Trapped in the illusion of temporary gratification,
No one looks in the mirror for clarification.
Delighted with just inappreciable things,
Who knows? The soul seeks eternal bliss.
Imagination is surrounded by beauty.
Nobody thinks of the flip side's shoddy
Running around beautiful things,
Without thinking of real wings,
Will you find in it eternal bliss?
Eternal beauty finds its source in gods,
Not in the shoddy things of the world's lobes,
Fall in love with God only,
Not with deceived humanity,
The soul would be satisfied easily.
Still pond, smooth stone rests,
Ripples fade, clear water shines,
Sun-warmed, silent peace.

His tears faded away
with the most concerning
image of tommorrow ever
seen
modern usage of a Jollux
man. Spearing to victory
or so he seemed
as he speared up
meat and cabbages
for the supper he
had planned.
It would exclude his wife
who wished him
to look to something more
healthy
as he would only smile
at the sight of fat and richly
savoring treats.
He used the term
Beef-witted to decribe her
as she only liked to
shame him
might she find support against him
with snoutflairs
aannd consorted people
"those who wished us apart:
mind you they seek tresure
and lack the concern for your
well being"
he told his wife as she
looked lustinhly at the folk
on the hot busy beach.
" might a need to be apart
from me find you with the studs
here watching you
My Darling?"
She frowned and spoke of his
wonderings as trival and him
as crazy: knowing that he
only wished her to
trusted and true to him
The price of delayed gratification
In the currency of patience, we pay the toll,
For the price of delayed gratification takes its toll.
We sacrifice the present for a distant gain,
Enduring hardship, persevering through pain.
In the quiet moments, when doubts arise,
We question the worth, we analyze.
Yet in the heart's chambers, a whisper persists,
That delayed gratification, in the end, insists.
We sow the seeds and tend the soil,
Watered by perseverance, despite the toil.
For in the harvest season, we reap the reward,
The fruits of patience, richly stored.
Though the waiting may seem endless and long,
In the tapestry of time, our efforts belong.
For delayed gratification, though it demands much,
Yields treasures of resilience, character, and such.
So let us embrace the journey, though it may be slow,
For the price of delayed gratification, we come to know.
In the discipline of waiting, we find our strength,
And in the end, the rewards will exceed the length.
Tell me something boss..
It is wrong to watch Poorn?
I am not forcing anyone..
What is wrong If I want some
Self Gratification???
Royal Matriarch
Beloved, cherished, idolized
Who could this person be?
A pop star or the president?
A hot celebrity?
Not even close, ten cuts above
A modest hero reigns
A selfless woman, strong and bold
A beauty with the brains
This person is no other than
The royal matriarch
The solid rock beneath our feet
Our night light in the dark
A shoulder for our heavy hearts
An ear to catch our plight
The silver lining through it all
Our wings when we take flight
Happy Mother’s Day to you
My mother, my dear friend
If words relayed my gratitude
My book would never end…
1st place!

The finer things in life are not diamonds and pearls
But desire a good reputation and the principled life.
Think about it, my friend, not all of those glitzy girls
Are ultimately as desirable as a faithful, loving wife.
But desire a good reputation and the principled life,
Cherishing virtue well-obtained is quite satisfying,
Are ultimately as desirable as a faithful, loving wife
Knowing you’re grounded you’ll find most gratifying.
Cherishing virtue well-obtained is quite satisfying
When you are taking stock of your goals in life,
Knowing you’re grounded you’ll find most gratifying
Like living peacefully with others, eschewing strife.
When you are taking stock of your goals in life
Think about it, my friend, not all of those glitzy girls
Like living peacefully with others, eschewing strife,
The finer things in life are not diamonds and pearls.

Like sands
Through the hourglass
My thoughts percolate
Between instant gratification
And long-term resolution.
Like an unfaltering pool
Of sinking sand
My dissatisfaction agglutinates
With foolish gibberish
To obscure optimism.
Like a withering stalk
My shrivelling aspiration
Matches and clashes
With swelling inertia
Resulting in dispiriting
Deprivation of direction.
Like a valley of ash
My barren essence
Gasps for restitution -
For a preserving elixir
To cogently overturn
The demise of time.
A good book gives great gratification,
Be it a mystery, a thriller or romance,
I love them all,
And when it's Christian fiction,
I love them even more,
From Francena Arnold to Karen Kingsbury to Denise Hunter,
I simply love their writing,
Enid Blyton caught my attention as a child,
As did the story of Esther, David, Hannah and Samson,
And then when I was in college,
Came Jane Austen and Charlotte Bronte,
And the history of the nation of Israel,
Today, I should say that I'm obsessed with reading,
Sometimes, it's poetry by Helen Steiner Rice,
Sometimes, it's simply Sherlock Holmes or Nicholas Sparks,
But a good book sure gives great gratification to me.

For Regina's "My Obsession" contest
Nippy crisp morning’s walk
Condensed clouds gathering for a dance
Sounds of cheerful birds whistling their customary songs
Underneath a hoody, shivering body feels cold wind’s upshot
Fallen leaves have ornamented the path
A huge Maple tree has shown a big heart
Loosening its grip, it has given permissions to its leaves to drop
Turning them into spectacular reds, oranges, yellows and browns of all sorts
Leaves come down twirling with poise
Steered by airstream showing their magnificent styles
Feeling their soft touch Mother Earth smiles
Cuddles them gently while whispering sweet lullabies
Feeling her warmth, with gratification they start crumpling up
After working hard in spring and summer they are very tired
Are eager to provide their beloved tree their last nutrients
By blending into the earth the remains of their characters
As they decompose, their nutrients filter into soil
Help enrich future generations of plant and animal life
A significant message they instill without pride
To let go of things that hold us back in our daily lives
Here marks the age
Of evolution in reverse
Though finally escaping
The clutches of the church
The craze of social media
Has us on our knees
With the touch of a thumb
We’ve acquired all our needs
We need not for hunting
Exploring or chasing
We swipe and we like
For instant gratification
Needles mask our wrinkles
Pills hide our pain
Botox and fillers
Soon we’ll all look the same
Human connection
Replaced with technology
Materialistically rich
Spiritually in poverty
Every individual is in search
of sexual gratification,
living in the intensity of emotion;
be it love, a sense of belonging,
the security of a relationship or intense devotion.
We all need to find ourselves completed.
No person can function to full focus if not satisfied.
It has to be a continuous process of discovery and sharing,
unmutilated by conventions.

submitting to the P~o~U~n~D~i~N~g waves
ocean eyes engulf, begging release
triumphantly, I moan my assent
*mastery brings me sweet gratification*

For Nette's Jue Ju Contest
Flexing the six feet physique
to fill the eight inch stomach
Whole body with heart and soul
do sweat until fatigue to have bread
for the quarter stomach only.
Labour Without seeing day or night, fully
to see the smiles of children.
Toil and moil of the poor is a mockery for the slaving rich.
If the nation makes it clear free education to all until 18
Allow us to learn any lingoes
Oh my beloved country!
Offer us shelter books, food and dress free
Equate every student without discrimination
But employ us only by our talent
Execute the same in the general election
Never try extracting grafts from the poor
Make us to live fellow beings without division
If every one gets right pay for the right labour,
To make our country to lead others
If it’s so we’re greatly gratified!
Oxygen spews out from peculiar plants
Carbon Dioxide releases from burning fuels…
Our lives are close at stake…we’re dispersing about like ants
Oxygen slips into the hungry mouths of billions of living beings
Each breath we take…
each step we take…
Could be a lifelong mistake…
Oxygen makes our bodies feel energized and flourished
Magma brews inside volcanoes –
Erupting odium…
Reacting to earthly heat and high pressure
Oxygen sprouts when trees continue their growth spurts,
Regardless of their struggle to survive…
Revive…bidding to stay alive…
Just keep on thriving…the sun will arrive…
Enigma surrounds our planet Earth –
Black holes and galaxies fill our sight with pleasure
My curiosity’s sterilized by visions of the future soon to come
I’m willing to discover dark matter in my own hands…
My ingenious mind recovers from a breakdown,
Peeling speedy evidence by the minute…I succumb
To my vital meaning of life…I breathe in the oxygen
Of amassed gratification
