He used to be:
   wordy, verbose, prolix,
   chatty, jejune, digressive,
   tedious, long-winded, repetitive,
   elaborate, grandiloquent, loquacious,
   pretentious, comprehensive, circumlocutory

Now he is:
   pithy

With my recent entry into the world of haikus, I think this is exactly the change that has come over me ! A very clever write, John ! Brevity is the soul of wit.... but sometimes one has to be verbose too
