Premium MemberINTOXICATING INSPIRATION

All I need is inspiration,
To write poetry every morning
As the sun is dawning.

All is I need is dedication,
To write poetry every evening,
And even when I’m sleeping.

All I need is my heart beating,
To write poetry with a passion,
In any style or fashion,

I write a poem on just a whim,
And go out on a limb,
I the beholder see beauty in everything.

I can write alliteration,
And careful of misinformation,
I write love poems with flirtation,
With careful deliberation,
Striving towards fair direction,
Love our poetic generation.

My muse eager to co-operate,
As we generate and contemplate,
And meaningfully corroborate.

Should I not be happy with my poem,
With its title, content, or a name,
I move to a process of elimination,
Poetry my passion and intoxication.

Intoxicating Expression

Like smooth salty notes of Gouda
and an oaky buttery Chardonnay
Your grammatical mastery of words
compliments as they convey

Relayed with a silky smoothness
deep within you voice
Our energy’s merged and mingled,
lost I had no choice

Your words a rare combination
yet together hold such force
Impacting my sweet smooth softness,
 with intensity of course

Intoxicating the listener,
providing a stimulating effect
While captivating their emotions,
 intriguing yet so direct

Taking them under the influence,
 enjoying the tequila sunrise
Flowing with a Grey Goose vibe,
 as our distilled words fly

Like aged smokey caramel whiskey,
 our words taste refined
Together we just get better
throughout endless time

Beauty bows and surrenders at her bare feet,
The gold glitters jealous of her glowing skin,
Her bright eyes light embers of passion within,
                             Men yield to her will!

Warriors clang their weapons to fight to die,
Flags with horseman fly, write history again,
While sat in emerald throne, she rules their minds,
                                With potion of love!

Is there a poison more deadly than such love?
A woman to whom the Roman empire bows,
Juice of poison berry* she put in own eyes,
He who loves her - dies!

Mighty Caesar or Anthony were like clay,
Their tirades, history fade in her presence,
They lost in war, lost in her love, end by knife,
                           She put Asp to breast!

Cleopetra used poisonous berries or the deadly nightshade juice( medicinal name Atropa belladonna) that yields Atropine which causes dilatation of the pupils. Was used in her time to make the eyes dreamy, innocent and beautiful! Hence the name “Bella = lady, Donna= beautiful)

Lost in garnet glow, within crimson shadows,
eyes in you see continence, bold, unerring;
where, in truth, ingenuous virtue harbors.
I see you sleeping.

Yet, unbidden innocent thoughts turn rancid,
craving hunger, withering dreams of honor.
Cold in lust are fantasies born from sorrow,
driveling sorrow.

Ice envelops spurious hearts when love wilts.
Passion's roses, petalless, lie infertile,
endless waiting, hopelessly, always waiting
love to now answer.

Dream in gentle slumber of sweetened ardor;
for, in you is virtuous faithful rapture.
Sentimental visions of love remains, as
virginal hearts throb.

A Beautiful Mystery

Crystal, pale, azure blue eyes
clear as the infinite skies.

Jumping in for a swim
in reflections of stars.

When dimples delight,
a grin from ear to ear.

Hair of burnt umber.
Skin of porcelain.

Lost for words,
drinking you in.

Touching,
Tasting,
Delighting,
Exciting.

Yearning for more.
Intoxicated, am I.

Wanting you here
when I sleep at night.
If only in dreams…
can this truly be real?

A part of you,
eternal in me.

Flames welling up;
spring to the surface.

A soul-longing burn
now is ignited.

A beautiful mystery
--no holding it in--
shining so brightly
for all to see.

Premium MemberIntoxicating Autumn Air

Sitting by the beach
At the patio
Summer days behind us
Chatting with my sweetheart
Manoeuvring our glass of wine
Savoring the cooler vista
Reminiscing past adventures
Mapping out new excursions
Just appreciating each other
And loving the way we feel
Free and in love
Relaxed like the old married couple
That we are
Comfortable in our silences
Content by a touch or a smile
Finishing each other’s sentences

Enjoying each minute
And the sense of humor
I fell in love with years ago
Toasting to our health
And the many years to come

Intoxicated with joy
The wine and the autumn sun
Enjoying the life we’ve created
And the people we’ve become
In love and still our own selves

Intoxicating

I am intoxicating... my beautiful voice soars. Singing with pulsating tones my song is quenched in sweetness, Each breath I invite ravishes souls elegantly dance. Romancing love to ignite.
MLA 12/15

Intoxicating

Lovers whisper-laughing,
stumbling home in the rain.
O, to be so drunk again.

Intoxicating Wordless Sound

Seeking the solace in its voice
As it sings and serenades.
Intoxicating wordless sound
Carried along on air currents,
Transforms wind to song.

Mellow notes with breathless voice
Plays like a lovers embrace.
Deep earthy sounds perceived by ear.
Romancing my heart through song,
An alluring sound from the flute.

Intoxicating

it's suffocating always waiting for the bad

and pretty damn humiliating when you've ruined every chance you've ever had.

Manipulating every choice i make day to day

complicating any relationship that comes my way.

emulating what i want in a man

keeping me wrapped up in you for as long as you can.

its weight off my back not having to make up for your slack

and freeing to know that i have time to grow.

living life for myself is a kind of exposure

that i haven't held onto because i couldn't find closure.

scared to go back because i always find hurt

but my heart has kind of been lost under the dirt.

dehydrated always searching for water

trying to make a life for me and my daughter

tugged apart by what's right and what my heart wants

never succeeding to realize when you put up your front.

taking in cold air waiting for life to come to me

knowing deep down whatever is meant to be, will be.

So Strong, It's Intoxicating

Ever felt a feeling or heard a certain word to dread, Love, joy, happiness.
It all seems too real to be true.
You only hear about it in storybooks.
Pain, suffering, death.
Such things cause a hurt so strong it's intoxicating.
When you hear such things or it happens to you in such a way of experience, you
don't realize what you are putting your mind through.
All of that has happened to me once in a lifetime.
To know that it will happen again at any moment kills the soul of it's pondering
fairytale.
Eyes are a window to dreadful times.
I choose to cry behind closed doors.
My feelings always when shared hurts someone else.
Once you've reached such a time in life, to be happy, on the rare occasion is
lying.
For one day in your life, you shall experience something so strong.. it's
intoxicating.
