I have a thousand reasons not to work,
but I have only one reason to work, and that is my dream.
I have no motivation, no discipline anymore,
I only have a dream. I worked yesterday, I work today, and I will work tomorrow.
A thousand failures stand in my way,
yet for the sake of one victory, I refuse to give up.
I am enduring every defeat, every insult, every humiliation,
because one day, my time will come.
I am breathing for one reason alone,
because one day, this dream will come true.
I have no reason to live,
yet I am still here because I have a dream.
Crown of Effort by Otieno Elvis Gikoi
I have carried books through endless days,
Walked the long and winding ways.
From early dawn to fading light,
Hard work has been my guiding sight.
Exams have tested, lessons burned,
Through sleepless nights, the pages turned.
Each struggle carved a stronger me,
Each effort shaped my destiny.
Now the final year has come,
The race is near, the journey done.
I stand with courage, firm and true,
Hard work has brought me safely through.
No crown is won by idle hands,
No dream fulfilled by shifting sands.
It is the sweat, the will, the fight,
That lifts the future into sight.
Let me rise, with hope and cheer,
For hard work shines in my final year.

Old dirty blues,
Lived in and once beloved.
All that dirt speaks of time -
Stains mark a living hard earned.
Faded hand prints,
Of the love lost on the way,
Dreams of home not to be --
Pocket heavy with pennies.
I am grateful for the combination of hard work,
patience and luck
because I am experienced enough to know
If I work hard
and am patient
eventually
I’ll find the place where the four leaf clover grows.
The early bird will catch the prize,
The late one watches as time flies.
Start working now, don't wait too long,
Or dreams will fade before they're strong.
Let people talk and have their say,
Stay silent—let success display.
Fly so high and reach the sky,
Their words below will pass you by.
Learn and fight, stay strong, hold tight,
Don't give up—your future's bright.
Failures stay far from your track,
Stay yourself, no turning back.
An impotent soul wrapped with a police seal
Married a merchant and stopped bearing Jill
everyone must care, that’s how it feels
traps of superiority placed like banana pills
mutual respect losing every match five-to-nil
demanding the showering of majestic praises so unreal
that are schemed and manufactured from a rusted mill
to cover a void that can never be filled.
Confidence owns worth for self-respect and exaggeration to steal
me, myself and I, makeup the three-square-meal
ego prioritized, a major condition in every deal
insisting that the screws are not as important as the wheel.
It is always said that blessed are they who climb the hill
but they look down the foot of the mountain to see ants worthy of a kill
despite the accolades, undermining others is their zeal
loud on the success, louder on the associated vigils
winning comes with feathers, before eating the meat, you must peel
or else, there will be a heavy mention on destruction’s will.
Hard work and success go together,
As a human being, we are recognized with awards and honors,
But there are many creatures in the world,
Those who work very hard, never recognized, but achieve their goals.
The ants, with their tiny bodies and mighty strength,
Toil tirelessly, hoping they will never lose,
They carry burdens, marching in a line,
Their unwavering spirit, a divine inspiration.
The bees, gather nectar, a task they willingly bear,
Their hard work is not in vain, those who try never lose,
They build their hive with precision and care,
Their unity and diligence, a lesson we can share.
And amidst the forest, the mighty beavers reside,
Building dams and homes with unwavering pride.
Their hard work and perseverance, a testament true,
That with determination, there's nothing we can't do.
Failure is a challenge, accept it,
See what is missing and improve it,
Unless you succeed, give up your peaceful sleep,
Don’t run away from the battlefield of struggle,
There is no glory without doing something,
Those who try never lose.
Success doesn't happen overnight it comes from hard work and determination to go the extra mile
I've always done physical labor - just to know I'm alive and what my limits are
I love my job
I work all day
Hard work for me
is child’s play
Labor is its own reward
And, you know, I’m never bored
Yet every week’s
a two-edged sword --
that starts out fast
then slows down
Thursday wears a frown… but
Friday’s payday! ~ Hit the town!

~ Ma Knee Talks
Something that pays off down the road in life
Strung along, I am a fool
Always working for others
Once branded a handy tool
Foot on my neck
Boot lodged for good
I barter and sweat
A soul without identity
I work and work
Free food and amenities
However no ambition for more
The days stretch together
A day's work leaves me sore
Trapped by a leash hand-sewn
Never in search for better
I could have done well all alone
A life of nothing, wasted among time
Perhaps I could've done more
If you ask, I'm doing just fine
Built with rusted steel
Steel mined by the workers’ hands
Faceless above crowds
An angel not from the blue
But built with man’s blood and hope
In Kuwait's embrace, a star does shine,
Yousef al-Mutairi, talent refined,
On the court, he soars, with grace untold,
Representing his land, a story unfolds.
With dedication fierce, he strides the lane,
A basketball maestro, glory to attain,
A father strong, with love displayed,
Guiding his children, his heart portrayed.
In life's arena, he's done it his way,
The right path chosen, come what may,
With honor and virtue, he leads the play,
Yousef, a legend, in every way.
Many years gone from her birth since nineteen sixty-four
With hard work she got into her stride
Trinity, in her name, expanded and gained prestige.
Intermutanda, Constantia: her motto
An implication of consistency in academic excellence
In her form is excellence prevailed
Imparture of knowledge to empty little boys
As to the Messiah's impartment to his disciples
Before leaving the Earth.
Her form as mother to her virtuous boys
Nurturing their daily school work— the best
With the fear of God excellent they go.
Ergo the performance of her boys is excellent
With regards to her belief.
In her shadow delights the success of life
With allegiance her boys return, thus,
An appreciative symbol— for the work Holy Trinity has enlightened unto them
United they come, same they go.
Trinity: the school with dignity of all schools
The Best in the country
All others seem to be better, but
Holy Trinity possesses the Best.
