Premium Member His Favourite Meal

She walked down to the supermarket
To buy the ingredients to make him a special meal
A lamb roast was his favourite
Followed by apple pie and custard to seal the deal

She cooked away happily
Looking forward to his arrival home
The table set perfectly with a vase of coloured flowers
From her garden she had grown

He must of been held up at work ,she thought
As hours rolled by …. late afternoon turning to night
She sat in complete darkness at the kitchen table
Tears rolling down her cheeks as realisation came to light

He was not coming home tonight or any night
For he had passed many years before
Her silent tears turned to gut wrenching sobs
As reality ripped out her heart and she fell to the floor

                                            Raindrops on Roses

                                       Raindrops on roses glitter
                                       Like bright sapphire gems
                                       On foils of tender petals
                                              Amidst diadems
                                               Of a royal king
To offer on his troth day
                                             His favourite thing.

Today, Tomorrow and Forever

Today, tomorrow, and forever,
Whether we stay together or not,
You’ll always be the best part of my life I’ve got.

I don’t know how long we’ll walk side by side,
Or when time may take us on a different ride.
Because we never know what tomorrow may bring—
A journey together or separate wings.

But no matter where life takes me through,
You’ll always be my favorite person, that’s true.

Premium Member My Favourite Fantasy Dream

I fall into a deep sleep, and I Dream
of days gone by when you were in my life.
Together, so in love were a team
while in this Reverie became your wife.

This Visualization seems real
you stay with me and do not walk away.
My hearts on fire through this Whimsy feel
because I know you’ll love me every day.

But this Hallucination lets me down
my fantasy is gone when I awake.
No matter how I want that wedding gown
dreaming Imagination cannot make.

Although you’ll never be with me again
I realize my feeling must restrain.

Premium Member Tribute to my favourite summer beer

Bartender, bring me a Pink Fuzz
in a tall frosted glass

It's going down velvety smooth
so cold refreshing and citrusy
love its grapefruit aftertaste
that lingers on the tongue

It makes my head feel light
it's magical and so delightful
brewed to perfection
achieving mild intoxication

Pink Fuzz a celebration in a glass
cheers ~ summer is finally here !!

You're my heart
You're my home
You're the safest place I know

You're my hope
You're my joy
You're my blessings forevermore

You're my mercy
You're my grace
You remind me of our place

You're my hero
You're my sweet
You're my favourite human being

You're my wild
You're my free
You're the craziest place I like to be

You're my voice
You're my song
You're the words that are never wrong

You're my life
You're my soul
You're the best part of my whole

Seaweed, My Favourite Acquired Taste

Seaweed, another nutritious meal,
With an acquired taste in a meal,
I desire for my breakfast,
What is the purpose,
Is it the cellulose,
That is so delicate to be pulled by the force,
Enhanced by the source,
Here, I found the origin,
I wish it would taste addictive like margarine,
Or tangerine,
In the summer,
I blenched it with salt and water,
It could not get any better,
What is more settler,
I grab a bowl,
The essence is rich,
Yet, I extract it for more,
I don't want to get the tongue sore,
I let the broth do more,
It is an enjoyable meal,
I set it on the chill,
I wait until till,
What does it call then,
I could have it by ten,
How much I appreciate it, till then.

Premium Member Christmas Time Favourite

Creamily melts in the mouth like butter
Comfort food that sets tongues aflutter.
Cups or mugs hold this rich luscious drink
Created from cocoa, sugar and milk.
Captivates taste buds in light, dark or white
Chocolaty goodness that's great day or night.
Christmastime favourite that always delights

Meduvada

Mix black lentil batter
Must add salt and spices
Make holed rings, put in oil
Meduvadas frizzle
Mouthwatering, fluffy
Melts in mouth, soft, crispy
My most favorite snack

Her poetic mind is uncannily artistic,
She can make a long grocery list
Sound like an art of Shakespeare
and still forget the humble Pear!

With her talent she writes poems
She can express the emotions
We didn’t even know we had …
Like crying over a sock losing its pair.

Her goals are so lofty
Even the moon gets FOMO
When you talk about them...

I finally came to know how she
Writes the prize winning poems
With profound artistic acumen,
She probably interviews her pen
Before letting it touch the paper!

Keep on writing my beloved poet
Sure, one day you will be the greatest !

Premium Member GOODBYE WINTER

GOODBYE WINTER
For winter, time is almost up
I take a sip from my coffee cup
The grass has grown very long
Neglecting it for weeks turned out so wrong
Mowing the grass is definitely a plan
And eventually it will look spick and span
Or I could just call a lawnmower man
I’ll hand over the responsibility
Then I can relax and have a shandy
Half lemonade and half beer, that’s how you make it
There’s no need to stir or shake it
I’m happy spring is almost here
It is my favourite time of year
Spring is the time for planting and sowing
Time to watch the vegies growing
All the flowers start blooming too
Spring is the time for everything new
All of the sights and sounds it brings
The sun is shining and the birds will sing.

MY FAVOURITE TEACHER

MY FAVOURITE TEACHER

My favourite teacher is life itself
Experiences help me understand
What worked, and what did not
Which only afterwards did I spot
Learning that will extend a hand
That can grow, almost by stealth

Such a teacher is always faceless
The years accumulate as degrees
Respect for knowledge obtained
Nothing learned, nothing gained
Wasted time shooting the breeze
Ignorance ends up being tasteless

Can I say life is still my favourite
As a teacher with no personality
One on one tuition is full grown
It has a curriculum all of its own
Yet each year has its seasonality
With harvest done, just savour it

Premium Member My Favourite Poet - Inspired by Arthur Vaso's Poem of the Day

My favourite poet is ME
I’m obsessed with pooping and pee
So I’m a crap poet
Oh boy do I know it
My poem fans may disagree!

Some people may think I’m a schnook
For writing a second rude book
But I’m not lost for words
Writing of pee and turds
When published, will YOU dare to look!
