Her Autumn Kimono was Goofed

Coal tar zombie mouth leaks town gas syrup
Meat hook telegraphy indicator cameras hypnagogic
Liverwurst elegy beneath the frosting
Cinderblock reverie churns with mildew

Manus? Grilled cheese sandwich.

Cantonal enchantress, covered blossoms.
Necropolis euthanized, springtime salad.
Rhinestone rookery smothers loquat

Premium MemberThe Cro-Magnon Dinner

When the Cro-Magnan’s sat down to eat their fare,
The master screamed, and went on a tear.
Grunting, ‘Woman you goofed,
Coz on this saber tooth,
I bit through one of your yard long gross hairs!’

She yelled, ‘That’s what you get when being fed,
After dragging me around by my head.
So enough is enough
And I’m getting tough.’
He quipped, ‘Yeah, just like the food on this spread.’

Although words from both of them sounded brave,
She truly thought of him as a low knave.
And he was amiss
Aiming for a kiss,
Coz on that night he slept out of the cave.

My Prescription

Your prescription is ready,
The pharmacy wrote.
Reminders were steady,
Each day a new note.

I gave in at last,
Just a ten minute stroll.
Get it over with fast
Was my Saturday goal.

No big deal, but a chore
I did not want to do.
When I entered the store,
It was quiet; I knew

That I’d goofed, for my watch
Said ‘twas 1:35,
Which means that I did botch
When I chose to arrive.

From 1:30 to 2,
They pull down every gate
So the pharmacy crew
Can have lunch; no debate.

Though annoyed at myself
(I’d forgotten this fact)
Nothing on any shelf
Made this shopper react.

So I left, even though
Today’s task wasn’t done
But tomorrow, I’ll go
Before break time’s begun.

Please Forgive Me

Flipping back the pages of my time
I realised I messed up some times
Given a stage in a dance hall
But kicked myself hard in the balls
Wrecked in the shame of my fall
A loved one I can no longer call
I'm sorry for the truth untold
And for the lies that bursted in the cold
The lust that maimed me I allowed
An own goal that should be disallowed
The man in me drained and left me in hallows

It wasn't a game I wanted to play
Was a trade I thought we would gain
Faced with a scene that was insane
Ought to be a night of solace
But ended up a slap on your face
I know this apology is long delayed
I just hope it's never too late
I cant stand the shame I brought to your space
I apologise for the shame I caused
For the pain rather than love
Heartbreak and the rude shock
It wasn't what it's worth

Wishing I can do this in person
But can't stand the judgement of treason
I goofed, and I had no reason for that
No matter how long I freeze my woes within
My apology won't have the best of season.
I regret my actions and inactions
And I hope you heal and forgive me
I'm sorry please
Wasn't my intent to cause you hurt

Hand in hand two sprites on a magic flight
with wings of crystal glass and fairy light
they flew, inside an abstract sky of white
wing to wing, one was nimble one was bright

Wearing taffet gowns of silky swishes
they were often flourishing their wishes
blessing all with benign hugs and squishes
tiny pixies, no bigger than mom's dishes

They were sent to baby rooms and wee ones
they shone like light from fifty golden suns
but every now and then they goofed all thumbs
and landed in a cabbage patch, oh crumbs !

they flew like Peter Pan and Tinker Bell
with magic wands to cast a spell, pell-mell
they scurried this way that and then oh well
they crazed it up and then they cast a spell.

I'm not wild about Harry.
Since he has lost the plot,
Whinging and moaning
And gossiping a lot.

He thinks he is hard done by
And everyone is unfair
To this spoilt prince
With the flaming red hair

His hair is not the only thing that flames.
He has a bad temper too,
He makes trouble and complains
Because he has nothing else to do

He thinks he is special,
And entitled in every way
Everyone should bow down to him
And agree with what he says.

Perhaps we would listen,
If what he says is true
But what has become his truth
Become lies to me and you

He was very privileged.
A Prince among men
You have goofed it, Harry
You will have to think again.

Adrenaline, he’s no stranger;
danger is his middle name.
Don’t fan his flame; you’ll just succumb,
get maimed in some little game.

Embarrassed to say, I had it correct, posted, edited, and goofed the first line. Don't we all do that? probably not... Fixed now. Deviously difficult to me.

Premium MemberGlitch In the Matrix

The Soup is playing tricks on me
Or I am losing what is left
On my grasp on reality
And WhatsHisName’s committed theft.

Time and again, I write a verse,
Submit it to a contest next,
Return to find it gone, or worse,
Imagine holes in my cortex.

I know I’ve goofed a time or two,
I might go high as three or four,
But, Soup, you’ve got a glitch in you
And it’s not one that I adore.

Abecedarian I am,
But steady at this game of late,
By double-check, careful exam
To see my poem through the gate.

On my return on the next day,
I’ll check to see if it’s still there,
And, nope, appears it’s gone away;
A real pain in the derrière.

It’s probably some kind of sign:
Eschew the contests and just write,
But is this problem only mine,
Or have you also had this fight?

Read

Read
Trees (solidity presenting)
Fluttering leaves
The light kissed plants merry with the wind free and clean
The rain stream glimmering to
a speckled burst of sun
Gentle easy rolling chuckle of
The sighing creek
Uncluttered sea green
Ah read the ripple (and if you hanker success that day, smell the dirt)
Read
The people prevarications (attendant chicanery) digitally respirating goofed on technology / hope's dilution on endless extension
Read
The blank vista
Cloud proclamations and
Twilights gold riddled clarification
That shall permit languishing

Books and songs have been my
Life's blood
But then it is just schmo/mooks mouthing off
Read
The perfect view point
To watch the world go
**** up

Soak up your/ time / space /
Up to
This eventual farewell / for now /

Premium MemberFlowers and Weeds

Flowers and Weeds.
Both come from seeds,
Weeds and seeds flower
I have always had a need,
To question,
Why does the flower have more power?
Weeds can be pretty,
Too pretty to destroy,
I don' think its petty,
Its something that would annoy,
Me if I were a weed,
Indeed,
It would.
Has Mother Nature goofed it up,
One kind of a weed is a buttercup.
Flowers and weeds have all got names,
Does this not make them the same?
I hope Mother Nature doesn't have a pecking order,
Sadly my feelings would change toward her.

Premium MemberPutin's Song

~ In the Kremlin ~

To the melody of 'In the Ghetto'
Recorded by Elvis Presley, c. 1966

On a cold and dreary Moscow morn
Another Commie baby born
In the Kremlin; in the Kremlin

Well his mama said
hope you don't like bread
'cos I only have potato shreds
in the Kremlin; in the Kremlin

So he grew up lean
And nasty mean
Joined the KGB
Made him just like me* *Like me, V. Putin
In the Kremlin; in the Kremlin

Now he didn't see
My raging jealousy --
He thought I'd let him be
Run fast and free --
But truth be known
His seeds were sown
He'd moan and groan
In misery
And I* set him up... *I, V. Putin

He thought fortune smiled:
He'd gun down planes
And he'd shoot up trains
But when he goofed
They fried his brains
In the Kremlin; in the Kremlin... (Fadeout)

Faith can move mountains
Love conquers all
Words resonating with truth
Two simple lines
That says everything we need to know
If we choose to heed them
Some of us try and fail miserably
Some don't try
None are free from sin
Nobody is perfect in this imperfect world
We have made for ourselves
From the beginning, God gave us freedom of choice
We goofed it (Big Time)
Selfishness and greed can overpower faith and love
Putting obstacles in the way of everything that is said and done
Devastating as Covid-19 war is something had to happen
To make people realise that things had gone too far
The virus is an invisible enemy attacking all Countries and cultures
We are all in the same boat together
Without language, religious, colour divisions being an issue
All working together as a team
To rid us all of the anxiety and despair that this pandemic is causing worldwide
God's way of shaking a finger at the world in disapproval
The same way any caring father would do
If his family had not listened to him

Kobe Twenty Four Seven

Soon, I must awake
From this deep, traumatized,
Deadly, dreary, doomed, dream
Of the devil and it's advocates
Afflicting my mind
Like a plague;
A ferocious flash flood
With a dubious proclamation:
Ah! the great mamba is gone?
An Iroko tree has fallen!

The wicked, cold, cruel,
Clamy, claws of death
Has stricken Los Angeles,
And the world
With a plague deadlier
Than Pharaoh's and his kinsmen
On the day of Passover
Momentarily, the dreary, deadly
Wings of darkness
Has overshadowed and blanketed
Los Angeles, eclipsing the brilliant,
Illuminating light which shone
Forty one years over the world
Stealing away our sobriety

The great mamba?
This must be a dream!
Soon, I must awake
From this dreary, doomed slumber
To the reality
That:
the great mamba is not dead!
He is peacefully sleeping
Twenty four seven with the lord
Death you goofed on this one
Kobe, just scored a three pointer
Against the cold, clamy, claws of death!
Rest in peace Kobe!

Ode To My Nalgene

O dearest container,
how lost I am without thee.
Simply put, I need you, or
my mouth would be deserty.
You’re filled with life,
a liquid born of the gods,
or rather their pee.
O gasp, what strife,
if I were to lose my pod,
I couldn’t live without ye.

O dearest container,
I fear I have goofed.
For after I laid with her
you disappeared with a poof!
I called and I texted,
she must be well rested,
you’ve got me all stressed.
Just then the phone rang,
and I shot off with a bang,
to retrieve my beloved from her shame.

O dearest container,
we are reunited.
I may now be happier,
but we haven’t yet fighted.
How dare you go and stay with a woman,
she is mean, she is cruel, she is unkind,
she even might have washed you.
You belong with me and my bosom,
I’m sure it was her who made you so blind,
for no one may wash ‘ol blue.

My New Colander

I bought a brand-new colander
‘Cause mine was at its end.
I’ll bet you think that there’s an error
In the word I’ve penned.

But though I also purchased
(A coincidence, but true)
A calendar today, a fresh new
Colander was due.

The old one fell apart; I hope
The new one does the trick.
To those of you who thought I goofed,
I guess you’re not so slick!
