Notes About The Poem

I Do

I Do

I believe you.
I listen to you.
I trust everything you say.
You are my husband,
and therefore mine.
I am yours.
We are together,
until we are apart,
but never from the heart.

You make me laugh,
and sometimes cry,
but the joy out measures
any complaint I might have...
momentary and fleeting.
Your strength,
strengthens me.
Your calm,
leaves me in awe,
and sometimes even... wonder.

Nothing shakes you.
You are my man of stone.
You built your life upon the true rock,
and it shows with every fruit.
I am grateful...
thankful,
and blessed.

Beautifully composed, Ann... My second wife and I went from 'I do' on August 20, 1995 to 'I due' shortly thereafter. Her 'due date' was May 20, 1996. (Count the months there; heh-heh). And she delivered the goods! Smiles, Gershon
