Forces

Two irreconcilable differences
Two diabolically opposing forces
Two ultimate purposes
Two unequal forces

One offers free will and choice
The other is controlling and dictatorial
One rules by subtlety and hate
and operates in shadows and darkness

One rules by openness and love
and operates in the brightest of lights
One has all power and authority
The other has granted, limited power

One promotes life and liberty
The

The Reign

A coat was laid upon the shoulders
potential threats firmly at bay
arms that held the precious mould are
protecting those who chose to pray

a bridge to cross a sea of secrets
as towers leaned towards their fate
cross the heart and aim to keep it
and swallow what will fill the space

Grandma said she would take care of the kids now
I knew things were tight, gramps had run off with the cow
and a woman, but we were sworn to secrecy about that
Grandma took her anger out on us. Now I have to wear a hat

Imagine your life as a masterpiece 
With no limits on who you can be.

Imagine your life as a treasure trove
With no limits on how you can grow.

With no limits on what you can do.

Here I am at the crossroads 
Staring blankly at the inky dark sky

Beaten to a pulp and helpless 
By forces of darkness 

Here I am lying in the pool of my emotions 
Clutching at every straw
To maintain sanity and stability

That dehumanises her own

Dark Forces

 There is a sense of ennui the déjà vu after a feast
life is not what we thought it was, the banner of battle
no longer flies on top of the town hall.
