Formidable Romance

Fireflies steal crumbs of live moon,
stardust gossips with tall trees.
Tea dances with swirling spoon,
lips wake up from deep sleep freeze.

Your rhythmic breath pulsates my tender heart,
ardent time ties us in knots from the start.
We dispel darkness by shared firefly light, 
I find me drawn by your hypnotic flight.

The hallway hums with breath behind the door,
cold stairs creak as steps climb unseen.
Shadows lean on the floor,
sense scans the scene…
Run.

'Fireflies steal crumbs of live moon' is one of the most unique lines I’ve read in a long time! You built such a lush, hypnotic atmosphere in the first two stanzas, which made the shift to the 'cold stairs' and the 'hallway hums' so much more terrifying.
