INTOXICATING INSPIRATION

All I need is inspiration,
To write poetry every morning
As the sun is dawning.

All is I need is dedication,
To write poetry every evening,
And even when I’m sleeping.

All I need is my heart beating,
To write poetry with a passion,
In any style or fashion,

I write a poem on just a whim,
And go out on a limb,
I the beholder see beauty in everything.

I can write alliteration,
And careful of misinformation,
I write love poems with flirtation,
With careful deliberation,
Striving towards fair direction,
Love our poetic generation.

My muse eager to co-operate,
As we generate and contemplate,
And meaningfully corroborate.

Should I not be happy with my poem,
With its title, content, or a name,
I move to a process of elimination,
Poetry my passion and intoxication.

Jennifer, this is so well thought out and produced! Different things do inspire us...I was just invited to a retirement celebration (I myself am retired as of this year). The person wrote odes to different employees and for different events over her career, so I wrote her a poem, which will hopefully get presented at her retirement party. All fun stuff!

Dear Jennifer, Your words beautifully capture the essence of creativity and passion. I loved that you've illustrated how inspiration fuels our souls through heartfelt dedication. Your words uplift with the joy of writing that poetry is an artistic celebration of life itself. Beautiful! Autumn Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Hello my dear friend, I felt your poem is both a tribute to the muse and an insight into your relationship with your work. It’s a joyful manifesto, expressing poetry as a natural, daily ritual that fulfills both the poet’s spirit and creativity. This genuine passion is likely to resonate with anyone who finds beauty in words, offering a glimpse into the joy of being a “beholder” who sees inspiration everywhere.

Write, write often. Please don't do it like me. I felt depressed, and for a few days, I stopped writing. I love your poetry. Hugs.

Hi dear Jen, this is so heart warming and inspiring. The inspiration, I assume to write poems, come to you in fits and starts. These days, I feel your are too driven by an urge to write and your output has considerably increased. After reading your poem I too am fueled with an inspiration to write more. On some days, it becomes a mad drive that I leave aside everything and wait for my muse to possess me. "My muse eager to co-operate, As we generate and contemplate, And meaningfully corroborate." Love these lines. Hugs and blessings, dear one.
