Premium Member Better Names for an Octopus

A better name for an octopus?
It's tough to make stuff up.
We could start with a brand-new appellation.
How about a name like "Suction Pup"?!

Or perhaps we could start the debate
with a numerical tag like "Ocean's Eight".

Another name open for discussion
would be a handle like "Squid's Cousin".

Still another, somewhat grandiloquent,
could be the rather pompous "Inknificent".

My Scottish friends, with joy, will weep
if the new label is "Bagpipes of the Deep"!

Or one can almost hear sailors shout "Ahoy!
Is that a rock? No, it's an Ol' Tangly Boy!"

Premium Member a modern girls delay

(a disastrous morning Sonnet)

I am the very model of a girl who’s late for morning meal,
my charger failed, the printer jammed, the morning’s start has been surreal
I lost a scrunchy and a shoe, I had to use some dry shampoo
my Keurig had no k-cups too, so I’m feeling like a total shrew!

Our pre-dawn jog went really well, but now the morning's gone to hell
I couldn’t find clean underwear, I’m desperate to charge my cell,
I got some soap in my left eye, I stubbed my toe and nearly cried
While brushing teeth and hair in haste, I wonder why I even try.

Anna’s got an attitude; she’s not someone who’s normally rude
her hookup so ‘experimental’ has an irregular sleep-in schedule
how’s she going to get to class if she’s babysitting sleeping-lass
I guess I’m not the only one, who’s schedules simply come undone.

I woke her with a gentle voice and soothed her out—we had no choice
My morning happened to sideways go—but it fueled this grandiloquent tale of woe!

Morier Invictus

Esoteric enchantress mellifluously serenades
Abattoir hymn of threnody in this boudoir
Quintessential embodiment of thanatopsis
Quixotic dreamscape’s lachrymose fountain
Melody of scarlet puppetry in a masquerade
Grandiloquent gaiety phantasmagoric vitae

Premium Member A Brief Thought On Kindness

Oftentimes, as I‘m sure you also think, I can be a bit grandiloquent, loquacious and verbose in words that I have inked…
Well, today is proof that sometimes (and I stress sometimes) I can also be succinct:

Today a short note about kindness…for how often do we find…
to our loved ones…to our friends…our family…it is easy to be kind..

I wonder what our world would look like if that kindness overflowed…
onto every creature of the Earth…even those we do not know.

Would we be blessed to wake up one morning…look around and find…
a world where we can all be different…and still be one of a kind?

Well I hope you have enjoyed, as I have, this breviloquent sojourn…
because there’s a good chance come tomorrow…
my verboseness will return.

Premium Member Before and After

He used to be:
   wordy, verbose, prolix,
   chatty, jejune, digressive,
   tedious, long-winded, repetitive,
   elaborate, grandiloquent, loquacious,
   pretentious, comprehensive, circumlocutory

Now he is:
   pithy

Premium Member Shadow of a Neutrino

Shadow Of A Neutrino

A grandiloquent assumption of man in having a vast expanse

of knowledge regarding the enigmatic progressions

of the infinite universe is as illusive as seeing

the hazy mirage of the physical

                                              shadow of a Neutrino

Penned sometime in the past
decade or so...

Premium Member My Dreams

Some of them are drifting vapor,
fluid pastel flavoring my tongue.
When awake, they linger like nectar,
or the hidden symbols of Jung.

Others are more like nesting dolls,
hand painted selves inside of selves,
secret centers wrung in reluctant recalls.
Narcotic sleep concocts misshapened shelves.

Still others are Fabergé eggs,
grandiloquent intricacies, ornate and refined,
interior parlors absent of regs.
Fantastic reservoirs are carefully designed.

But most of them are made of celluloid,
cinematic and impossible to avoid.

Premium Member Today Is the First Day of Happiness

Apprehend a blessed moment
of wonderful haughty agreeableness

Embroider it into a legacy hour
Exhilarated and motivated yet?

Not a gargantuous task
bohunks and lunkheads can do it

Jocular? Not me.
Grandiloquent perhaps.

Lavish yourself with volumes of joy
Be flexible, accept inspiration

Today is the first day of happiness
encouraging many succeeding such days

Glean hope and faith so you can
share it and embellish it

Deranged? Not any more than I was
yesterday or the day before

Evangeline

Buttercup as an anemone, I see my bonbon
In the midst of a wharve spin,
Graciously thin languette,
Ecclesiastic, a true coquette,
Offered for a handful of sequin
On the 1000-thread linen, rests Evangeline!

Shine the uptown shrine with whispering vocal cords
As the frock is overcome with a slow descend,
Never mind the sallow ambience of
An ageing Jesuit mission, or thereof,
Words of prohibition annulled by disparlure:
Madame! – as they say, I don’t kiss-poor.

My appearance, utterance of faith,
Expected and grandiloquent,
Clasped the mortification with inflamed blood,
Yet budding desire, instantly prescribed,
Not to let it out of my sight.
But to greybeard wonderful torrents of luxury,
About to 5G live-stream this imperious rite
Will put a stop to any cavil,
A cue in hand to excite ’n’ appease the inner devil,
I abide the coming, Evangeline!

Cordial satisfaction, marvellous plantation of joy,
Memento mori, I must this very moment, I must die.

Who Can Argue Miracles Exist?

No man, be he grandiloquent or coarse;
             be he a learned novel or tattered page;
             be he devout in faith or drenched in doubt;
be he a man replete with shame of sin:
No man (unless an empty man who flaps like cynic’s skin)
who has watched the early sun come out
or heard the song of sparrows spared the cage:
No man in love with his daughters: No man in love with his universe.

La-Di-Da Land

La-di-da land

In la-di-da land
The style is grand

The people are presumptuous
And their spending ostentatious

Their language is grandiloquent
But their thinking faculty is somnoluent

There, the smallest animal is elephant
And their look is elegant

The people love conspicuous consumption
And at all times, they crave for sweet sensation

Orotund In the New Year

Bombastic… So grandiloquent
We are stated to be pompous asses.
Therefore, our outcry is heard.
2017 is over.
We are ready to bring in the New Year when the clock hits eleven.
One more hour to go.
Yet, time is moving too slow.
So, we party!
We are dancing and singing our favorite songs.
Illumining where we are demonstrative and high-flown.

Magniloquent… So bombastic
We are as plain as eyesight.
Our excitement is not pretentious.
We ready to blow minds.
2018 is the year to overcome the barriers that preexist.
It is time to move on and the past is history.
This because we are futuristic.
Orotund in the New Year with laughter and good will.

Domestic Violence

We need to seriously talk about living in a dangerous predicament
Where everything in your life is awry.
You won't win an argument.
It's no accident
When a person receives a black eye.
We need to seriously talk about living in a dangerous predicament.
He wants to make you subservient.
For you to feel motified and by his hands you could
Even possibly die.
You won't win an argument
These attacks will be come more frequent.
Believe me! I can testify.
We need to seriously talk about living in a dangerous predicament.
The man is virulent as well as violent.
Please! Don't deny.
You won't win an argument.
It's amazing how you do things that are inconvenient to
His grandiloquent
Way of life which just goes to signify
We need to seriously talk about living in a dangerous predicament.
You won't win an argument.

When We Are Waiting Horn Haiku

When We Are Waiting Horn Haiku

Going down to see lovely Tax Ladies
this morning so I can get some of
their grandiloquent assistance.

Here is the Horn Haiku I wrote for
them in their honor.

Thought this sounds so grand;
They should have a coffee stand;
For those in waiting.

Can you be a male and still
remain in waiting after with
fine female you were mating?

We can wait for all kinds of things
these days. One of them is for
Trump to keep his big mouth shut.

Premium Member Breathtaking Night

Beyond the limits of my finite mind
Right past the layered air is where I find
Eternity is etched in orbs that glow
And as I gaze, I'm breathless by the show
The garb of night embellished by the stars
Haphazard not one orbit, there is Mars
Triumphant, every constellation rules
Adoring thoughts ascend from human fools
Kinetic, though to me, they're standing still
Inspired, I take in celestial thrill
No single thing can match this wondrous sight
Grandiloquent the stars that bring delight!
