets:
"The money [health] system we have today
is the manifestation of the scarcity mentality
that has dominated our civilization
[and threatened our wilderness Commons]
for centuries.
When that mentality changes,
the money [health] system will change
to embody a new [eco]consciousness.
In our current [competitively unhealthy] money system,
it is mathematically
[and logically]
impossible for more than a minority of people
[and species]
to live in abundance,
because the money [health and beauty] creation process
maintains
[yet also struggles with]
systemic [economic and political power] scarcity.
One man's prosperity
is another man's poverty."

I looked through the eyes of a dying wolf
to see fires flaming out our horizon
as long as this wild wolf had seen.
He saw a time
when seizures
were currencies of sorcerors,
shamen and shawomen
born of supremely loving matriarchs.
Seizure medicine knew its own advent
echoing sources speaking dreams of manna geese
flying home for our first through last

Thanksgiving Peace Dreams
after fires and erupting volcanoes
of seizures,
and also before peace dreams of hope-fired relationships,
responsible as authoritative Win/Win faith,

over monoculturing fears
of fires for volcanoed hate
of gun-fires flaming out horizons.
I looked through the eyes of a not yet dead wolf
to see fires of restorative justice
for Thanksgiving Days and Nights of Peace
sweeping all Win/Win full-fired horizons
of Wonder as Sacred Flaming Awe.
I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth.
I'm thankful for that.
I know the value of a dollar.
Everything I have I've had to earn myself.
I'm thankful for that.
I have a reason to hold my head up and be proud of my accomplishments.
I was born, raised and live in a free society.
I'm thankful for that.
I take for granted freedoms others only dream of.
I was raised to be charitable and to help others.
I'm thankful for that.
Otherwise I might look down on those less fortunate than myself.
I was taught not to be cruel and uncaring.
I'm thankful for that.
I could have become a very unkind person.
I am not wealthy. I work hard for everything I have.
I'm thankful that I can.
I'm thankful for good health, my job, my home, my car and all that I call mine.
I was raised to know there is a Creator and that He loves me and wants me to know Him. He already knows me.
And I'm Thankful For That.
Grateful am I as triumph reigns over distress
since my heart has overcome bouts of depression-duress
conquering frustration angsts that oppress
midst prevailing hope, serving as steadfast fortress!
With support system anchoring me with cheer
blissful serenity has defied attacking fear
driving my commitment with kindness-filled gear
toward bouncing up and moving on, indeed very clear!
Though skeptical to vanquish lurking gloom
my faith has chosen victory over mockery of doom
not willing to face early death along inviting tomb
believing that eternity offers peace ever since I was in my Mom's womb!
Now that I am in the ministry of reaching-out
my spirit thanks the Divine Source of life, without any doubt
as thanksgiving prevails for miracles against unbelief-clout
joyfully keeping on, encouraging others with "We can do it" shout!
Sweet children
Who reach out to a delicate dandelion
Blowing it’s seed into the air
Whispering faith that this will bring
A answered wish or fulfilled prayer
Sweet children
Who smile at kittens and laugh
Listen to the chirp of birdsong like it is a caress
Giggle along with croaking frogs
And color the skies in lavender truth
Sweet children
Who listen to their hearts and sing
A brilliant tune with melody so kind and pretty
Lines that seem to bring peace in old age
And dreams to hope and faith
Sweet children
Who learn to believe in their visions
Of rainbows that linger on the imagination
Writing poetry on stardust and leaves
Of love expressed through belief
Sweet children
Who hug a puppy to their heart
Hoping they will never know the pangs of loss
Give thanks with a completely pure heart
And make life a better place to live
Sweet children
Who think spiders are their friends
Ache to know more about the giants and angels
Breathe harmony through laughing ideas
And make love seem like it’s as simple as blinking
Sweet children
Who know they own my very heartbeat
As it trembles and pounds with sincere appreciation
For the breathless love that pours out of these
Who love without conditions and give complete thanksgiving
Sweet children
How I long to tell you
Your heart is like a caress
Your spirit is like a kiss
And your soul sings of Jesus
