Today I was dreaming--Ronald, my husband popped not my head.
Then--I remembered our time on the Spirit of New York Dinner Cruises.
That was our First Anniversary Day.
Family and Friends gathered.
We toasted the event with Spirtzers; flowing over glass.
The day had sun light that shown bright. And the river flowed mild; not rough,
like shining glass; so smooth.
So, that we felt peaceful and light.
After, we were back on the deck; where we started.
Forget to pay the bills
Your wife calls you ‘genius’
Forget your wedding anniversary
~ She cuts off your p----
Your arms make me feel safe from that first glance.
Your soul, my safe haven.
You had me at hello.
Those true colors peeking through your walls: strength, love, and devotion.
You are my yin to my yang.
You ground me.
We’ve pushed through, standing our ground through sickness and trial, yet we still hold the line for our family we’ve created.
As years pass and looks fade, I will still see the soul I fell in love with from day one.
Happy Anniversary, my love.
When the silver moon tangoes out, with a lyrical hum,
And my heart beats like the gentlest drum.
Then, does my warm breathing hearspeed,
Oh, it is then, you, just you, I so lovingly need!
Come here, oh so close, bright, sweetheart of mine,
Crystal Anniversary glasses of chilled, Chardonnay wine.
It is then..that with moonlit tears do I awaken,
The sad realization, by God, was ‘twas years ago you were taken!
The summer heat was turned up to blasting with a huge yellow sun looking down. Our sweat had sweat. If only there was a breeze to pass over us. In the mouth of desire sits July. A young couple is about to be wed. The groom all decked out in his black suit. The bride in her long wedding dress and veil. Family and friends gather to watch this union take place. They hang on every word as the vows are being said. Then the happy couple are pronounced husband and wife. In the mouth of desire a big kiss gets planted. Pictures are take, then off to the dinner.
Now we are married

The Secret Side of You
Vs.1) One thing makes me so proud
To know that I know how
You si…ghh when you say My name.
A treasure I hold tight
To know when you sleep tonight
You'll la.. ugh, oh you'll never change.
Chorus*
To know…the one I love
Like no...body else does
You sho…w me the real you,
And I lo….o…ove,
The secret side of you…
All the sweet things only lovers get to do,
Yess, I lo…ove, the secret side of you.
Vs 2) That look comes to your eyes
As if you try to memorize
Every li…ine, of my face.
That shock of lightning fire
That look of desire
I can almost feel your embrace.
Repeat Chorus*
Tag: yes, I lo…ove, the secret side of you.
All the sweet things only lovers get to do…
How I lo…ove, the secret side…of you.
The Wedding Prayer
Your hand I hold,
your ring I place,
our future dreams to unfold.
I see you there,
all gowned in white,
our union we will share.
I pray my Lord,
this bond we hold,
will keep until we get old.
Past chapel fair,
past garden grounds,
our marriage we declare.
And if in sickness,
we cannot be as one,
being by each other’s side,
we preseve our love,
cherishing memories,
and to each other still abide.

First Place
I Do
I believe you.
I listen to you.
I trust everything you say.
You are my husband,
and therefore mine.
I am yours.
We are together,
until we are apart,
but never from the heart.
You make me laugh,
and sometimes cry,
but the joy out measures
any complaint I might have...
momentary and fleeting.
Your strength,
strengthens me.
Your calm,
leaves me in awe,
and sometimes even... wonder.
Nothing shakes you.
You are my man of stone.
You built your life upon the true rock,
and it shows with every fruit.
I am grateful...
thankful,
and blessed.
Troubled as to what I'll choose
something which will bemuse
the man who has it all
This is not an easy task
it's an even more strenuous ask
that the present he shall receive
will find a smile or joyous laugh
Happens every year, selecting
something that may cheer
Bringing sparkle to his eyes
a genuine smile from ear to ear
In retrospect, this dazzling effect
can be achieved I do believe
by drinking good old fashioned beer
Maybe a quiet meal for two,
for our love is old, old and true
Counting our blessings
that we are still here,
to celebrate this special time of year
Oh, I'm sure we'll have a ball
Together forever
The best present of them all
In dulcet tones
known just to me—
(nonverbal,
some would say),
though delicate
is not your speed,
I hear what you can’t say.
Consolation
is to breathe.
Allure means just to beg.
Mirage is only
what I see.
Who’d pivot
from your face?
Today’s an anniversary?
You’re with me
every day.
I’d favor flesh
instead of this
but death got in the way.

Eight Word Anniversary Poetry Contest
Your birthday, my dear, is more than another year
Marked and filed, a calendar passing, hours mild
Of clasped hands, secret kisses, tickling and
teasing and mocking my tiny sneezing
Your T-shirts and socks and combs I've been stealing
Through, also, the chasm of winter's distance
Through terminations and tight budgets and loose change
Through open arguments and closed doors
Through the torture of twisting back spasms
Through vacant sleep, when tunnel thoughts close in
Through the first anniversary of the loss of your brother
I am blessed for it all, the moods and the worry
Enrich and color the walls of my heart
The sterile white antiseptic years before you
Was someone else's life
So - this day is also the birth
Of your wife.

The days and nights pass
The loves of life crash
Though we regenerate again
The new improved is not the same
Generations are made in years
A thousand kisses, ten thousand tears?
Perhaps when it is real love words of meaning don’t mount to much?
Perhaps if we have found real love together
Perhaps together is just enough
Together, forever until we die
Twenty-five years of marriage
I’ll love you forever
We celebrate our silver anniversary next month

With my entire heart and the very breath of my soul
I send you my Love to touch and to hold
On the wings of a dove so perfectly pure
May all of your wishes be eternally assured
May the joy you bring, as we are held in God’s hands
Over flow back to you as it continues to expand
May your life be everything you wish it to be
As we move upon its open sea
Happy Birthday… My Love… To You… From Me.
May our glorious life continue to be full of such revelry
Written for my Hubby’s birthday and our Anniversary.
