Hilariously alike indeed
My special child's wheelchair and my patience when they are freed
Toward great fun to meet triumphantly necessary need
Like driving against gloomy mood for exuberant deed...
When soaring for delightful pursuits no to miss
My son's wheelchair maneuvers with bliss
Such is my patience from heart's grateful abyss
Praising the Lord for the help of every Brod and Sis...
When the wheelchair can't function and to rest it must bow
My special child keeps asking questions midst why and how---
That's my patience* in waiting for fulfilment of a vow
I pray, "Lord, please give me faith's answer, and I want it now!"
*Psalms 37:7-9 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way.

A toaster is the wise old sage of the kitchen,
Fire's bread with "Plato" steadfast position.
Chrome reflects light from the cosmos' gaze,
Like "Nietzsche" on a morning haze.
The bagel slots are so deep and vital,
A metaphor for insight that is softly incisal.
It dings!—a discovery in real life,
"Kant" just sits about and talks on strife.
Toast pops! I gathered it! Fate's browned bit,
Socrates proved late in comparison to it.
So here's to logical thinking, cut and clear,
Truth provided hot, with a sputter so dear.

THE HEAVYWEIGHT AND THE FEATHERWEIGHT
Poem written for Ridiculous Comparisons Poetry Contest, Miranda Hawley, sponsor, July 23, 2025
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There’s the elephant, a lumbering titan,
a true heavy weight with a heart that beats like thunder,
each footfall a seismic event,
a gentle giant, who with the grace of a ballet dancer
could crush a car if ballet were performed in slow motion
and involved a lot of mud.
Then there’s the hummingbird—a blur of iridescence,
a caffeine- sugar- fueled acrobat, a featherweight warrior
who sips nectar like a drunken poet,
lost in a world of fleeting moments.
It’s a tiny, feathered daredevil,
with the attention span of a gnat.
My crayon box is filled with dreams’ color
Of joyfulness tints and happiness’ hues
Brightened by thanksgiving and praises ardor
Midst gold of gladness, devoid of sad blues.
Oh, there is green, full of life… healthy well
From God’s grace, so glowing, no one can hide
Along red with pink for compassion-swell
With shining yellow of worshipful tide.
Yes, courageous orange rules over pain
Defying horrors of blackness and fright
As brave purple soars with azure faith’s gain
Trusting the Lord* toward heavenly white.
Glad am I for crayon box dreams indeed
Colored by the Almighty’s gracious deed.
*Psalms 112:7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.
Colorful crayons, the dreams of my choice,
Chalk, white, and red allergens hurt my voice.
Young hearts overflow with pristine lifetime,
While learning about our gone past sublime.
Like a box that cradles bright, varied pens,
Transforming basic scenes with vivid stems.
Shades of jade, azure, lavender, and gold,
Turquoise whispers like oceans, calm and bold.
Purple colors absorbed me as a child,
Soft blue calmed all the troubles of my mind.
Yet I shun the red; the shadow it casts,
Recalls too well the echoes of the past.
Same as how crayons fit in their holder,
I give each dream its special space folder.
ARTIST
They shone daring green avocado
in dark adverse period swearing
guilt ridden heart vanquished free
sacral scrubbed pink and ready
plumed serpent in magnificent bloom
with candles God watched supreme
from blue misty mountain clean
knowing Artist was not insane
two green irises unusually plain
pierced her luminous spine divine
naked Eve eyed painting quiet
easels of unfinished tired purple
massaged her throat coloured gurgle
rooms without curtains collapsing sad
Artist pierced Love bubble mad
You were not entirely missed
Unwinding under shade of woods
reclining on a playground bench
sagged, sapped, and aged knees
glancing at a spewed limestone
Spotted lying on the ground
limestone was not a mountain
separating you from my character
It's just something on earth
It calls for your attention
We are waiting for sunrise
both at night and daylight
deep down in concept, drawn
security guards at the gate
sitting here, quietly, we wait.
Divine mirth grips my heart
exuding gratitude reaching heaven’s throne
when wrapped with ecstatic triumph
persuaded that God is merciful
attending to my needs constantly...
Thanksgiving keeps my soul joyful
subduing worries, despair and woes
since the Lord* assures hope
radiating grace of loving kindness
marked with serene compassionate glow...
Gratefully worshipping the blessed Almighty
my spirit abounds with praises
while reaching out to others
sharing peace along contentment bliss
driven by faith toward victory!
Psalm 39:7 - And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee.
Despite its vastness, wisdom may appease.
Your darkest fears that keep you up at night,
Such as wicker crypts where hues limit light,
More important is your mellow serene breeze.
Shun worrying through what those may say in jest,
Might suffer or speak in your short-lived fame.
Since prestige is only a false claim,
While true self-worth lies within your chest.
Reading books till one's eyes begin to dim,
Yet, the knowledge to grasp appears from eyes.
Each move you make is consistently wise,
When faced with life's ever-shifting whim.
Past anguished serves as an anchor reminder.
Of who we are, and visions we seek to find.
Toward victory* in running life's race
I hold onto my Anchor of great grace.
Ready to face challenges everyday
my faith clings to my Anchor on the way.
Doing utmost service while reaching-out
my faith does trust my Anchor without doubt.
Sharing precious gifts along blessings’ flow
my heart radiates my Anchor's bright glow.
Halting for delightful refreshing rest
my soul finds safety in my Anchor's breast.
Amidst journey toward heavenly flight
my sweet dreams bask under my Anchor's light.
As tomorrow awaits with hopeful gain
I cleave to my Anchor; God Who does reign.
Heart radiates joyous love*
bestowed from God above
vanquishing despair, distress, dearth
while sharing compassion mirth.
Soul manifests peaceful delight
walking along truthful light
showing Saviour's redemption gladness
extending forgiveness, goodness, kindness.
Faith continues to grow
against pain and woe
trusting the supreme Almighty
Who prevails with sovereignty.
Such is my desire
until life does expire
giving me blessed fulfillment
amidst blissful spiritual contentment!
Refuse, to ignite fuse
Whispers weave, wild bruise
Faintly forced into mouthpiece
Child playing robbers - police
Shooting flute inside nose
The breeze seeking repose
Like egotistic carnival clown
Wander behind his frown
Hopes cowards trusted crime
Burned past reveals slime
Salty bitterness sprayed away
Shipwreck on frozen day
Comfort me into restfulness
Never forget next zestfulness
Climbing trees everyday fun
And laughing has begun
We were best friends
Then one on one
Our love was strong
And our stars touched
Up in our dreams
We flew like birds
Pass past dead ends
And cars that crashed
It was us now
Free from our past
We built our nest
On a tree top
Next to a park
That wrapped our gift
Soon seeds took root
To the bird's cries
santa’s in a fix rudolph’s leg is snapped
tripped on a candy cane now the poor guy’s trapped
mrs claus is fuming elves are losing their cool
one slipped on tinsel and fell in the gift pool
how will they deliver the toys in the night
without rudolph’s bright nose guiding their flight
but then an elf shouts hey we’ve got a plan
we’ll strap some flashlights to dasher and stan
the sleigh takes off wobbling like a kite
with duct tape holding things way too tight
but somehow they manage gifts tossed left and right
merry christmas to all from this chaotic flight
It's a happy-sad ending hour at many bars
Where the parking lots are fool of cars
Where many of these spiteful patrons arrive
And then drink over the limit and some nose-dive
Mothers against drunk driving are calling
Fix your unruly ways because it’s appalling
