I let up the shade, as the sun has gone down
watching evening come in at the end of the day
It brings with it colors of umber and rust
while earth swallows dusk, which is fading to grey

From the living room window, I am hoping to see
geese flying back to their warm winter homes
All nature seems normal, routine, once again
whatever normal we can find after rain

Winter is coming and a new year begins
How will it be now, this journey, untried?
As we travel new miles, fresh grief on our sleeves,
with a tremulous smile, and with anguish and pride

Cold days arrive....There is talk on the hill
where tall pine trees have whispered
reminding the creek, and the ash trees are shedding
and katydids will not call out condolences in the dark

Soon enough, when the lark sings, wet grass will need tending
stacks of shutters will need painting,
and snow will yet need to be pushed aside

How will they cope..?
He's not here to do it...but somehow we hope
they will wade their way through it..

But for now , at a kitchen table
for these brief moments, they are able
to laugh, argue, and have fun...
                       Someone shouts out, "I won!"..

Joy is hard work...but it needs to be done

Hard Work Means Easy Success

This is a message to children who lack sincerity in school. Hard work always gives easy success. Whatever hardwork we do during our school days, decides our future for entire life. Its not only about studies but the sincerity which is developed along with it.

This is a story of two brothers.
Who lived together forever.

Both enjoyed the dignity of a patrician.
Well bred with values and tradition.
Sharp contrast of a Strategician and a tactician.

JUXTAPOSITION OF HARDWORK DURING SCHOOL DAYS

Given his druthers, Veerang would skip studies,
Would escape to play snooker and pool with buddies.
A boaster, prodigal spender and his pathological lies.
Hard work during childhood is just about studies, he didn’t realize.

Krishnang, sincere and studious, positive and jovial.
Help to mom, a great company to sisters, extremely capable.
Topper in school, loved by all, he was just so amiable.

Yes, both grew together.
One believed in hard work, another preferred leisure.

JUXTAPOSITION OF HARDWORK DURING ADULT HOOD

With freedom comes responsibility.
It’s not only about us but our family’s and parent’s dignity.
Hard work during childhood decides our ability.
Yes, our capabilities and the possibilities
In a way our acceptability and applicability.

Krishnang, goes for holidaying across nations.
Veerang is still striving to boil the ocean
What an irony, hardwork now is a compulsion.

Hard-Work Pays Off

My mother worked hard in bed. She would dig herself out of men’s pockets like a miner.
Every man was a mine shaft; she always knew what she was looking for. My mother
always managed to pay for my school fieldtrips just like all the other mothers. I liked her
for this. The night before the zoo my mother told me to lie quietly and fall asleep. I
listened. I slept on the edge of our bed like a wrinkled quilt. I could hear them:
thick gulps of sweat pounding like a galloping horse. I remember the bed quaking like
the broken engine of an old car, the sound of grinding wood and chipped teeth. The
room started to smell of burning wax. Shadows of two bodies melting into each other. I
would close one eye. My mother’s legs stretched above his shadow like the reins of a
horse. I could smell her unknotting her lungs under this cowboy sweat, gripping his
knees on her hips for support. It reminded me of the movies, how cowboys
ride horses. I could hear their bones echoing through the mattress: frenetic, resilient,
and faceless. Their bodies tangling like grapevine. The next morning, the sheets were
damp like wet grass after a shower. And my mother wore her purse like a saddle

Success Comes Through Hard Work

Success can be achieved, if we do hard work.
Failures sometime lurk.
But we should not feel grieved,
If we do hard work, success can be achieved.

To win the race, we lay onto the track,
In between many necessary things we may lack.
Several barriers might arise which are hard to face,
We lay onto the track, to win the race.

When good days arrive, bad memories disappear,
We should face the challenges without fear,
And keep on trying to thrive,
Bad memories disappear, when good days arrive.

Hard Work At Play

Challenging
ourselves
to be
better than
 the day
 before
Is the work
of our fun
at play
The game
requires that
we sweat
But the boss
says
 it's worth it
Motivation in
learning and
growing with
the goal of
 always winning
That's his way
by his speeches
Those
 who are willing
 to enjoy
this game
with
team spirit
He feels are
worth the
paycheck
So try this
hard work
with fun
and you'll
 grow to be
more meaningful
with appreciation
from your boss
You'll see
Trust in the
meaning of
sweating
 with fun
It's so worth
the winning

The Dreams

THE DREAMS

Surely, one day

We will have to get to our way

Forgetting the bad past

Hoping for the good future really fast.

Working day and night

Whether under a torch or a sunlight

Keep succeeding, oh my dear,

Keeping the things in the mind very clear.

Your nightmares should scare you

And the will be the one to dare you

But don't forget to think extreme

And feel accomplished after completion of your dream.

Everything gets changed by a positive hope

Every stream has a great scope

Until it's done,

You foolish, don't even think the battle has been won.

Start working hard

Or else become a security guard

You can do everything with your strong will

And soon the results will make you thrill.

Do the hard work now

So that you aren't embarrassed and have to bow

Try not quit

Just accept a bit.

Fix your hard goals

If you want to enjoy and eat a rice bowl

Take it up as a mission

Only one thing in your vision.

How fast goes away the time,

Now stop playing with the slime

Be brave but do not cry

Answer everyone who asks you why.

This is a very tough fight

But work hard if you want to be in the spotlight

So, try and give a start

Hope you all will become smart.

You should have its fear

You could even get your eyes filled with tear

Everything is very precious

And good future us auspicious.

Hard Work, Success and Failure

When we look at the mouth of a warrior
We think he never sucked his mother’s breast
The birds that rest on the Iroko
Does not know how the Iroko grew
The heart that persevered in pain
Is the heart that will rejoice with gain
Like the Hibernating hedge hog
Metamorphosing to life after winter
Whales and sharks are not found in shallow waters
The man who swims against the turbulent tides
Of deep shark and whale infested murky waters
Will get the whale oil, make a shark’s fin soup
Or wear a shark’s leather jacket
The resilient hand that never says die
Sculpts stumbling blocks into stepping stones
And squeezes water out of rock
Like a gold stone that passed through a furnace
And became the priceless gold ornament
Separating the men from the boys
The pot that wants cooked food
Must be scorched by the furious and ferocious fire
It is when the palms have been soiled by sand
That the mouth will be soiled by oil
The hand that is not soiled by sand
Makes the mouth to be soiled by sand
People like the mouth soiled by oil
Because it can also soil their mouth with oil
The mouth soiled by oil
Has many names, relatives and friends
But the mouth soiled by sand
Has few name, few relatives and few friends.

Hard Work

You.
Yes you.
Are hard work.
There's nothing more to it.
The scarcity of my vocabulary limits me from describing the complexity of the situation buuut yes.

You are toilsome.
Tedious the father.
Perseverance the mother.
And you are the unmistakable offspring.
You are the reason I have sleepless nights that seemingly yield no reply.
You have been found guilty of being the causation of my sweat excretion.

You persistently infiltrate what was once a routine prayer without you.
Now my God knows about you. Through me.
Indeed, that's quite the accolade.
How you managed to systematically permeate through to every area of my life
Trepidation being the result of this uncontrollable cascade
And ultimately increasing the probably of my hesitancy.

You're hard work.

But you're also hard work.

You are the blossoming reward of my efforts, enveloping smiles encapsulated by the glorious figure you adorn.

Your demeanor and grace, weigh up as reason enough to continue on effortfully.

My body may be weakened by the strenuous activity
but God remains hard at work within me equipping me for the hard work you present
And you've proven to be worthy of the cause. Timeously.

What started as ambivalence progressed into what can only be described as Irrefutable pleasure.

Molding my being through the work you present remains a addictive pleasure.
Ecstasy. You excite me.

The future is never guaranteed in the present, but as you continue to preparedly present yourself in my present, I will continue to receive your presence as a precious present.

You may be hard work, but you're my hard work
A task I solemnly lay claim to
And together we shall walk, reaping the rewards to come in this toilsome, yet, gratifying journey.

Hard Work Pays Off

Hard Work And Sweat Turned We Boys Into Men

Every summer we picked berries on the hill,
sweating to gather enough for mom to make a pie.
Wading among the insects and the dreaded snakes
we worked because hunger was a daily deal.

As farm children we were taught to pitch in,
to do as told and help out as was needed.
Any chore was to be done quickly and done right
hard work and sweat turned we boys into men.

Hunting game animals was not just a sport,
it was a means to keep our family well fed.
Taught how to gather more for much less(ammo)
father the judge ruling over our hunting court.

Living on the thin edge was not a great pleasure.
Looking back, I see Dad and we were his treasure!

The Way War Veterans Suffer For Ours Hard Work

I look and saw how much war veterans like me suffer when we come back from war,We don't have anyone to comfort us,the power is on the side of those that beat us down,I look and saw how much war veterans like me suffer with tears in ours and sadness on ours faces,We don't have anyone to comfort us,the power is on the side of those that beat us down,I look and saw how much war veterans like me suffer, where we should be treated right,we are treated wrong,we have no one to comfort us,the power is on the side of those that beat us down,I look and saw how much war veterans like me suffer, where we should be treated fairly we are treated unfairly, the power is on the side of those that beat us down,We don't have anyone to comfort us,I look and saw how much war veterans like me suffer, where we should be treated kind,we are treated unkind, the power is on the side of those that beat us down,We don't have anyone to comfort us,I still can see the tears of war veterans like me suffing from coming back from war,We don't have anyone to comfort us,the power is on the side of those that beat us down,I look and saw war veterans like me suffer, where we should be treated good we are treated badly,I still can see the tears of war veterans like me suffing who are still on this earth while ours conrades have paid the price and die for this country,We still don't have anyone to comfort us, the power is on the side of those that beat us down,I look and saw the country on 9/11 when the enemy came and bomb the USA,We was there to comfort the country and the people that lost love ones, the power was on the side of the military of the USA,We beat them down,so I ask this question????? Who are going to comfort us now,we are no longer soldiers but war veterans all mess up we was not born this way but got this way for fighting for ours country////// SSG Jack Thomas Kirt

Hard Work Pays Off

Such little fingers type so slow
I watch along as when he goes
Reports for typing, research too
He’ll get it done, that’s what he’ll do
But, even if it takes all week
He’ll find all answers he so seeks
As 4th grade can be hard enough
He won’t give up on schoolwork stuff
He likes to know he finished well
With a smile he reads, knowing he excelled

Premium Member I could not talk about it, so I wrote a poem

Hard work and success go together,
As a human being, we are recognized with awards and honors,
But there are many creatures in the world,
Those who work very hard, never recognized, but achieve their goals.

The ants, with their tiny bodies and mighty strength,
Toil tirelessly, hoping they will never lose,
They carry burdens, marching in a line,
Their unwavering spirit, a divine inspiration.

The bees, gather nectar, a task they willingly bear,
Their hard work is not in vain, those who try never lose,
They build their hive with precision and care,
Their unity and diligence, a lesson we can share.

And amidst the forest, the mighty beavers reside,
Building dams and homes with unwavering pride.
Their hard work and perseverance, a testament true,
That with determination, there's nothing we can't do.

Failure is a challenge, accept it,
See what is missing and improve it,
Unless you succeed, give up your peaceful sleep,
Don’t run away from the battlefield of struggle,
There is no glory without doing something,
Those who try never lose.

Route To Wassce

ROUTE TO WASSCE

As I step my first leg in Grade 12 race,
My thoughts begin to focus more on WASSCE
As it get closer and closer each day
Confused I become on the way
I’m I well prepared to avoid dismay?
Would exams be in May?
Or would it will be as early as April?
Cuz I spent my Grade 10 trying to settle down
For some of my subjects are new in town
In Grade 11, the syllabus goes on to frown
I’m constrained with time and need this crown
I’ve missed my contact hours due to countless breaks
I need to burn the midnight candle to catch up with time
I can’t attend the extra classes cuz can’t afford the dime
But I believe with determination, I can reach my destination
I must tie my belt and desist procrastination
Until then, I must study harder to be part of the celebration
With distinctions to raise the flag of my nation
And this I must do to pass my WASSCE examination
