a formidable stallion Prix came into the yard and we gasped
His turquoise mane was shaped like peacock feathers
with their kind of spherical designs at the fringes
his coloring rivaled a male peacock’s feathers
Prix glistened in the sun, showing off his purples,
His blue greens, his gold’s with his flashing blue eyes
As he got closer he began high-stepping it
Showing off his Nancy Sinatra’s white boots.
This stallion changed the entire ambiance of the barnyard.
The fillies and mares were neighing in appreciation.
Our other stallion had turned his back, and began chewing violently.
This is going to be good, we thought, and of course it was.

She was a formidable predator; loved the taste of blood.
Did not need anyone cooked or braised; liked meat raw.
There was only one she-monster in the woods, which was fine.
The rest of us stayed out of her way, unsure whether she had eaten.

The Wind howls in solitude,
unstoppable, in Her might.
And brushing the scenery,
She dusts off the stars at night.
Her sensual, tactile touch;
offering pleasure and death.
She whistles through the treetops;
fluttering leaves with Her breath.
Invisible: She ferries
dandelion tufts aloft.
And reacts to Nature's whim;
with a storm, or gentle waft.
She is the weaver of clouds
yet scatters them all astray.
She's a formidable force;
with considerable sway.
A salty sailor's mistress
and the godmother of kites.
She is like a playful friend:
who tickles, and sometimes, bites.

He was a formidable knight, young Crusader Jim.
The ladies of the kingdom were afraid of him
When summoned to his lair, they were slow to go.
Afraid they would not return for he was a show.
The other knights of the castle had tried to befriend him
But he was a lone wolf, this fierce being dubbed Jim.
He sat in the corner ‘til was the army’s turn to fight
Running to danger with every ounce of his might.
He was scary and dangerous, this champion of the queen.
Stories of his exploits were well known; he was brutally mean.
He did not mind slashing you to ribbons or cutting off your head.
He was vicious and ruthless, everywhere including the bed.
So if he summons you to come hither, my girl, make an escape.
Put on a cloak and run swiftly into the forest, saving your nape.
Young Crusader Jim is brutal, a killer, a murderer, a lout.
Keep your eyes down not making eye contact if you want to get out.
If you are a knight from another kingdom not far away,
Matched up in battle, stay away from this silver and gray.
He will slash you and stab you and lop off your head.
You will be brutally slain and rather promptly be dead.

On this vessel for far too long.
But as captain, I can't jump ship.
The land taunts, to me you belong.
Why did you agree to this trip.
On board for just over a year.
Mentally trying to stay strong.
Losing my marbles I do fear.
My career choice was very wrong.
Crashing waves sing a mocking song.
So you thought you could handle me.
Vastness of my waves are headstrong.
From me you will never be free.
I will invade your dreams at night.
Haunting nightmares I can prolong.
Decision you make should be right
Accept, then can we can get along

Their eyes are sparkling eager bright.
Their brains sharp and poignant.
They know more than I have forgotten.
Their imaginations are surpassed only by their idealism.
They are ready to fix the world. Inspire world peace.
Take garbage out of the oceans. They are formidable.
An army of purity, and spiritual grace and goodness.
They are the children.
If we were wise we would listen.
They are the closest to God.
Still hearing what we need to do to save humanity and our planet.
Sh!
Listen….

formidable to the last
is funny when you think
you are strong
yet life temptation
proves you are weak
only the willing
move when they decide
cos actions
determine the value
of spoken words
so my tribute to
the late brave
will always be a
gratitude forever
they are the God
of every suffering
generation
their strength
is a formidable force
their message is
worth more than
a fortune
Cos despite they
are always short
lifted from life
their legacy
remains an everlasting
gift to humanity
their lesson
is our guide
against oppression
we are protected
by their formidable
energy
no wonder despite
our long suffering
era's after era's
generation after generation
we still remain
formidable to the last

Often, I fall to the ground in anguish and burst into tears,
not for lack of strength, but to ask for forgiveness;
seldom, I venture down a narrow and unlit road,
fearing the assailant is waiting for my innocent blood!
I call upon the Lord of infinite kindness and mercy
to keep those bad-willed men off my treacherous trail;
how I want to scrutinize the awesome universe
and name a few planets with careful observance!
And although I am unable to spot and discovered any,
with the naked eye: I seek them more than the Holy Grail!
Often, I question with disbelief how fate makes me broach,
affecting my emotions and destabilizing them to incur
dread when the heavy tread of footsteps approach;
are they those of a ghost or is someone at the door?
Not all men are evil and can boast of a massive wealth,
being rich is the privilege of the few, others only dream of it;
I've been assigned a formidable task which requires no stealth:
to make most of this existence, not indulging in excessive guilt!

So brittle is our finite life's short stretch.
Demurely, we spend out our early years.
Immutable at first, we're glad to sketch
each interlude of life without deep fears.
Our time seems limitless to spend away;
end of each night presents a brand new day.
As years fly by, so quickly turns each page.
Though tenuous, we come to alter views
that soon become formidable with age.
Bereft, we read friends' passings in our news.
Tho, thankful, that for now, we're freely spared,
we live in death's dark shadow, stay prepared.

A most wondrous view lies before me,
And to my back; a perilous endeavor
Nevertheless, let my journey commence and my mind be free
From this very moment, will arise cunning most clever
Lo, I have but no other choice,
To take a most literal leap of faith o’er this cliff’s edge
Lest, this fearsome fire may halt at the sound of my voice
And swiftly retreat from my presence on this rocky ledge
Nay, despite my efforts, the fire draws near
Thus I act on my newly-conceived notion
And I fall for an eternity, met with a reality becoming clear;
That perhaps my peradventure has been without merit
For on this day, God saved me from the fire’s taunting gleam
Hence, the Lord patiently waits to fulfill His glorious scheme
