Flowers and Weeds

Flowers and Weeds. Both come from seeds, Weeds and seeds flower I have always had a need, To question, Why does the flower have more power? Weeds can be pretty, Too pretty to destroy, I don' think its petty, Its something that would annoy, Me if I were a weed, Indeed, It would. Has Mother Nature goofed it up, One kind of a weed is a buttercup. Flowers and weeds have all got names, Does this not make them the same? I hope Mother Nature doesn't have a pecking order, Sadly my feelings would change toward her.

Hello Shirley ... a long time ago I was advised that a weed is a plant growing in the wrong place. Many criticize the dandelion yet it is so beneficial to us health wise - thank you Shirley - Lindsay

Agreed Shirley…there are some lovely looking weeds out there. Maybe you should start calling your weeds flowers and see if it takes off?? Take around a nice bunch of flowering weeds to a friend and see what they say…..hehe….that would be funny!! Food for thought…..Debx

Enjoyed, Shirley! Weeds make it into the hands of little ones. Those dandelions sing in their hands, a cheap and precious bouquet. Doesn’t last but a day except in my memory. At the start of the pandemic, I would have my grandsons over and we would take a walk. We couldn’t go to the playground but we could get fresh air.

I've had some of these thoughts myself, Shirley. Man chose to call some weeds and some flowers. Like you mentioned, some are flowering weeds. Maybe the only difference is in how they are perceived. Just saying. Your friendly poet, Bill

I think that's right Bill. Every Spring I have a pretty blue flowering vine that entwines around a rock wall in my garden, it is a weed but I water it and it gives me great pleasure. I hope you are enjoying your day. Take care ... Shirley
