POWER OF THE IVORIES
~~~~~~~~~~~
I wrote this poem as a remembrance of my mother. Even when macular degeneration and diabetes took her eyesight, she continued playing her beloved piano. I often sat adjacent to her, watching her arthritic fingers dance pirouettes across the 88 ‘blacks and whites,’ lost in creativity and the music. Her pain temporarily
      Dancing o’er the keys
        with the greatest of ease
      the poet’s fleet fingers
        their own gentle breeze
     Words appear from nowhere
Premium Membersimple piano keys,
I used to look to you,
and saw my baggy
of my darkness
but your humor
and I saw me in you,
never so strangers,
until a facade,
in my deepest
of fears
not of a mirror,
but swollen
eyes
left behind my dangers
and troubling,
fading
and I never wished it.
but those blue eyes
won't so call denial
escapee of the fleet,
of a falling harrowing,
spades so deadly
and
we tread
around
broken
glass....
simple
piano keys,
heart
may
be faster
as you
grow
Premium MemberThe Keys to the Future
The doors to yesterday are shut tight and locked.
     Only windows allow quick glimpses... you, face red and angry, eyes shut tight, refusing to accept reality away from your warm, slushy world of heart beats and distant voices.
    Alas, we are all thrust out into bright lights,
Sax And 'bone
Going solo is no fun
when you are the only one
playing alone on your own
so show me your saxophone
and you may hold my trombone
then if I feel the need
I'll finger your keys
to vibrate the reed
'til my slide retracts
as we're a match made in heaven
quite the catch in fact
a musical marriage
and that's not all
we'll make beautiful music
yes
Lost keys
I just had them, they were on my person,
Have you seen them?
They have a keyring of gizmo,
He was my favourite growing up.
The keys opened up so much,
Where could they be?
In a safe I have all precious things,
Gem stones, gold and documents,
Proof of corporeal voyage,
My passport is in there,
I feel stuck here until I find
88 Keys
88 Keys
 Bass,middle, treble range.
 Piano, favorite instrument.
 Unique sound.
 Array of strings abound.
 Dust settles.
 Million songs created.
 88 keys.
 Each sound is beautifully made.
 Peddle travels volume.
 A music maker.
 230 strings.
 Moon light, playing
 Settle and soothing.
 Heart resting.
 Tears falling.
 Songs moving.
 Dressed in black.
 Sounds from a piano are magical.
Combatting dollars
Clashes of riches
For everyone wishes to be pronounced “thor”
Their hammer being the only way for them to score,
For they all need keys to unbind forbidden doors.
The answer meanwhile has been stitched to a lame roar,
He who hears it, can decipher all the nameless lores.
“Concrete Hearts, the Deep End Keys and the Miniaturist's Poetry of Sleep”
Following the Babel paths,
where footprints progress
like rough-hewn braille,
temptation shows itself well deep
to be turned and touched,
substantially labyrinth
The Open
is lead
further in, and
The Uninviting
untouched,
concrete hearts too cool to be immersed
in their devices, unlike the crucifix strung bee-stung hornets
casting their
My keys are missing
and I find myself dissing
my ability to function
daily without mention
of my constant misplacement
of things I need-so I vent
in the form of a rhyme
that soothes me every time
 Soul my soul in me
Black and white keys
Dominate, the Rapsody
Celestial Holy energy
I receive huggINGly
Abreast and believingly
Above all things,
Glorious harmonies, we sing
~
Ivory cares;
Level yes;
Heartbeats in chest;
Soul my soul breathe;
Rainbow colors black and white,
Embraced colors ivory black N white;
Lovers of melodies prominent
 ~
Lo! music love vocals of heart;
Rhapsody imparted elephants march;
She played the chords of
Premium MemberLooking for Keys At Gotta-Go Time
gosh, look at the time!
he's gotta go
immediately!
wherever he's headed
punctuality is a must,
he can't just go yet...
his mind
in utter disarray,
repeatedly screaming...
"where's my damn keys?!"
as he goes on a tear
for his misplaced keys,
he implores time to slow
to a c r a w l
but she gives him the kiss off.
she's laced up her running
Chopin Keys
Chopin Keys
Tender finger touch
As deep feeling presses them
His pain springs to mind.
Keys And Locks
Different keys
One suit only
For one true lock.
Too many keys
Too many locks
One master key.
A ruin lock
Can be repaired
By locksmith.
Reading past writings
With lack of recognition..
What prompted the rising
Of those words..?
Many seem strange indeed
Words rising and gone
Life and death in the
Strokes of the keys...
